0.0 : Round 1 between these two went to Iyer's men. How will Round 2 go? Delhi have been unfliching this season, well almost. 5 wins and 2 losses from their 7 games. Rajasthan, well, 3 wins and 4 losses from their 7 matches. Delhi were on a 3-match winning streak before Mumbai halted them. The Men in Pink meanwhile pulled off a heist against Hyderabad in their last game. How will these results play an impact on today's game? Stay tuned as we find out. Toss and team updates coming up shortly... |
Pitch Report - Pommie Mbangwa and Kevin Pietersen are the pitch analysts. Pietersen says that the pitch is a lot drier than in the past 3 weeks. Very little grass is there, he further adds. Mbangwa says that the ball has turned a lot and expects more turn in the games to come. Win the toss and bat, both say unanimously. |
TOSS - Delhi opt to Bat! |
Shreyas Iyer, Delhi's captain, says that he wants to bat first as he expects the pitch to consistently get slower. Adds that everyone has a rough idea about the wicket as they have spent a good deal of time in the middle. Says that they are definitely missing Pant. Informs that Tushar Deshpande comes in for Harshal Patel. |
Steven Smith, Rajasthan's captain, says that he would have opted to bat first as well, had he won the toss. Now, it is to bowl well and restrict them to as low a total as possible. Adds that it is a used wicket. Smith says that it is nice to get a win after 4 straight losses. Informs they are unchanged and Stokes will open. |

1.1 : Jaydev Unadkat to Ajinkya Rahane, Full and well outside off, Rahane leans and looks to drive but misses. Well, it looked to be within the tramline and hence was not wided. |

5.2 : Kartik Tyagi to Shikhar Dhawan, FOUR! Smashed! You will not see a shot which will feel more like a slap than this one. Length ball outside off, Dhawan smashes it through covers for a boundary. This was equivalent of a Knockout punch by a boxer. |

5.4 : Kartik Tyagi to Shreyas Iyer, Length ball on off, Iyer punches it sraight down the ground and rotates the strike. |

DRINKS! A couple of early blows for Delhi, the wickets of Prithvi Shaw and Ajinkya Rahane. But they have recovered fairly well after that, Dhawan has started to go for the big shots, knowing that despite a good score in the last game, his scoring rate was slow. Shreyas Gopal to Shikhar Dhawan, OUT! CAUGHT! Shikhar Dhawan is gone. A big wicket. Fullish and outside off, Dhawan switches to a right hander's stance and looked to work that over third man. 14.5 : Jaydev Unadkat to Shreyas Iyer, Short ball, pulled to Archer at mid-wicket. Iyer comes back in for the second. Excellent running. |
14.6 : Jaydev Unadkat to Shreyas Iyer, OUT! That is a simple catch to the fielder. |
14.5 : Is that a catch? Has Stokes taken it? The front angle seems inconclusive. So they view it from the top. Now, back to the first angle. Signalled as a six! |
14.6 : Jaydev Unadkat to Shreyas Iyer, SIX! He did not time it that well, Iyer. Full and around off, Iyer looks to go big over mid-wicket again. He however does not time it as well as the previous occasion. This one is just looking like it might go over deep mid-wicket. But...Ben Stokes there puts in a magnificent effort. Leaps and throws the ball upwards as he was going into the ropes, to prevent a six. Stokes comes back into play and then holds it. The umpires want to have a look at whether |

Credit to Tyagi as well. He has bowled a fantastic over and deserves this wicket. Full ball around off, Iyer swings but it is a very tired looking shot from the Delhi skipper. He ends up hitting in the air towards mid off. Archer comes running in and takes a very good catch. |
DRINKS! Just as Delhi needed to motor on hard and fast, Iyer perishes. A well made 53 from him, but Delhi needed him to be there till the end. But Stoinis is there, and hence Delhi would pin all their hopes on him to see them to a competitive total. Let's see how much they can get... |

19.4 : Jaydev Unadkat to Alex Carey, OUT! CAUGHT! Two simple catches in the deep for Rajasthan - Stoinis earlier, Carey now. Pace off does the trick. Slow full ball outside off, Carey looks to lift it over long off. However, he gets it off the toe end of the bat and gives catching practice to long off. Jofra Archer takes it with ease. |

A very good finish to the innings by Rajasthan and they have managed to finish the game just the way they started it - in a dominant fashion. Just 18 runs in the final 3 overs along with 3 wickets and the boys from the Pink City will feel they enter the break with momentum on their side.  Delhi, though will not be too displeased with their performance and will back themselves to defend 161 on this slowish track especially with the bowling attack they have. |
After opting to bat, Delhi got off to a terrible start as they lost their key batter, Prithvi Shaw in the very first ball of the innings. Dhawan though looked in the mood and seemed to be batting on a completely different pitch to his other teammates. Dhawan and captain Shreyas Iyer both got 50s but it was a contrasting innings where Dhawan was going hammer and tongs, Iyer struggled but showed fight. Delhi had the base for a big finish but their middle order could not get going on this sluggish |
Excellent bowling display from Rajasthan. They started off well and ended it even better. They gave away just 32 runs and picked up 4 wickets in the final 5 overs which has seen them stay in this game and gain some momentum heading into the break. Jofra Archer set the ball rolling from the very first ball as he dismissed Shaw. He was the star with the ball as he finished with absolutely bonker number of 3/19 from his 4! Unadkat was expensive but finished well and ended up with 2 wickets. Tyagi a |
Shikhar Dhawan says that the wicket is on the slower side. States that it is a used wicket. Adds that they were a bit short though, the way they were going earlier. Dhawan states that he had practiced the reverse sweep but unfortunately it did not pay off today. Finishes off by saying that Delhi can defend this total. |
So the match is evenly poised as we head into the break. Rajasthan need 162 to get their second consecutive win of the season. Delhi will back themselves as their bowlers have been the stars for them so far. We are in for a fantastic chase, so make sure you join us for it in a while but before that let's hear what Delhi's Shikhar Dhawan as to say as he is caught down for a quick chat. |

They say batting wins you matches but bowling wins you the championship. If that saying holds true then this might as well be Delhi's year. Rajasthan will be kicking themselves as they looked on course to win but Delhi have done the double over them this season. |

The pair were motoring along with the chase before Stokes departed. What followed was s |
What a bowling performance from Delhi! They look like a champion side and have the feel of a champion side. This looks like the year their trophy drought gets over. This was a game they had no right to win but champions find a way to win such games and Delhi managed to do just that. Defending 161, Delhi did not start well with the ball. Though they picked two wickets inside the Powerplay, they were also taken to the attack. It was Rajasthan's game till the halfway stage of the chase but after th |
Earlier in the evening, it was Shreyas Iyer who won the crucial toss and opted to bat. His side did not get off to a good start but a blistering 57 off just 33 balls from Dhawan along with a fighting 53 from the skipper himself took the side to a very competitive total of 161 on a pitch that was not easy to bat on. Jofra Archer was fierce and a treat to watch for Rajasthan as he finished with 3/19 but his efforts were not enough for his side to restrict Delhi to a total which Rajasthan could cha |
