Amit Shah roadshow in Ahmedabad: NDA's show of strength with Rajnath, Uddhav, Paswan, others in attendance

Speaking at his rally in Ahmedabad on Saturday, BJP president Amit Shah said, "What I achieved is because of BJP only. If BJP is subtracted out of me, only zero will remain."

"I am fortunate enough that party gave me a chance to contest the polls from where veterans like Vajpayee, Advani and Mavlankar won," Shah added. 

"From Himachal Pradesh to Kanyakumari and from Kamroop to Kutch, entire nation heartily wish Narendra Modi to be PM and that happened in last five years. People should think why entire nation has such a big faith in a person who remained Chief Minister of Gujarat for two decades and never contested any poll before that."

Talking about the good works done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the last five years, the BJP chief said, "Today, people have a question who will provide security to the country. Only Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP and NDA government can provide security to the country."

Before filing nomination, Shah paid tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, followed by a roadshow from DRH Regency hotel to Patidar Chowk in Ghatlodia area.

Shah filed his nominations around 1 pm in the presence of Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, former Chief Minister of Punjab Parkash Singh Badal, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray, Railways Minister Piyush Goyal, BJP's national general secretary Ram Lal and Lok Janshakti Party president Ram Vilas Paswan. Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray who attended BJP chief Amit Shah's rally on Saturday on an alliance with BJP said, "there was a difference of opinion between us but we have come over that amicably. Oppositions mahagathbandhan have hands in hands but there is no heart to heart connection among them. Here, we all have our hearts connected."

"I would not deny that there was a rift between us but we both the parties have been walking together as both the parties had nothing to lose. We both have the same agenda of Hindutva," Thackeray added.

Speaking at Amit Shah's rally in Ahmedabad, Gujarat on Saturday, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said, "I have no responsibility related to Amit Shah's nomination but I personally decided to be here on the occasion. LK Advani is our great and giant leader and Amit bhai is one who can be his successor. 

The world accepts that India's economy became strong in the last five years and now the Indian economy is among the fastest growing economy in world.  By 2022, India will become one of the top 3 countries in the world legging one of the three, US, Russia and China behind.

Matching chorus with PM Modi, Rajnath Singh said, "Chowkidar pure hai, Modi ka PM banana sure hai, sari samasya ka yahi ek cure hai."

Rajnath Singh said that when in 1971, Indira Gandhi had split Pakistan, divided in Pak and Bangladesh, our leader Atal Bihari Vajpeyi had praised her. Now when our PM Modi took stringent actions against Pakistan, why Congress is raising doubts in place of praising him? 

Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi for putting immense efforts to develop the country and bringing several welfare schemes for poor, Rajnath Singh said, "India has taken a big leap in the world stage; all credit goes to PM Modi. And then people like Rahul Gandhi say 'Chowkidar Chor Hai?" 

He appealed people to come together and convey a message to Rahul Gandhi that "Chowkidar chor nahi hai, chowkidar pure hai" (The watchman is not a thief, he is pure)."

Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray in Ahmedabad, Gujarat: We did not come to demonstrate our power as it is obvious that the alliance is powerful. Now that BJP and Shiv Sena have come together the Opposition is bound to be defeated.
