Downloading Your Aadhaar Card

There are three ways to download your Aadhaar card electronically:

  1. Using Your Aadhaar Number:

    • An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number. Enter the OTP and click "Verify and Download."

  2. Using Your Enrolment ID:
    • Follow steps 1 and 2 mentioned above.
    • Instead of your Aadhaar number, choose the "Enrolment ID" option.
    • Enter your 28-digit enrolment ID and the captcha code.
    • The remaining steps are identical to using your Aadhaar number.
  3. Using Your Virtual ID (VID):
    • A VID is a temporary 16-digit number that masks your Aadhaar number for added security.
    • If you have a VID, follow steps 1 and 2 mentioned above.
    • Select the "VID" option and enter your 16-digit VID and the captcha code.
    • Proceed with entering the OTP and downloading your e-Aadhaar.

Updating Your Aadhaar Card

Online Update (Limited to Address Only):

Currently, you can only update your address online through the UIDAI website. Here's how:

  1. Click on "Login" under the "My Aadhaar" section.
  2. Enter your Aadhaar number, captcha code, and the OTP received on your mobile number.
  3. Click on "Address Update" and then "Update Aadhaar Online."
  4. Carefully review the guidelines and click "Proceed to Update Aadhaar."
  5. Select "Address" and click on "Proceed to Update Aadhaar" again.
  6. Enter your updated address, upload a scanned copy of your address proof document, and click "Next."
  7. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update process.

Updating Other Details (Name, Date of Birth, etc.):

For updating details other than your address, you'll need to visit an Aadhaar Seva Kendra (ASK). You can locate your nearest ASK on the UIDAI website.

  • Ensure you have a stable internet connection before downloading your Aadhaar card.
  • Keep your registered mobile number updated for receiving OTPs.
