Review: 'Kalla Malla Sulla', a complete laugh riot

After entertaining Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu film audiences, here’s the Kannada remake of the popular film No Entry. Producer K Manju chose this particular film because he felt that the flick will not just entertain, but also give his audience a message towards the end. Does he succeed in ensuring that his film’s a good watch? Yes.

Credit goes to director Udaya Prakash, who has ensured that the film has just the right amount of improvisations that works for the Kannada audience. The film revolves around the life of Ramesh and his wife Ramya, who cannot get herself to trust her husband.

Ramesh’s friend Ravi, who seems to be living the life that Ramesh desires, has a wife Pooja who trusts him blindly.

Ravi influences Ramesh to try his hand at having fun outside his marriage, by introducing him to an escort named Khushboo who also dances in the bar. And there’s also Raghu, who’s in love with Sanjana, the innocent fellow, who ends up in a mess that’s woven by Ravi and Ramesh. The story doesn’t really require too much brain to figure out the plot. But the situational comedy ensures that one is sufficiently entertained.

As for the cast, Ravichandran has a crisp role, which is almost like an allusion to his many characters till date. He carries that off with his usual style. Ramesh Aravind and Vijay Raghavendra are the true show stealers with their great performances. Ragini Dwivedi as the temptress looks great and does a nice job. Yagna Shetty, Risheeka Singh and Monica, as the three wives, play their parts well. The comedy ensemble, right from Raju Talikote to Sihi Kahi Chandru, does not go to waste either.

This film is worth a one-time watch with the family. Just ensure you close your kids’ eyes during two songs. You’ll know which ones they are.
