I-T raids against those who raise voice against Modi govt: Saamana Editorial

The ruling party in Maharashtra, Shivsena in its mouthpiece Saamana has come out in support of Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu and producer-director Anurag Kashyap. It is written in Saamana that Income Tax raids are being conducted against those artists and producers-directors of the cine world who speak out against the Modi government.

Prominent among them are Taapsee Pannu, Anurag Kashyap, Vikas Bahl, and distributor Madhu Mantena. More than 30 locations were raided in Mumbai-Pune. Taapsee Pannu and Anurag Kashyap keep expressing their views openly. 

The article states - the question arises because the behavior and work of the Hindi cine world are clean and transparent, exceptions only to Taapsee and Anurag Kashyap.

Many great cinematic idols of the cine world adopted a bizarre role in the context of the farmers' agitation.

They did not support the farmers' agitation, instead, the people from across the world who came out in support of the protesting farmers were told that they were interfering in the internal matters of the country.

But only a few people like Taapsee and Anurag Kashyap stood in favor of the farmer protests. They are paying for it.

These raids have been conducted in the context of a transaction carried out in 2011.

It is further written in Saamana that some people have a strong backbone and when the time comes, they show it through their actions. The way they portray struggle onscreen, they try to emulate it in real life also.

Those who have seen Taapsee's strong acting in films like 'Pink', 'Thappad' and 'Badla' will not ask why Taapsee is so vocal?

The same thing can be said about Anurag Kashyap too. You may not agree with their views, but they have the full right to express their views.

When Deepika Padukone went to JNU and met the students there, then also hidden movement and boycott were used as weapons against her. There was an attempt to flop Deepika's film in a planned manner.

But a dirty campaign was launched against him on social media. Who are all these people or from which ideology, forget it.

But it is certain that by doing such works, they are not increasing the prestige of the country.

The disgusting manner in which environmentalist activist Disha Ravi was arrested and the way people around the world commented on the Modi government on this issue brings disrespect to the nation.

Many people were sacrificed in the name of cow slaughter. But beef sales are in full swing in BJP-ruled states. Why does no one speak on this? 

Now, freedom of every kind is being curtailed in the country. Due to this, the independence and fair work of the Central Investigation Agency has also been destroyed. This is what has happened in the case of Taapsee and Anurag.
