COVID-19: Partial lockdown, curbs imposed in THESE districts of Maharashtra, check complete list

A week-long lockdown has been imposed in Amravati from 8 pm on February 22 to 6 am on March 1. Everything will be shut except for essential shops which will remain open from 8 am to 3 pm. According to Amravati District Collector Shailesh Naval, educational offices, non-teaching staff, research staff, and scientists will be permitted for e-information, evaluation of answer sheets, and result declaration work only. "A curfew will be imposed in Amravati Municipal Corporation and Achalpur Municipal Council limits from 8 pm on 22 February to 6 am on 1 March," he said.

Furthermore, restrictions on the number of passengers in different types of vehicles have been put in place, while inter-district bus transport will operate at 50% capacity, with strict COVID-19 protocols in place. Swimming pools, cinema houses, parks, and gyms will also remain closed and gatherings for entertainment, educational, cultural, religious purposes, etc will not be permitted. Government offices and banks will work with 15% staff or a minimum of 15 persons.

In Pune, all schools, colleges, and private coaching classes will remain shut till February 28. No ‘non-essential’ activities will be permitted on roads between 11 pm and 6 am. However, essential services like medicines, hospitals, delivery of vegetables, milk, newspapers will remain open. Hotels and eateries will not be allowed to remain open beyond 11 pm.

No more than 200 people would be permitted at wedding functions and political programmes, for which mandatory permission from police will have to be taken.

Nagpur administration has closed all the weekly markets till March 7. Additionally, schools, colleges, and coaching centers have also been ordered to be closed till March 7. Hotels have been asked to operate only till 9 pm and at 50% capacity. From February 25 to March 7, no religious and political events will take place.

As per a Zee News report, weddings will take place at home and no more than 50 people have been allowed to attend. The administration has also decided to reopen the COVID-19 centers that were closed down earlier.

Akola district collector Jitendra Papalkar ordered a lockdown in some parts of the district. Akola city, Murtijapur city, and Akot city will be under lockdown from February 23 to March 1. Only establishments providing essential services and commodities will be open from 9 am to 5 pm. Cinema halls, educational institutions, gyms, and parks will remain shut. Religious, cultural, and other gatherings are not allowed.

Only parcel facility will be allowed in restaurants and 50% of the total capacity in the bus will be allowed for passenger transport. For weddings, only 25 persons will be allowed, including the groom and bride. Religious places will continue to be open to the public with a limited capacity of 10 persons at a time.

Yavatmal district administration in the state had ordered a 10-day lockdown from February 18 to February 28.  In Apart from essential services being operational, only fifty people will be allowed at weddings. Schools (for students from Classes 5 to 9), colleges, and coaching classes will remain closed till February 28. No religious functions will be allowed while religious places will remain open but COVID-19 protocols will be strictly implemented.

Hotels and restaurants will be allowed to operate between 8 am to 9:30 pm, while markets and shops will remain open till 8 pm.
