0.1 : 0.1: D Chahar to R Sharma, FOUR! Mumbai are away in style! Chahar overpitches it outside off, Rohit leans into the drive and crunches it square of the wicket on the off side for a boundary.
2.1: D Chahar to de Kock, SIX! De Kock has dismissed it from his presence. Chahar serves it short and on middle, Quinton turns inside the crease and powers his pull shot over square leg for a maximum.
2.2 : 2.2: D Chahar to de Kock, FOUR! Delightful shot! Width on offer outside off, it's on a length and de Kock drives it crisply through covers. Once it beats the fielder inside the circle, it's always a boundary. 10 from the first two overs...
2.4 : 2.4: D Chahar to de Kock, OUT! Slower delivery consumes de Kock this time. Well bowled by Chahar. He dishes it on a short of a length on middle at 116.2 kph, Quinton is early into his attempted horizontal bat shot and gets a big top edge. It flies straight up and Rayudu walks ahead to take the catch behind the stumps. Early setback for Mumbai as they lose their in-form opener.
4.2 : 4.2: D Chahar to E Lewis, FOUR! Nicely played! Short in length around middle and leg, Lewis glances it off his hips and it speeds in front of square leg for a boundary.
4.3 : 4.3: D Chahar to E Lewis, FOUR! Lucky for Lewis. He nearly dragged it down. Short in length and outside off at 120.7 kph, Lewis stands back to pack a punch through covers but it catches the inside edge and runs past the keeper for a boundary at fine leg.
4.6 : 4.6: D Chahar to R Sharma, FOUR! Wow, what a shot by Sharma! Chahar is on the shorter side again but the line this time is on middle and leg. Rohit swivels on the back foot and pulls it behind square leg for a boundary. 16 from the over, Chahar proving to be expensive today.
7.2 : 7.2: H Singh to R Sharma, SIX! High and handsome! Tossed up ball around off, turning back in, Rohit runs down the track and dispatches it over wide long on for a biggie. Sweetly struck.
7.4 : 7.4: H Singh to R Sharma, SIX! Sharma is on the charge! Once again he dances down the track to a full ball on off and muscles it straight over the bowler's head for a biggie.
8.4: I Tahir to E Lewis, SIX! Lewis takes on Tahir! The leggie is very full with his length, it's around off and the West Indian powerhouse has clubbed it over the bowler's head for a maximum. 50-run stand comes up!
8.5 : 8.5: I Tahir to E Lewis, FOUR! Bang! Tahir goes quicker, it's flat and full around off at 102.7 kph, Lewis stands his ground and whips it down the ground for a boundary as the long on fielder runs across to his right.
10.4 : 10.4: M Santner to R Sharma, FOUR! Flatter and fuller on off, Rohit makes room and stretches forward before swatting it through backward point. The fielder in the deep chases across to his left but the ball wins the race.
11.5 : 11.5: D Bravo to R Sharma, FOUR! Well played! Short in length and outside off, Rohit quietly waits on the back foot and at the last moment ramps it down to third man for a boundary.
12.1 : 12.1: M Santner to E Lewis, OUT! Lewis holes out! Nothing much wrong in the shot selection but the West Indian fails to middle it properly. Flighted delivery, landing full on middle, this one is right in the slot and Evin decides to heave it over the leg side. But it catches the inner half of his bat and flies straight down to Dwayne Bravo at deep mid-wicket. The 75-run stand is broken and Chennai would like to build on this.
13.1: I Tahir to K Pandya, OUT! Krunal holes out now! 2 wickets in the space of 7 balls. Identical to the fashion in which Lewis got out. Full and around off, Pandya gets down to slog sweep but does not middle it properly. Mitchell Santner is waiting for it at deep mid-wicket and all of a sudden Mumbai are in trouble...
15.1: I Tahir to R Sharma, FOUR! A good attempt in the deep by Shorey but to no avail. A long hop on middle and off, Rohit gets back and pulls it to deep mid-wicket. Shorey runs across to his right in the deep, puts in a dive but fails to pull it back.
