Babul Supriyo to send 'Get Well Soon' cards to Mamata, dares Didi to say no to Lord Rama's statue in Kalighat

 West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday alleged that the BJP was mixing religion with politics by repeatedly using the 'Jai Sri Ram' phrase.
"Jai Sia Ram, Jai Ram ji ki, Ram naam Satya hai etc have religious and social connotations. We respect these sentiments. But BJP is using religious slogan Jai Sri Ram as their party slogan in a misconceived manner by way of mixing religion with politics (sic)," she said in a Facebook post.
Banerjee said she had no problem regarding any particular slogan being used in political rallies or events of a party. "We do not respect this forcible enforcement of political slogans on others...," she said.
The Trinamool Congress supremo also said attempts were being made to propagate the ideology of hatred, which should be opposed.
"This is a deliberate attempt to sell hatred ideology through vandalism and violence, which we must oppose together," Banerjee wrote.
The chief minister has lost her cool twice in the past few weeks over people chanting 'Jai Sri Ram' at a few places in the state, as her motorcade passed through those areas. 

BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj said on Sunday that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee "belongs to the family of demon king Hirankashyap," an ancient Hindu ruler who is believed to have put his son Prahlad behind the bars and tortured him for believing in God.

"As we talk of West Bengal, I remember the demon king Hirankashyap who had put his son behind bars and tortured him for saying 'Jai Shri Ram'. This is being repeated in Bengal and it seems that Mamata Banerjee belongs to the family of demon Hirankashyap as she put all those behind bars who say 'Jai Shri Ram'," said Sakshi Maharaj.

"She gets irritated, put people behind bars, abuse them and conspires against those who say 'Jai Shri Ram", he said. Mamata Banerjee on Sunday criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and said that its leaders are using the religious slogan, 'Jai Shri Ram' as their party slogan in a "misconceived manner".

In two occasions now, Mamata Banerjee has stopped his car to challenge people who had raised 'Jai Shri Ram' slogans at him. She has dubbed them as criminals, accused them of working in BJP's behest and trying to change Bengal to Gujarat. 

In both occasions, police also detained individuals who gave the slogan but let them go after finding nothing substantial against them. This has become a hot political topic now with BJP saying 'jAI Shri Ram' now is the slogan for resistance, whereas TMC has accused the saffron party of mixing religion with politics.
