Newlyweds receive pledges of organ donation as wedding gifts

Eye donation, organ donation and body donation are considered among the noblest cause today. 

Recently, something unique took place in the wedding ceremony of one Tinku Ojha of Gram Mundiar, who works with an organisation Shine India which is spreading awareness regarding eye, organ and body donation in Kota and nearby areas for the past 8 years. 

In the invitation, all the guests and relatives were requested to provide their resolution letter regarding eye, organ and body donation as a gift to the newlyweds.

Due to not having proper information on the subject, most of the villagers refused to attend the wedding at first. Seeing the situation, a 5-member team of Shine India reached Mundiar village a day before the ceremonies and visited each and every house of the area to make people aware of the importance of eye and organ donation. The next day as well, the organisation sent pamphlets of eye-organ-body donation along with the invitation to all the villagers.

People of all age groups filled resolution letters for organ donation at the camp set up by the organisation in the evening. Around 35 people agreed to donate organs, 140 people agreed for eye donation and three old people gave their approval for body donation in the village. The groom Tinku and bride Tripti also filled resolution letters of organ donation in front of more than 2000 people.

Tinku said that he could get over the sad demise of his mother Vidya Devi due to this noble work only. Moreover, in the future, Tripti will also work with Shine India Foundation in the field of eye and organ donation. Her parents too feel proud of the noble work being done by their daughter and son-in-law.
