During a confrontation with terrorists in Doda, Jammu, four army personnel who had suffered serious injuries were martyred, and numerous others were hurt. The security forces were notified on Monday that there were some terrorists concealed in the Doda forests. The terrorists used it as justification for opening fire during a search operation by the Special Police Squad (SOG) and army personnel. In Jammu, terrorist attacks have been happening nonstop for the past few months. It is thought that the terrorists have turned Jammu into a new attack target using a new tactic and pattern after losing in Kashmir.

In the past few months, there have been nine or ten terrorist incidents in Jammu. The largest of these attacks happened on June 9 in Reasi, where terrorists attacked a bus carrying pilgrims. Where nine people perished. Then, on July 8, terrorists attacked and ambushed an army convoy, resulting in the deaths of five soldiers. More than 24 people have died in terrorist attacks since April 2024. They also include military personnel.

According to defence experts, the army has defeated terrorists in Kashmir over the past few years with Operation "All Out." A great deal of terrorists and their leaders were slain during this time. Nearly all of the valley's significant networks were destroyed. Over most of the Line of Control (LoC), the army has prevented infiltration from Pakistan. The masters of terror have altered their tactics and routine in such a scenario, focusing on Jammu.

For a while, Jammu was thought to be tranquil. There were a few minor incidents but no significant acts of terrorism. However, these incidents have increased since 2023, and 43 terrorist attacks have occurred, resulting in the deaths of over 16 soldiers.

In the last three years, over 23 civilians have been killed and 43 soldiers have been martyred. These numbers demonstrate how terrorism is becoming more entrenched in Jammu.  Defence experts claim that because of the overground workers, terrorists are receiving support. It's thought that in many parts of Jammu, there are now more overground labourers and sleeper cells. Terrorists are using this to help them target civilians and the army.

2023 saw the release of a report claiming that sleeper cells and over ground workers numbered 496 in Handwara, 182 in Reasi, 135 in Kathua, 135 in Kishtwar, 80 in Rajouri, 74 in Doda, 32 in Kupwara, and 26 in Baramulla.
