In the latest updates on Chandrayaan-3 taking a walk on the moon, the Pragyan Rover encountered a big crater positioned ahead of its location. The Pragyan rover has been safely steered to a new course after a large four-metre crater was discovered on the Moon's surface.
The Indian Space Research Organization tweeted on Monday afternoon that the rover had seen a 4-meter diameter crater positioned 3 meters ahead of its location. It has now been sent on a safe path.
Taking to X, ISRO tweeted: “On August 27, 2023, the Rover came across a 4-meter diameter crater positioned 3 meters ahead of its location. The Rover was commanded to retrace the path. It’s now safely heading on a new path.”

According to the first results of studies being carried out by Chandrayaan-3 instruments, the temperature on the lunar surface lowers significantly with depth, at least towards the south pole.
There are only 10 days left until the completion of one lunar day. Nilesh M. Desai, Director, of the Space Applications Centre (SAC), stated on Sunday that the Chandrayaan-3 rover module Pragyan, moving on the surface of the moon, is in a "race against time" and that the ISRO scientists are working to cover a maximum distance of the uncharted South pole through the six-wheeled rover.
