DC 154/6 (20)
Delhi Capitals beat Rajasthan Royals by 33 runs
RR 121/6 (20)
Match over
0.0 : Delhi have looked a side full of confidence. Their batting looks good while their bowling is clinical. Anrich Nortje was not picked for the first leg but back here in the UAE, Nortje returned and bowled with extreme pace. There is a concern with Marcus Stoinis as he suffered an injury in the last game and if he is deemed unfit, it will be interesting to see who replaces him. They have options in Steven Smith, Tom Curran, Sam Billings or will they go for someone like Ben Dwarshuis? We will fin
The first double-header of the second leg is upon us and it is Delhi taking on Rajasthan. Delhi are in some stupendous form at the moment, having won 7 games already and their progression to the next stage of the competition is pretty much guaranteed. Rajasthan, on the other hand, had a poor first leg and just got out of jail in the first game of the second leg. They would look to put in a complete performance in this game and get the better of Delhi. With that, a very warm welcome to our cover
We saw one of the best final overs in T20s in the game between Rajasthan and Punjab. Kartik Tyagi was the one who delivered that over and it was a brilliant one. He defended 4 runs and he bowled those searing yorkers to perfection. It is not easy to stop batters like Pooran and Markram but Tyagi managed to do that. He impressed everyone and now would look to continue his performance.
PITCH REPORT - Danny Morrison says that a day game will pose challenges to the players. Matthew Hayden says that this pitch has a bit of moisture and in the middle phase of the game, the spinners will pose challenges. Hayden adds that it is very hot and the players will need to be mindful of that. Says that the pacers will look to bowl the hard lengths and make life difficult for the batters.
Anrich Nortje is up for a chat, he says that playing ODI matches against Sri Lanka before this was good preparation. Speaking about Kagiso Rabada, he says it is very special to play with him. Says it is hot out there and it will ask a lot from the players. Adds that they just do their basics and keep things as simple as possible.

A good show by Rajasthan with the ball has restricted Delhi to a par score. This isn't the biggest total but Delhi have a great bowling lineup and the pitch is not the easiest to bat on. Rajasthan were really good with the ball and did not let the Delhi batters to set free.
Delhi did not have the best of starts as they lost Dhawan and Shaw quite early. Pant and Iyer then played well in the middle phase to rebuild but they both lost their wickets while looking to up the ante and score boundaries. Hetmyer hit a few big flows in the death overs but did not bat till the end and lost his wicket in the 17th over. In the end, they ended up with a par score on the board.
Rajasthan were really good with the ball at the start. They did not leak many runs and used the slower ones to good effect. Tyagi and Sakariya took 1 wicket each at the top to put them in a good position. There was a partnership in the middle phase but Rahman broke that and Tewatia took the wicket of Iyer to push Delhi back. In the death overs, Hetmyer was looking dangerous but Rahman struck again and to get the big wicket. He was the pick of the bowlers as he took 2 wickets for only 22 runs. Sa
So, chasing 155 on this wicket will not be the easiest task for Rajasthan. Delhi have a really good bowling lineup and expect them to fight tooth and nail. The chase should be an exciting one so stay tuned for that!
Chetan Sakariya is there for a chat. He says that it was almost 38 to 39 degrees and it was really hot. Adds that it was hotter than any other stadium. Goes onto say that he tried to bowl slower balls and he is working on it. Tells that they got wickets at regular intervals. Says that there is pressure on Delhi and the target is chaseable. Tells that he and Mustafizur Rahman keep on talking and he learns a lot from him.

A fine win for Delhi! They have continued their winning run and they move back to the top of the table. More importantly, they have more or less, secured their place in the playoffs. Rajasthan, on the other hand, will be disappointed with the effort and now need to make a strong comeback in their upcoming games in order to make it to the playoffs.
Rajasthan never got going with the bat as they lost Liam Livingstone and Yashasvi Jaiswal early. David Miller too did not last long and runs were hard to come by. They hit their first boundary after the Powerplay and that tells you a story. Sanju Samson played a fine hand but he received little to no support and with the required run rate rising, it was always going to be a difficult task for Samson to do it all himself. In the end, it was a tough outing.
The bowling from Delhi was excellent! Avesh Khan continues to impress in this tournament and he started it well. Anrich Nortje was pacy as usual and he had another good game with the ball. Kagiso Rabada too was decent while the spinners strangled the Rajasthan batsmen with their tight lines and lengths. They did not give anything away and were simply terrific with the ball. Overall, a very good outing for Delhi.
Earlier, in the game, after being put into bat, Delhi posted a par score on the board. There were some useful contributions from Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant and from the lower order helped Delhi reach 154. The bowling from Rajasthan was decent and they might have thought they will be able to chase this score down but it was not to be as their batting succumbed to pressure.
Sanju Samson, the Rajasthan skipper, says that looking at a wicket it was a chaseable target but they kept losing wickets and lost the momentum. Adds that they will come back stronger. Says that they will like to take some time off and think about the changes. Says the pitch was holding a bit much and adds if they had waited a bit more, things could have been different.
Anrich Nortje is there for a chat. He says that the pitch was quite slow and they tried to hit the good length. Adds that the bowlers collectively did a great job. Adds that it depends on what to bowl, yorker or bouncers but he likes the former one. Adds that they are trying to work hard as the games are coming thick and fast.
Shreyas Iyer is the Man of the Match for his fine batting performance.
Right then! That's all from this game but don't go anywhere as it is a Super Saturday and that means it is a double-header. The second game is between Hyderabad and Punjab at Sharjah. That match will begin at 6 pm local (2 pm GMT). Do join us for that. Cheers and take care.Â
