When going on holiday even if it's for a quick weekend getaway, one wants a change from the cramped and claustrophobic infrastructure in Mumbai. Hotels can offer an escape but offer little privacy. Enter the The Weekend Plan, a portal that offers villas across Khandala, Panchgani, Alibaug, and Goa. Co-founders Satish Dodhani and his wife Vridhi came back from a family vacation when the idea struck of offering likeminded people a space to call their own. Satish explains, "We felt a need to create a convenient way for families to vacation together.

We hand pick select properties as per guidelines set by the company that combine the luxury, space and specific character of private vacation homes with warm, personalised service and a host of amenities. We were looking to provide quality services under professional management which was the point of motivation for inception of The Weekend Plan." Each villa that features on their site has been checked for comfort level, amenities and cleanliness. The villas have air-conditioned rooms, adequate shower and toilet facilities, cook-on-call options and even a pool for some.

People who have a second home can put their villas up for hire with the brand. "Families, couples, singles, and corporates form an important part of our clientele. We have properties catering to women travellers, pet-friendly properties as well as villas that work best for team bonding exercises- there is something for everyone. The response we have got has been overwhelming,'' adds Satish.

They also plan to keep growing and plan to have 65 villas onboard by the end of this year in Maharashtra and Goa; as well as add three to five new locations by next year end. Their focus is on keeping each villa villa "spectacular" for which they are fine with making additional investments to meet their high standards.