15.2 : 15.2: I Tahir to R Sharma, FOUR! Two in two for Rohit! Tahir alters his length and goes too full this time. It's flat and on middle, Sharma takes his front leg forward and heaves it over mid-wicket. This time Shorey sprints across to his left but fails to keep it inside the rope.
15.6 : 15.6: I Tahir to R Sharma, SIX! Make it a 16-run over from Tahir. Tossed up ball on middle, Rohit kneels and slog sweeps it over mid-wicket. Shorey in the deep tries his best to jump and catch it but the ball sails over his head.
16.2 : 16.2: M Santner to R Sharma, OUT! Body blow to Mumbai, Rohit Sharma is dismissed. Santner follows the batsman down the leg side with a flat and full delivery, Sharma aims to go downtown but fails to generate enough power or timing behind his shot. Murali Vijay in the deep at long on takes the simplest of catches. A fine knock by the Mumbai skipper but he would have liked to bat till the end.
18.3 : 18.3: D Chahar to K Pollard, FOUR! Not in control but still a boundary. Chahar delivers a short ball again, on the slower side, Pollard drags his pull shot behind square leg and there is no protection in the deep.
19.1 : 19.1: D Bravo to K Pollard, FOUR! Boom! Bravo delivers it slower and fuller outside off, Pollard throws all his power behind his shot and spanks it over the bowler's head for a boundary.
19.4 : 19.4: D Bravo to H Pandya, FOUR! Yet another boundary down the ground. Bravo misses his mark and it's a low full toss around off, Hardik gives it the full whack of his bat and smacks it down the ground for a boundary.
19.5 : 19.5: D Bravo to H Pandya, SIX! This one has disappeared! Slower delivery again from Bravo but it's on a fuller length outside off, Pandya shows his muscle power there as he deposits it over long on for a biggie. 150 up for Mumbai.
0.2 : 0.2: L Malinga to S Watson, FOUR! Good attempt Lewis but it goes in vain. Malinga smiles as he returns to his mark. Back of a length delivery on off, Watson goes on the back foot and punches it through cover-point. Evin gives the chase, puts in a dive, tries to pull it back but ends up going beyond the rope with the ball. Watson has started brightly.
0.3 : 0.3: L Malinga to S Watson, FOUR! This is a help-yourself delivery. On a good length and drifting down the leg side, Watson deflects it neatly off his pads and beats short fine leg.
0.5 : 0.5: L Malinga to S Watson, OUT! Watson is gone! A nothing delivery. Malinga has bowled many great deliveries to remove the batsmen and this has to be one of the very few poor ones of which he has hunted down a victim. Too full in length and angling down the leg side, Watson picks it off his pads to play the flick shot, middles it nicely also but ends up handing a straightforward catch to Rahul Chahar at short fine leg.
2.2 : 2.2: L Malinga to M Vijay, FOUR! Short in length and outside off, Vijay remains on the back foot with his bat hanging out. It finds the middle of the bat and flies over point for a boundary.
3.1 : 3.1: H Pandya to S Raina, OUT! Raina departs and it's a massive setback for Chennai! Poor shot selection from the stand-in skipper. Pandya angles across a good length delivery outside off, Raina steps out for a big shot but fails to control his shot. It flies off the top edge and Suryakumar Yadav gets underneath it at backward point to complete the catch. The crowd has gone quiet. Mumbai have begun brilliantly.
3.3 : 3.3: H Pandya to M Vijay, FOUR! Vijay is timing his shots superbly! Pandya serves one on the pads and Murali flicks it beautifully behind square leg for a boundary. Glorious.
3.4 : 3.4: H Pandya to M Vijay, SIX! All timing, no power. Fullish and outside off, Vijay strides forward and lofts it nonchalantly over the bowler's head for a biggie. A well-timed maximum sometimes looks better than the muscled one.
