Speculation is rife over the reason behind Prince's sudden demise on April 21. A recent revelation suggests that the pop star was fighting off waves of sore throats and stomach pains.

The Purple Rain singer's personal chef, Ray Roberts, recently revealed  that sometime before his death, the star started seeking for food that was easier to digest, reports news.com.au. The chef, who cooked for Prince for almost three years, said in an interview that there was ?not even a hint? of any abnormality on the night before his death.

But Roberts added that he started noticing changes in the singer's diet as he was eating less and drinking less water and looked like he was losing weight. "It felt like he wasn't himself probably the last month or two. I think he was just struggling with being sick a lot,?" he stated.

This information came on the backdrop of the investigation to find out whether Prince died from an overdose of painkillers. It was reported earlier that the Little Red Corvette hit-maker travelled about 10km from home to pick up prescription medicines, the night before he died. Prince was found dead at his Paisley Park home on April 21 at the age of 57.

In an earlier it was reported the icon had strict rules for staff who worked at his Paisley Park home, including not allowing them to look "directly" into his eyes. The "Little Red Corvette" hitmaker tragically passed away at his Paisley Park home at the age of 57.
