    KOCHI: 'Smart Village', a Rs 500 crore project, envisaging construction of apartments, villas and row houses (agraharams) in 55 acre at Manjaapra near Nedumbassery airport, will take off next week, targetting mainly the Non Resident Indians.
       
    Being built by Malayalee Realtors India Private ltd (MAA), the project will be inaugurated by Uthradom Thirunal Marthanda Varma at a function here on September 13.

    During the first phase of the project, MAA proposes to start construction in 40 acres to build 60 premium villas of 2,465 and 2,415 sq feet area, 40 row houses of 1,912 sq feet area and 1,080 apartments with 1,460, 1,100 square feet area, studio apartments of 600, 800 square feet, Chairman Sabu Karikkassery and Managing Director Francis Mukkannikal told a press conference here.

    About 10 acre of land has been set apart for lush green lawns, including a herbal garden in three acre. A small river flows through the middle of this project area, which is near the famous pilgrimage centres of Malayatoor and Kalady and tourist hot spots of Athirapally, Ezhattumuham and Cherai.

    The 'Smart Village' will also have a mini theatre, restaurant of Indian and continental style, club house and medical care facilities including yoga room and jogging track.

    A guest house with 10 suites, party areas and park for children are among the facilties which would be provided.
       
    During the second phase of the construction, a spacious convention centre for 1,000 persons, a residential school and mini stadium have also been planned.
