Princess Diana and Prince Charles’s wedding was the one of the most viewed events in the British Royal Family, having a viewership of over 28.4 million people. The wedding dress of Princess Diana is also considered to be one of the most iconic wedding dresses of all time.
While Princess Diana had the most expensive wedding in the world, the record of owning the costliest wedding attire in the world is held by Mukesh Ambani’s daughter Isha Ambani, who wore a golden and red lehenga worth Rs 90 crore.
The iconic wedding dress of Princess Diana was designed by former husband-and-wife duo David and Elizabeth Emanuel, and was made with silk with real pearls embellished in the dress. The price of the dress is estimated to be around Rs 4.1 crore.
According to the New York Times, Princess Diana and Prince Charles received over 3000 gifts on their engagement and wedding day, including expensive diamond and gold jewelry, rare and pricey watches and expensive crockery.
The wedding saw live music from 250 musicians and had 1400 guests present at the ceremony. Charles and Diana eventually got a divorce, and the princess died in a tragic car crash years later.