4.3 : 4.3: K Pandya to A Rayudu, OUT! Right through the gate! Krunal Pandya roars in delight and it seems that someone has pressed the mute button inside the stadium. A well-disguised arm ball at 99.1 kph, landing on middle and skidding off the surface after kissing the turf. Rayudu strides forward to play it with a straight bat but it skids through, beats his bat and hits the top of the stumps. Chennai in deep trouble.
5.6 : 5.6: J Bumrah to M Vijay, FOUR! But what an effort in the deep by Krunal Pandya! Full marks to him. Bumrah delivers it on the shorter side around off, Vijay rises on his back foot to help it across the line but it takes the top edge and flies behind square leg. Krunal comes steaming in from the deep to attempt for the catch, dives forward but it falls just short of him. It then hits his hands and rolls behind to meet the fence as Krunal once again tries his best to pull it back with a dive. Top
7.2 : 7.2: K Pandya to K Jadhav, OUT! Senior Pandya strikes again! Wicket number 4 goes down for Chennai and they are staring down the barrel. Another arm ball from his quiver has handed him success. It's served around off at 98.5 kph and the ball skids off the surface. Jadhav goes deep inside the crease to play the square cut but it's too close to his body. The ball brushes his front pad first before taking the bottom edge and going onto the stumps. Jadhav's poor season continues...
9.6 : 9.6: A Roy to D Shorey, OUT! Taken! The wickets continue to crumble. Flighted outside off, Shorey comes down the track and looks to slog this out of the ground. But he is not to the pitch of the ball and mistimes it towards wide long on. Simple catch for Rahul Chahar at the boundary.
11.4 : 11.4: J Bumrah to M Vijay, OUT! The ball has carried. Catching practice. Wow. Wickets are falling like ninepins. Fractionally short in length outside off, Vijay cuts that away and cannot keep it down. The ball dips on its way to Suryakumar Yadav at point butt he dives to his right and takes a splendid catch. He immediately celebrates but Vijay is not sure. Bravo, his partner, immediately shakes his head. The umpires confer and then give the soft signal as out. Replays take a long while and event
13.3 : 13.3: H Pandya to D Bravo, FOUR! Nicely done. A short ball outside off, Bravo stands tall and carves this over short third man and backward point for a boundary!
14.3: R Chahar to D Bravo, FOUR! Finds the gap. Short and outside off, Bravo pulls it wide of the man at mid-wicket and gets the boundary.
15.3: L Malinga to M Santner, SIX! THRASH! A short ball, slower in pace again, Santner picks it in a trice and pulls it over mid-wicket! Still any hope? 60 needed from 27...
15.6 : 15.6: L Malinga to D Bravo, OUT! Caught and bowled! Bravo departs and with that, possibly the last hope of the table-toppers. It has been a barricade of slower balls in this over from Malinga. He finally outsmarts his ex-Mumbai mate. Landed outside off, Dwayne is early into his flick and gets a leading edge behind. Malinga runs back and takes a simple catch.
16.3 : 16.3: J Bumrah to D Chahar, OUT! Caught! Sensational take from Krunal Pandya. Chennai lose their 8th. A short ball, outside off, Chahar pulls it over mid-wicket. Krunal Pandya comes running in, keeps his eyes on the ball and dives full length to take the catch.
17.2 : 17.2: L Malinga to H Singh, OUT! Taken in the deep and number 9 goes down. A short ball, outside off, Harbhajan pulls it high in the air but has not much timing. Simple catch for Hardik Pandya at the wide long on fence.
17.3 : 17.3: L Malinga to M Santner, SIX! Cracking hit. A length ball, Santner swings it over wide long on. It is a flat hit!
17.4 : 17.4: L Malinga to M Santner, OUT! Game, set and match. Four-fer for Malinga and Chennai have been floored at home. A low full toss, Santner backs away and swings hard but cannot quite get underneath the ball. He ends up mistiming it to long on where Kieron Pollard completes the formalities. MUMBAI WIN BY 46 RUNS!
