0.0 : Hello and welcome to the first Day/Night game of the ICC Champions Trophy, 2017 between Australia and Bangladesh. The former's first match got spoilt by rain and they would be eager to get their first win of this tournament today. The Asian side on the other hand posted a decent total against England but eventually came second.
The Kangaroos are the favourites to win this game but you can never count out the Tigers as they have a record of creating upsets in a major tournament. The previous two games at The Oval weren't interrupted by rain but today showers have been predicted through the day. The overhead conditions also suggest the same as it's already overcast but let's hope that the rain stays away and we get a full game of cricket.
TOSS - BANGLADESH WIN THE TOSS AND THEY WILL HAVE A BAT FIRST!
Mashrafe Mortaza says they would like to bat first. Adds this can be a very good wicket to bat on since it's a used pitch and might become slower later on. Mentions they have one change, Mehedi Hasan is in for Mosaddek Hossain. Feels that they were a bowler short last time around but it's not the same this time. States this is a different wicket and they will bat first and put runs on the board.
Steven Smith says they would have had a bat as well as it's a used wicket. States that the conditions are overcast, so would like to make the most of that. Lets everybody know there's one change, Adam Zampa is in for John Hastings. Adds they have some class players in their line-up and would like to use them. Finishes by saying it's a high pressure situation and pretty much every game is important for them so would like to do their best.
Pitch Report - Ian Bishop is surprised as to how even Bhuvneshwar Kumar hasn't been able to get any swing here. The wicket is a bit slow with some patches on it and the spinners will come into play as the game progresses. Reckons though that with the overhead conditions, the Australian bowlers, especially Mitchell Starc, should get some movement early on.
The players are out for their respective national anthems. Players from both the teams have worn a black armband to protest against terrorist attacks that took place in London.

Drinks break! Australia are in a better position as things stand. They've cramped the Bangladesh batsmen for room and scalped a couple of wickets as well. The track is only going to get slower from here. Bangladesh will have to really apply themselves with the bat.

An excellent bowling performance from Australia. They started off well, cramped the Bangladeshi batsmen for runs, gave away some runs in the middle and finished off well in the death. Barring Glenn Maxwell, everybody chipped in with the wickets with Mitchell Starc scalping all 4 of his right towards the end, with 3 of them coming in a single over. Adam Zampa was brought in after the 34th over strangely and despite that, he picked up 2 wickets. Says it all about the Aussies in the field today.
Tamim Iqbal once again was the standout batsman for the Tigers. Shakib Al Hasan provided him some support in the middle as the duo put up a 69-run stand, but he departed against the run of play. Tamim carried on and in the quest to up the ante, fell short of what would have been a deserving century. The target is an easy one for Australia to chase and if the rain doesn't interrupt, they'll back themselves to gun it down. Join us in a while for the second half of the match.
