BJP leader LK Advani today took a dig at Congress over its "dynastic" politics saying he was proud like party chief Nitin Gadkari to be a member of the Sangh Parivar but the parivar is not like the Congress "dynasty".

"Although all of us belong to the BJP parivaar, we have no 'parivaarvaad', no dynasty when it comes to choosing our president and our leadership.

"It is unfortunate that most political parties in India have become victims of dynastic rule with the Congress leading the way."

"We are truly proud of being different because in being so we serve a very important tenet of democracy, namely that all are born equal. The Congress believes in the Orwellian theory that all are born equal but some are more equal than others," Advani said at the BJP national council meet in Indore.

Yesterday, Gadkari had taken several jibes at the "dynastic politics" of the Congress to drive home the point that an ordinary worker can become the chief only in a party like BJP.

Noting that all its past presidents were 'committed karyakartas' (workers) who climbed up from the grassroots, he said it showed that the BJP was a party with a difference.
