Days after three UPSC aspirants were killed in the basement of an IAS coaching centre in the Old Rajinder Nagar area due to flooding, Vikas Divyakirti, a popular teacher and Drishti IAS owner, has finally broken the silence on the issue. Divyakirti explained he did not want to say anything based on incomplete information. Students have expressed disappointment over the recent tragic incident and the silence of many top teachers, including Vikas Divyakirti and Avadh Ojha.

In a statement, he said, "We regret that we are late in presenting our view. We did not want to say anything based on incomplete information. We are sincerely apologetic for this delay."

It added, "The anger seen among the students regarding this accident is completely justified. It would be appropriate if this anger gets correctly channelised and the government issues certain guidelines for coaching institutes. In this regard, we are willing to actively co-operate with the government." 

He added that Team Drishti is extremely cautious about the safety of the students. The comprehensive action taken by Municipal Corporation of Delhi in the last few days is welcome, he added. Check out his full statement here:
