0.0 : Hola, everyone, and welcome to the coverage of Match No. 4 of the Super Four stage between the passionate Bangladesh and the ever energetic Afghanistan. Having lost their first match of this stage against the tournament favorites, both teams will be keen on getting a win under their belt and keep their hopes of reaching the final alive. With the intensity and exuberance with which these two teams play, we definitely have an exciting contest on our hands. Also, another factor to watch out for is
TOSS - The coin is flipped, Mortaza calls it right and Bangladesh elect to bat.
Bangladesh captain, Mashrafe Mortaza says they have made two changes, an extra spinner (Nazmul Islam making his debut) and Imrul Kayes come in. Adds further that in order to tackle the world class Afghan spinners their batters will have to play with confidence and back their technique. States that they will look to get a good start first and then will want to carry on from there. Reckons that it is important to drink lots of fluids and keep oneself hydrated in such hot conditions. Ends by saying
Afghanistan captain, Asghar Afghan says they also wanted to bat first. Informs that they have made one change as Samiullah Shenwari comes in place of Najibullah Zadran. Adds further that their team has rested and recovered well yesterday to get over the fatigue after playing back-to-back matches. Admits that their last match was tough and hence a bit tiring. Feels that today's game is also important and it was essential for them to get back to full fitness and give their best performance. Ends b
We are done and dusted with the national anthems of both teams and ready to begin proceedings. Out come the Bangladesh openers, Liton Das and Nazmul Hossain Shanto, walk out to the middle. Afghanistan spread out across the field after a last-minute pep talk from their skipper. It's a hot day, and Aftab Alam will be taking the new ball first up. He has a slip in place. Here we go...
0.1 : A Alam to L Das, Wide! False start for Aftab. Hurls it way wide outside off, Das doesn't have anything to do with that. It's across the tramline and that's a wide.
A Alam to L Das, First runs of the afternoon. Liton Das reaches out to this length delivery outside off and runs it down to third man for a single.
0.2 : A Alam to Hossain Shanto, Shaping back in on middle and leg, on a good length, Shanto works it down gently in front of mid-wicket.
0.3 : A Alam to Hossain Shanto, Length delivery on middle and leg, defended solidly to the left of the bowler.
0.4 : A Alam to Hossain Shanto, Moving away from the batsman from around off, a hint of extra bounce on that occasion. Shanto plays it off the outer half square on the off side.
0.5 : A Alam to Hossain Shanto, A bit of a muted appeal but it's turned down, rightly so too, that pitched outside leg. Length ball which raps the southpaw high on the pads. He looks to flick but misses.
0.6 : A Alam to Hossain Shanto, Nicely done. On the pads again, tucked behind square on the leg side and the batsmen rush to come back for the second. Good running.
Mujeeb Ur Rahman to bowl from the other end with the second new ball.
1.1 : Ur Rahman to L Das, Starts with one which drifts into the batsman, Das flicks it into the square leg region and gets a single.
1.2 : Ur Rahman to Hossain Shanto, Tossed up around off, pushed to covers.
1.3 : Ur Rahman to Hossain Shanto, Fuller this time o off, comes on the front foot and drives into the gap in covers to pick up a run.
1.4 : Ur Rahman to L Das, Tossed up, Das played that off the front foot and into the ground.
1.5 : Ur Rahman to L Das, Forst attacking shot against the mystery spinner as Das goes down on one knee and sweeps this hard but uppishly towards deep square leg, it goes to the fielder on the bounce and batsmen cross for a single.
1.6 : Ur Rahman to Hossain Shanto, Shanto does well to skip down the track and covert that into a low full toss, he drives it between the bowler and mid on and gets a brace to end the over.
2.1 : A Alam to L Das, Das has played that off the front foot and into the ground.
2.2 : A Alam to L Das, A bit fuller and wide of off, Das decides to watchfully let it go.
2.3 : A Alam to L Das, Ealks down the track, very Haydenesque, and flicks this short of a length delivery shaping into him over the mid-wicket region. The timing is not the best as the pair complete another brace.
2.4 : A Alam to L Das, A good length ball on off angling into the batsmen, he taps it into the cover region for a single.
2.5 : A Alam to Hossain Shanto, Defended off the back foot by the batsman.

3.2 : Ur Rahman to Hossain Shanto, Fuller around off, Shanto has defended it by getting right behind the line of the delivery.
3.3 : Ur Rahman to Hossain Shanto, Well bowled as he keeps it full on middle and off, Shanto does well to come forward and keep it out.
3.4 : Ur Rahman to Hossain Shanto, Defended off the front foot by the batsman presenting the full face of the bat. Good tight bowling by Rahman.
3.5 : Ur Rahman to Hossain Shanto, Full on off, defended off the front foot.
3.6 : Ur Rahman to Hossain Shanto, Again a bit full and on off, driven to mid off to end a good over by Mujeeb.
4.1 : A Alam to L Das, A bit shorter in length allows Das to wait that bit more and tap it into the point region to get off strike.
4.2 : A Alam to Hossain Shanto, Good intent shown by Shanto as he charges the bowler and flicks a length ball towards mid-wicket but finds the fielder.
4.3 : A Alam to Hossain Shanto, A fuller one this, is driven crisply to the right of mid off for a single.
4.4 : A Alam to L Das, Driven through the covers, no chance of a run.
4.5 : A Alam to L Das, Das will be kicking himself for not punishing that full toss, Alam missing his length completely and ends up dishing out a knee high full angling into Das, Liton tries to swat that into the square leg region, tries to hit it a bit too hard and mistimes it to get just a single.
4.6 : A Alam to Hossain Shanto, OUT! Good tight bowling from the other end has resulted in Shanto going for a non-existent shot against Alam and that has brought about his downfall. Alam keeps it fractionally short of good length in line of the stumps and angling across Hossaain. Shanto looks to swing it wildly over the mid-wicket region, his losses his balance and ends up top edging it straight up in the air towards point where Rahmat Shah pouches it safely. First blood drawn by Afghanistan.
Mohammad Mithun is the new batsman in.
5.1 : Ur Rahman to M Mithun, Quicker one around off, it goes off the outer half on the off side and the batsmen take a single.
5.2 : Ur Rahman to L Das, Full and in line of the stumps, driven towards mid on for a quick single.
5.3 : Ur Rahman to M Mithun, OUT! That's dead plumb. No chance for Mithun to survive that from any angle. Two wickets in quick succession for Afghanistan. They're on a roll here. Coming in sharply from around off, like a medium pacer's delivery. Mithun looks to defend but gets caught on the front pad. Big appeal and the finger quickly goes up. The batsman didn't even think of taking the DRS, it was that obvious.
Mushfiqur Rahim to bat next. He walks in with Bangladesh in a spot of bother. Will have to play a big knock again.
5.4 : Ur Rahman to M Rahim, Angling in on a shorter length on off, Rahim stays deep inside the crease and keeps it out off the back foot.
5.5 : Ur Rahman to M Rahim, Comes half-forward on this occasion and presents a defensive bat in response.
5.6 : Ur Rahman to M Rahim, Uses the angle to work it away on the leg side, but straight to the fielder. Another successful over for Afghanistan.
6.1 : A Alam to L Das, A bit shorter of good length, tapped to covers.
6.2 : A Alam to L Das, A fuller one this and a bit wide wide of off, Liton throws his bat at it and square drives it past the right of point to get another two.
6.3 : A Alam to L Das, Smart batting as he steers this to third man to get off strike.
6.4 : A Alam to M Rahim, Soft hands were the key there as Rahim waits for the inward shaping length delivery on middle and off to come near him and tucks it into the square leg region to pick up a good single to get off the mark.
6.5 : A Alam to L Das, Fuller ball in middle is driven politely to mid on and Liton gets another single.
6.6 : A Alam to M Rahim, Fuller on off, driven to cover.
7.1 : Ur Rahman to L Das, Tossed up ball on middle, turned away into mid-wicket to get a run.

7.5 : Ur Rahman to M Rahim, Rahim goes down and sweep is nicely but straight to the man at square leg.
7.6 : Ur Rahman to M Rahim, Nicely driven to long on to retain the strike. Mujjeb gives just two again and is building some good pressure.
Gulbadin Naib comes in to bowl.
8.1 : G Naib to M Rahim, Poor cricket all round. Naibs starts off with a short and wide delivery, Rahim cuts it well but straight to extra cover who misfields it and concedes the run. They to buck up here.
8.2 : G Naib to L Das, Played to the point region by Das for no run.
8.3 : G Naib to L Das, This time he does well by opening the face a bit and steers it to third man to cross over and change strike.
8.4 : G Naib to M Rahim, Full length ball on off is driven to mid off.
8.5 : G Naib to M Rahim, Smart batting again by the experienced Rahim as he goes on the back foot to this back of a length ball around off and taps it into the point region to get a single.
8.6 : G Naib to L Das, FOUR! Super shot! Das sees the sull length and a bit of width on this, he leans across and creams his drive through covers, his placement and timing is supreme which gets a boundary and gets the first one of the innings.
9.1 : Ur Rahman to M Rahim, The batsman shows the full face of the bat and defends the ball off the back foot.
0.0 : A stumping referral against Mushfiqur Rahim is taken upstairs.
9.2 : Ur Rahman to M Rahim, NOT OUT! Well bowled Mujeeb, totally bamboozling the batsmen os this mystery spinner. He keeps it full around off, Rahim tries to drive it through the off side but gets beaten as the ball turns away. Shazad whips the bails off and appeals which is taken upstairs by the leg umpire. Replays roll in and show that the batsman was comfortably in.
9.3 : Ur Rahman to M Rahim, Fuller and straighter, worked into square leg for a single.
9.4 : Ur Rahman to L Das, Defended off the back foot by the batsman.
9.5 : Ur Rahman to L Das, Tossed up around off, kept out safely off the front foot.

Powerplay 2 has been signaled. Now a maximum of 4 fielders will be allowed outside the ring till the 40th over.
10.1 : G Naib to L Das, Opens the bat face and guides it towards third man to get off strike on the very first ball of the over.
10.2 : G Naib to M Rahim, FOUR! That's 5000 ODI runs for Rahim, the second Bangladeshi to get to that mark after Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan. Rahim takes on the short ball as he swivels and pulls it fine of the fine leg fielder and the ball races across the boundary to bring Rahim's first boundary. He's up and running.
10.3 : G Naib to M Rahim, Rahim has played this to mid-wicket region.
10.4 : G Naib to M Rahim, Length ball on off is kept out safely off the front foot.
10.5 : G Naib to M Rahim, A bit slower and shorter in length, tapped into the point region.
10.6 : G Naib to M Rahim, Fuller again around off, goes back and pushes it to point.
11.1 : Ur Rahman to L Das, No run.
11.2 : Ur Rahman to L Das, No run.
11.3 : Ur Rahman to L Das, No run.
11.4 : Ur Rahman to L Das, Slower and fuller ball on off is flicked into the mid-wicket region and the batsmen run a single.
11.5 : Ur Rahman to M Rahim, Dropped! Will this be the turning point, has Insanuhhal has spilled it down. Rahim looks to play at this fuller length ball around off, he tentatively pokes his bat in front of his pads to block this one but the ball spins away ever so slightly and takes the outside edge which flies to first slip. Insanullah moves swiftly to his left, gets a hand on it but cannot hold onto it. The ball drops down onto the ground and Mushfiqur Rahim survives.
11.6 : Ur Rahman to M Rahim, Full and straight, flicked to mid-wicket.
12.1 : G Naib to L Das, Good length ball close to off, blocked from within the crease.
12.2 : G Naib to L Das, FOUR! Wonderful aggression from Liton Das. Stays positive and gives the charge to this length ball. Lifts it cleanly over mid off and the ball seemingly hits the rope. The umpire isn't sure, it looks like a maximum to the naked eye, but it's taken upstairs. Replays show that it bounced just before crashing into it. So a boundary is signalled.
12.3 : G Naib to L Das, Just ahead of a length, around off, kept out off the front foot.
12.4 : G Naib to L Das, Wide! Banged in short but it's too short, wide called by the umpire.
G Naib to L Das, Outside off on a good length, dabbed to point from within the crease. A single is taken.
12.5 : G Naib to M Rahim, Good delivery. Angles in first before shaping away off the seam. Rahim closes the face a little early and hence it goes off the leading edge down to third man. The batsmen take one.
12.6 : G Naib to L Das, Fraction straight in line, worked off the pads on the leg side for a run.
Mohammad Nabi is brought on into the attack.
13.1 : M Nabi to L Das, Tossed up on off, driven softly to mid on to get a single.
13.2 : M Nabi to M Rahim, A bit straighter this on, angling into the batsman, Rahim flicks it into the square leg region for a single.
13.3 : M Nabi to L Das, Tossed up ball around middle and off, flicked again to mid-wicket and gets a single.
13.4 : M Nabi to M Rahim, Nabi drops it short, Rahim goes back and cuts it past point, gets a brace as the timing is not perfect.
13.5 : M Nabi to M Rahim, The batsman has punched the ball off the back foot.
13.6 : M Nabi to M Rahim, Rahim goes down for the sweep, connects it well but the ball goes straight to the fielder at deep square leg. He keeps strike.
14.1 : G Naib to M Rahim, Rahim has missed out on a scoring opportunity, Naib lands this short and wide of off, it's there to be cut and Rahim does exactly that, but again he has found the fielder at point.
14.2 : G Naib to M Rahim, Good ball by Naib as he keeps this in the corridor of uncertainty, Rahim defends off the front foot.
14.3 : G Naib to M Rahim, Naib again bowls this on a length outsuide off, its the leg cutter this time, Rahim looks to steer it down to third man by opening the bat face but gets beaten by the slower pace and Shahzad does the rest behind.
14.4 : G Naib to M Rahim, The batsman has played it to the point region.
14.5 : G Naib to M Rahim, Good bowling this by Naib, he's not drifting from his line or length and Rahim has to block it out off the back foot this time.
14.6 : G Naib to M Rahim, Fires this on his pads, Rahim turns it into the square leg region for a single.
15.1 : M Nabi to M Rahim, Defended off the front foot by the batsman presenting the full face of the bat.
15.2 : M Nabi to M Rahim, Nabi from around the wicket keeps it in line with the stumps, Rahim comes forward and blocks it out with soft hands.
15.3 : M Nabi to M Rahim, A bit fuller this one on middle and off, Rahim plants his front foot across and works this one through mid-wicket for a single.
15.4 : M Nabi to L Das, Das goes down and paddles this full ball on middle, gets a fine touch on it and the ball races towards the fine leg boundary and the batsmen come back for a brace.
15.5 : M Nabi to L Das, Fuller one this is flicked into the mid-wicket region to pick up another single.
15.6 : M Nabi to M Rahim, Rahim improvises as he opens his stance completely, covers the stumps and triers to go for the ramp shot and get the ball behind over the keeper's head. He paddle-scoops it over Shahzad for a brace to end the over.
Aftab Alam returns to the attack.
16.1 : A Alam to L Das, Bouncer! Das ducks under the bouncer at the last moment.
16.2 : A Alam to L Das, Marginally shorter of good length around off, Das taps it into the point region to get a quick single.
16.3 : A Alam to M Rahim, Length ball driven back to the bowler.
16.4 : A Alam to M Rahim, FOUR! Rahim gives the charge, sees the ball banged in short but still goes for the pull. The front foot forehand swat goes through the mid-wicket region racing through and across the ropes in a flash. Rahim has had enough of it, it seems.
16.5 : A Alam to M Rahim, SIX! A maximum this time. Alam again bangs it in short and gets the ball rising onto Rahim, Rahim stays back and goes for the pull shit and gets a top edge. The ball flies down towards fine leg and the pace on it has taken the ball sailing over the ropes to bring up the first biggie of the innings. The 50 stand also comes up.
16.6 : A Alam to M Rahim, A bit shorter this on off, cuts it to point.
Drinks. Afghanistan did well to get two early wickets and force the Bangladesh batsmen on the back foot. But the pair of Liton Das and Mushfiqur Rahim have steadied their ship. They will want to continue further and go deeper into their innings. Afghanistan will look to break this stand as early as possible.
17.1 : M Nabi to L Das, Tossed up on off, flicked into the mid-wicket region for a single.
17.2 : M Nabi to M Rahim, A bit shorter and quicker outside off, Rahim tries to play it late towards the third man region but hits it straight to the man at short third man.
17.3 : M Nabi to M Rahim, Similar ball to the previous one, Rahim tries to cut but misses.
17.4 : M Nabi to M Rahim, A short delivery which has been pulled away by Rahim for a single.
17.5 : M Nabi to L Das, Das tucks this full delivery into mid-wicket to get a run.
17.6 : M Nabi to M Rahim, Nabi keeps a bit shorter around off, Rahim goes back and across to work it into the square leg region and gets one.
Rashid Khan, Bangladesh's biggest threat, comes into the attack.
18.1 : R Khan to M Rahim, A flatter and fuller one to start, Rahim plays it into mid-wicket.
18.2 : R Khan to M Rahim, A bit shorter this from Rashid and this allows Rahim to rock back and punch it into the gap at cover-point and goes to the other end.
18.3 : R Khan to L Das, FOUR! Class! That is so elegant and classic from Das. Rashid tosses this one up and keeps it on off. Das, every so gently, plays a lofted extra cover drive, his timing is exquisite and placement is even better as the ball races through for a boundary. That's how you play Rashid Khan.
18.4 : R Khan to L Das, OUT! Classic cricket one ball and some irresponsible cricket on the next. This is full and on the off stump, ripping away late, it has an inward drift. He goes down looking to sweep, a risky shot against this bowler because of his pace. Gets a top edge on it and Insanullah in the slip region settles under it and takes it with a couple of steps to his right. That is a very sad ending to a promising innings.
Shakib Al Hasan is the new batsman in for Bangladesh. He usually comes in at number 3 for his side, but this time has come down the order so that he can deal with Afghanistan's biggest weapon, Rashid Khan.
18.5 : R Khan to Al Hasan, The batsman defends it from within the crease.
18.6 : R Khan to Al Hasan, OUT run out (Samiullah Shenwari). Bangladesh have lost their fourth wicket.

19.3 : M Nabi to I Kayes, The batsman has defended it by getting right behind the line of the delivery.
19.4 : M Nabi to I Kayes, Drifting in on leg, Kayes clips it off his pads fine down the leg side for a single.

19.6 : M Nabi to I Kayes, Short and flat from Nabi, Kayes guards it out safely off the back foot.
20.1 : R Khan to M Rahim, The googly from Rashid, on middle and leg, worked away towards square leg. Dot ball.
20.2 : R Khan to M Rahim, Spinning away from around off, pushed into the covers for a single.
20.3 : R Khan to I Kayes, FOUR! Just uses the pace and a misfield from the man at short fine leg helps his cause. Turning in on the pads, Kayes works it fine down the leg side. The fielder moves to his left, tumbles but can't stop the ball. A boundary results.
20.4 : R Khan to I Kayes, Hangs back to this one and keeps it out with the full face of the bat.
Well what's happening here? Total mayhem. Rahim has been run out, but has Rashid fallen on the stumps before taking the bails off? Only thing that could save him there. Let's see now...
20.5 : R Khan to I Kayes, OUT! Rahim is out of here! This is a big, big wicket for the Afghans. Kayes works this in front of square leg and calls for the run. Mushfiqur is halfway down the track and at this point, Imrul sends his back. Nabi gets to the ball and throws it to Rashid. The bowler collects, runs back and takes the bails off. Rahim is well out of the crease, but the issue remains whether he took the bails off with his leg first. Replays roll in as the umpire refers it upstairs and they
Mahmudullah walks into the middle now. Bangladesh in big trouble.
20.6 : R Khan to I Kayes, The wrong 'un outside off, dabbed to point to end another successful over from Rashid.
21.1 : M Nabi to Mahmudullah, Slanting across outside off, full in length, pushed by coming forward to point for one.
21.2 : M Nabi to I Kayes, Works it off his pads into the leg side but for no run.

21.4 : M Nabi to Mahmudullah, Uses his feet to step out and blocks this one down.
21.5 : M Nabi to Mahmudullah, Shorter in length and spinning in around off, Mahmudullah camps back and defends it right under his nose.
21.6 : M Nabi to Mahmudullah, Short again, it's smacked off the back foot through the covers for a couple of runs. Mahmudullah is off the mark.

23.5 : M Nabi to I Kayes, Stays right behind the line and blocks it out.
23.6 : M Nabi to I Kayes, Imrul comes forward to this loopy delivery and eases it down to long off. One run to end the over.
24.1 : R Khan to I Kayes, Landing on a driving length, Kayes plants his front foot forward and flicks it through to deep mid-wicket for a run.
24.2 : R Khan to Mahmudullah, Spinning away from outside off, Mahmudullah plays it from the outer half towards point.
24.3 : R Khan to Mahmudullah, Keeps it full, a lot of air and close to off, it's blocked out off the front foot.
24.4 : R Khan to Mahmudullah, Plays this with the spin and pushes it to the cover region for nothing.
24.5 : R Khan to Mahmudullah, Short, flat and outside off, dabbed with an open face to point.
24.6 : R Khan to Mahmudullah, Another dot. Tight over from the leggie. Brings out the googly this time but Mahmudullah picks it up. Goes back and forces it away on the off side.
Gulbadin Naib is back.
25.1 : G Naib to I Kayes, Fullish in length, straighter in line, Kayes works it through square leg for a single.
25.2 : G Naib to Mahmudullah, FOUR! A boundary after almost 5 overs for Bangladesh. Just shows the dominance of the Afghans. They need more of these. Length ball with width offered outside off, Mahmudullah fiercely cuts this behind point and finds the fence.

25.4 : G Naib to I Kayes, In the off stump channel from around the wicket, firmly blocked in front of cover.
25.5 : G Naib to I Kayes, Could have been another run out. The Tigers look nervy out in the middle. Kayes works this on the leg side and initially calls for the run. Though this time, he sends his partner back in time. No harm done.
25.6 : G Naib to I Kayes, The left-hander goes square, flicks it through the square for a couple. Better over for Bangladesh, 8 runs from it.
26.1 : R Khan to Mahmudullah, Takes a big stride forward and pushes it to covers.
26.2 : R Khan to Mahmudullah, Down the ground this time, it's knocked down to long off for a run.
26.3 : R Khan to I Kayes, Rashid comes around the wicke to the left-hander and bowls a quicker one full outside off. Kayes forces it square through point and changes ends.
26.4 : R Khan to Mahmudullah, Back to over the wicket, the googly on a shorter length, Mahmudullah backs away and punches it to cover-point. The fielder from point moves to his right and the batsmen take a single.
26.5 : R Khan to I Kayes, Knocked down to long on and one more run is added to the total.
26.6 : R Khan to Mahmudullah, Quick and flat and short outside off, a solid punch is offered straight to the man at cover.

28.1 : Ur Rahman to I Kayes, Quick through the air, straighter in line, Kayes works it towards backward square leg. Nabi there moves to his left, tries to take it with one hand but is sloppy with the effort and lets it through. Conceded two as a result.
28.2 : Ur Rahman to I Kayes, From around the wicket, it's darted around off, blocked back down the track with ease.
28.3 : Ur Rahman to I Kayes, Good effort from Rahmat Shah in the deep. Imrul Kayes hits this through the big gap in the covers. It seems the ball will cross the rope but Rahmat Shah out in the deep covers a lot of ground to his left and makes a good diving stop. Keeps the batsmen down to two.
28.4 : Ur Rahman to I Kayes, Back of a length outside off, punched off the back foot down to long on for a single.
28.5 : Ur Rahman to Mahmudullah, Coming in on middle and leg, it goes off the thigh pad of the batsman who tries to flick it away.

29.5 : A Alam to I Kayes, Angling back in on middle stump, Imrul once more moves inside the line and works it on the leg side. Once he played it, he realizes he missed out. Could have lifted it over the infield.
The slip is moved out now.
29.6 : A Alam to I Kayes, Fires in the yorker, it's in line of the stumps, the southpaw does well to jam it out.
30.1 : Ur Rahman to Mahmudullah, No spin whatsoever on this as Mujeeb bowls it shorter outside off, Mahmudullah punches it through covers after backing away and gets a single for it.

Drinks are on the field. Bangladesh have recovered well after that middle-overs mishap. From 81/2 they were reeling at 87/5, all down to some horrible communication in the middle, resulting in needless run outs. But since then, Kayes and Mahmudullah have taken things under control with a 50-partnership and even taken the attack to the opposition bowlers on occasion. This final phase should be an interesting one to say the least.

A splendid turnaround from Bangladesh. From being 87/5 they have managed to almost touch the 250-mark and it's all thanks to the century stand between Mahmudullah and Kayes. Electing to bat, the Tigers lost a couple of early wickets but found their way back when Das and Rahim put up 63 between them. Though, some brainfade moments in the middle which resulted in a couple of run outs put Afghanistan back on top. The game seemed to slip away but the marathon Mahmudullah-Kayes stand of 128 turned th
The Afghanistan bowlers will be disappointed with the fact that they couldn't capitalize on the advantageous position they were in at one stage. They will rue the fact that they didn't finish things off and let Bangladesh run away like they did. Aftab Alam led the charge with 3 wickets while Mujeeb and Rashid picked 1 apiece. Though, it can be argued that Mahmudullah and Kayes did play them well, especially Rashid, taking no major risks against him. Now, the Afghans have a big task ahead of them

41.4 : M Mortaza to H Shahidi, Shortish in length, angling in with the natural around the wicket angle. Pulled away in front of square leg for a single.
41.5 : M Mortaza to M Nabi, Wide! Bangladesh need to keep a check on the extras, especially in a tight game like this. Slips this one down the leg side, Nabi tries to play it away but misses.

Mortaza delivers an off cutter around off. Shahidi shuffles across, crouches and tries to scoop it over short fine leg but has no pace to work with. Gets beaten as the ball kisses his back pad and deflects onto the stumps. This is Mortaza's 250th ODI wicket. Afghanistan need 58 from 39 balls.
Samiullah Shenwari is the new man in.
43.4 : M Mortaza to S Shenwari, Back of a length ball, punched out off the back foot.

Seems like Afghanistan have lost another one. Shenwari has been trapped in front of the stumps but after having a chat with his partner, he opts for the review. Looks dead to the naked eye.
44.3 : Al Hasan to S Shenwari, Not Out! Well, I was completely wrong there. Brilliant use of the DRS from Afghanistan. Coming in with the arm and straightening ever so slightly. Shenwari goes for the reverse sweep but misses to get hit on the front pad. Up go the Bangladesh players in unison and the umpire obliges. Samiullah walks across to his partner and after some discussion, signals for the 'T.' Time for replays. There is nothing on Snicko. Now, here is the surprise. Hawk Eye rolls in and sh

Mustafizur Rahman returns to the attack.
45.1 : M Rahman to M Nabi, Fuller length delivery angling across, Nabi throws his bat at this and finds point. Still takes off and completes the run without any trouble.
0.0 : Mustafizur is down with a bit of a cramp in his hamstring. Nothing too serious though, from the looks of things he should be fine to continue.

47.2 : M Rahman to S Shenwari, FOUR! Oh that's poor positioning. Should have been right at the rope. He was too far in and hence missed the catch. Behind and that's an easy catch. Shenwari pulls this short ball on off and sends it flying towards deep mid-wicket. Shanto is the man there and he leaps ahead, only to miss it. It goes over him and falls just inside the rope before going across.
Review taken. It's for an lbw decision against Samiullah Shenwari. The ball seemingly has pitched outside leg. Over to the TV umpire now.
47.3 : M Rahman to S Shenwari, Not out! Shenwari survives. Mustafizur bowls the cutter on a fullish length and it raps Samiullah on the pads who for some strange reason gets low to sweep it away. Big appeal and the umpire doesn't bother with it. Bangladesh contemplate and eventually take the DRS. Replays show that the ball pitched outside the line of leg stump. Also, there was a slight glove on it. So a run taken as well.

Shakib Al Hasan will bowl the penultimate over.
48.1 : Al Hasan to S Shenwari, Good running. Samiullah works it down in front of mid-wicket and within no time calls for the run. Both batsmen take off and complete the run.
48.2 : Al Hasan to M Nabi, SIX! Take a bow, Mohammad Nabi. Doing it for his team and taking it home. Beautiful. Shakib floats it up and Nabi gives the charge. Connects sweetly and sends it sailing deep into the long off stands for a biggie.
48.3 : Al Hasan to M Nabi, OUT! Gone next ball! What's going to happen here? Nobody can tell. Can go either way. Nabi takes it on the full and looks to clear wide long off. Doesn't get enough elevation on it and it flies towards Shanto there. He moves to his left and takes a good diving catch. Nabi departs, but he's brought his team in a good position.
Rashid Khan in next.

49.1 : M Rahman to R Khan, Superbly placed. Length delivery around off, Khan backs away and slaps it past the diving extra cover fielder. That instantly means an extra run and the batsmen take two as the sweeper mops it up.
49.2 : M Rahman to R Khan, OUT! Rashid doesn't last very long! Mustafizur cramps Khan for room seeing him back away. Bangs it short and the batsman looks to swing across the line. Gets it off the top half and it pops back to the bowler who gobbles it up. Still 6 in 4. Still some batting left for Afghanistan. The game, still very much in the balance.
Gulbadin Naib will be the new man in.
49.3 : M Rahman to S Shenwari, Everyone is appealing for a catch but the umpire signals a leg bye. Interesting. Length ball around leg, the cutter, Shenwari looks to clear short fine leg but apparently misses and the ball lobs towards the same position. Mortaza takes the catch and all appeal, but in vain. A leg bye is taken.
49.4 : M Rahman to G Naib, Beaten! Length delivery hurled across, Naib swings and misses.
49.5 : M Rahman to G Naib, Another leg bye. 4 needed to win now for Afghanistan. If the heat in Abu Dhabi wasn't enough, this game just brought a whole lot more with it. The left-armer lands a length ball on the stumps, Naib moves across his sticks to scoop it over the keeper's head but it goes off his pads towards short fine leg and the batsmen cross over.
49.6 : M Rahman to S Shenwari, And that's it! BANGLADESH WIN BY 3 RUNS! What an over from Mustafizur Rahman. Still so young but has so much experience already and he's shown that here tonight. Superb stuff. He angles it across the batsman on a back of a length, Shenwari goes for the big pull. Misses the ball and the bat slips out of his hands as well.
Death bowling at its best. The left-armer Rahman shows once again why he's one of the best in the business. Afghanistan came close, but just couldn't get themselves over the line. For the neutral, it made for some excellent viewing. One to remember for a good while.
Chasing a target of 250, Afghanistan didn't get off to the best of starts losing two early wickets. Post that, the Bangla bowlers kept applying the pressure and kept the run flow very much in check. There were two good partnerships in the middle, one between Shahzad and Shahidi and the next between Shahidi and Asghar, but the former went at a slow rate and that hampered things quite a lot. Still, despite that, some big hitting towards the end from Nabi saw his team come close, but it wasn't to b
Bangladesh were good with the ball for the most part. Started well, were frugal but just lost it a bit towards the end when Nabi decided to take the attack to them, but a phenomenal last over from Mustafizur ensured they got maximum points from this game. Mortaza was good in his second spell when he came back on, the rest were decent, but Mustafizur was sensational. A lot of the credit for the win goes to him. Earlier in the day, Bangladesh got close to 250 on the back of a century stand between

Also feels that Mustafizur is a very good bowler with lots of variations and he bowled really well in the death overs. Mentio
Mashrafe Mortaza, the Bangladesh captain says, end of the match must was like a magician. We could no9t score 8-9 runs, but this time we defended. Shakib bowled really well in the death, Must focus was to look for wicket and stop run flow. Mahmudullah and Kayes played really well on this slow and sticky pitch not the best for batting, they played well to get that total. Must was running a bit slow and bowled cutter as he was not able to bowl the yorkers because of his calf strain,. This win will
Man of the Match, Mahmudullah says that the weather was hot and he was feeling a bit tired while he was batting. Adds further that they did well at the end to keep their nerves and eventually win it. Bangladesh win and keep themselves in the hunt. A good showing with the ball in the death, along with some fine batting from the middle order puts them in a virtual semi-final when they face Pakistan in a few days. Also, another Afghanistan game, another thrilling contest. It's been a roller coaster ride for them in this tournament, but there's still one more game to go. This team has taken great strides forward in its progress, so they'd like to cap it off with a win. They face India on Tuesday
