Amidst rumours of a falling out with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, deputy chief minister of Uttar Pradesh Keshav Prasad Maurya posted a mysterious message on X, a platform that was formerly Twitter, on Wednesday.  In his post, Keshav Prasad Maurya discussed how "organisation" is bigger than the government and the "pain of the workers."

Keshav Maurya was quoted by the UP deputy chief minister's office in an X post, “The organization is bigger than the government, the pain of the workers is my pain. No one is bigger than the organization, the workers are the pride."

One day after Maurya's meeting in New Delhi with Union minister and BJP president JP Nadda, this post was published. Notably, JP Nadda and Uttar Pradesh BJP chief Bhupender Chaudhary had a separate meeting. The purpose of the meetings was to plan the party's approach following the BJP's dismal showing in Uttar Pradesh during the Lok Sabha election.

There was no official word on the meeting's agenda when Maurya left the BJP headquarters on Tuesday and avoided the media.

Strong rumours of a rift between Yogi Adityanath and Keshav Maurya have been around since the Uttar Pradesh general election fiasco. According to PTI, several BJP leaders claimed in private discussions that the chief minister's management style is one of the factors contributing to the party's defeat in the state.

With 312 assembly seats, the BJP formed a majority government under Chief Minister Yogi in 2017, with Maurya serving as the party's state president.

On June 14, Adityanath stated during a meeting of the BJP working committee that the party's expectations in the state had been harmed by overconfidence. Adityanath said,"We have to hoist the BJP flag in the state once again. BJP leaders and workers will have to be super active on social media and immediately refute any kind of rumours."
