2.Brief timeline of Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title dispute
The crux of the Ayodhya title dispute case lies in the fact that the piece of land is traditionally considered to be the birthplace of Lord Rama, and is thus sacred to the Hindus. This is also the land upon which the 16th-century mosque Babri Masjid stood until it was demolished in 1992, thus kickstarting the contemporary debate. However, the history of the dispute is quite old.
Here is a timeline chronicling one of the most contentious disputes of India's history:
1528: Mir Baki, a noble under Mughal emperor Babur, builds a mosque, which Hindu hardliners claim was built on a temple marking the birthplace of Rama in Ayodhya.
1857: A Hindu Priest takes over part of the shrine compound and builds an altar for worship.
1885: The dispute is dragged to court for the first time when Mahant Raghubar Das files a suit in a Faizabad court seeking permission to build a Ram temple adjoining the Babri mosque.
December 22, 1949: Idols of Ram Lalla are allegedly installed inside the Babri mosque at night by a group of Hindus following which a court rules that the site be locked.
February 1, 1986: Faizabad district judge orders the gates of disputed shrine be opened to Hindus for worship. Babri Masjid Action Committee formed shortly thereafter.
December 6, 1992: Tens of thousands of kar sevaks demolish the disputed structure. The incident triggers widespread communal riots in the country, killing hundreds.
September 30, 2010: The three-judge Lucknow bench of the Allahabad high court rules that disputed site belongs jointly to Hindus, Muslims and the Nirmohi Akhara. The place where the idol of Ram Lalla is currently housed in a makeshift temple under the main dome of the Babri mosque will be given to Hindus.

5.Verdict not a matter of win or loss: PM Modi appeals for calm ahead of verdict
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday appealed for calm ahead of the Supreme Court verdict on Ayodhya, saying that whatever judgment the country's top court gives will not be anyone's victory or loss.
The Supreme Court will deliver the verdict on the Ramjanmbhoomi-Babri Masjid land dispute case on Saturday. The bench will sit in the Chief Justice of India (CJI) Ranjan Gogoi's court on Saturday to deliver the verdict at 10:30 am.
In a series of tweets, the Prime Minister said, "Supreme Court verdict on Ayodhya is coming tomorrow. For the past few months, the matter was being heard continuously in the Supreme Court and the whole country was watching eagerly. The efforts made by all sections of the society to maintain an atmosphere of goodwill during this period are greatly appreciated."
"Keeping the respect of the judiciary of the country paramount, efforts to create a harmonious and positive atmosphere by all sections of the society, socio-cultural organisations are welcome. Even after the decision of the court, we all have to work together to maintain harmony," Modi said.
Appealing to all to maintain calm, Modi said, "Whatever verdict is delivered by the Supreme Court will not be anyone's victory or loss. I appeal to my countrymen that everyone's priority should be that the verdict strengthens the great tradition of peace, unity and goodwill of India."
Last month, Prime Minister Modi had remembered the Allahabad High Court judgment of September 2010 as something which was respected by all and no untoward incident took place.
