We welcome you to the coverage of the first game in Delhi. This is a very important game for both the sides, more for Bangalore as they need to continue their winning momentum if they are to make it to the play offs. They are last on the table at the moment but a win here will see them go level on points with the side at no. 4. Delhi on the o
PITCH REPORT - Graeme Swann says the wicket seems to be very dry, there is hardly any grass on it. Reckons the ball might skid on when it is new but once the shine is off, the spinners will get quite a lot of assistance. Ends by saying the team winning the toss should bat first.
TOSS - Up goes the coin and it lands in the favor of Delhi. They will bat first.
Delhi skipper, Shreyas Iyer, reckons it is a dry wicket and he assumes it will play better in the first half. States Bangalore are playing really well at the moment, they need to win all the games so they have nothing to lose and they will come strong at them. Informs they have one change, Sandeep Lamichhane comes in for Chris Morris.
Bangalore skipper, Virat Kohli, says when you lose six games in a row, all you can do is enjoy the game and that is what they have been doing. Mentions their focus is not to get to the playoffs but just to do well and they are happy with where the results take them. States Moeen Ali will be missed but Washington Sundar is a quality cricketer and hopes he will come good. Informs they have three changes - Moeen Ali, Tim Southee and Akshdeep Nath are replaced by Shivam Dubey, Heinrich Klaasen and G

We are all set for the action to begin! The Bangalore players make their way out to the middle. They are followed by the Delhi openers, Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw. The right-hander will be on strike and he will be facing Umesh Yadav. Here we go...
0.1 : U Yadav to P Shaw, Not the best of starts by Umesh. He bangs it short and offers width outside off, the ball though stays a touch low and hence, Shaw mistimes his cut to covers.
0.2 : U Yadav to P Shaw, Delhi are underway! A little too straight this time and Shaw flicks it through square leg and takes an easy run.
0.3 : U Yadav to S Dhawan, Gets his line and length right this time! It is on the middle stump and bowled just behind the length. Dhawan blocks it out.
0.4 : U Yadav to S Dhawan, FOUR! Up and over! That one sighter was all Dhawan needed. He dances down the track and also makes room. Carves it over the cover fielder and the ball races away. Off the mark with the first boundary of the game.
0.5 : U Yadav to S Dhawan, Moves around in his crease, trying to upset the line and length of the bowler. Umesh does drift it on the pads but Dhawan fails to flick. It hits him on the pads.
0.6 : U Yadav to S Dhawan, A dot to end but a good shot this by Dhawan. This is the slower one on off, Dhawan leans into it and strokes it nicely to mid off. 5 from the first over.
Spin from the other end! Washington Sundar to operate...
1.1 : W Sundar to P Shaw, Flatter and on off, it turns back in a little. Shaw keeps it out off the back foot.
1.2 : W Sundar to P Shaw, A confident punch but just for one! Shorter and flatter again on the stumps, Shaw pushes it towards wide mid off for a single.
1.3 : W Sundar to S Dhawan, Sundar fires this on Dhawan's pads at 95 kph. Shikhar looks to flick but misses. The ball brushes his pads and rolls towards short fine leg. A leg bye is taken.
1.4 : W Sundar to P Shaw, FOUR! SMASHED! Shaw dances down the track, Sundar bowls it short. Shaw does well to adjust and hit it over the bowler's head for a boundary. First for the right-hander.
1.5 : W Sundar to P Shaw, FOUR! Consecutive boundaries! This time there is width offered outside off, Shaw pounces onto it and he cuts it past the diving point fielder for a boundary. Poor by Sundar, if he is bowling quick, he needs to bowl it in the line of the stumps. If he offers width, it would be easy for the batter.
1.6 : W Sundar to P Shaw, A dot to end! But once again there was width on offer outside off, this time though, the ball turned back in a little and hence an under edge was produced as Shaw tries to cut. An expensive start by the offie, 10 from his first.
A leggie comes in now! Yuzvendra Chahal is introduced into the attack by Virat Kohli to bowl the third over.
2.1 : Y Chahal to S Dhawan, SIX! Dealing in boundaries are the openers! Dhawan knows the new ball is the best time to bat and he is looking to make full use of it. Straightaway uses his feet against Chahal. Gets to the pitch of the ball and lofts it over the bowler for a biggie. First of the game.
2.2 : Y Chahal to S Dhawan, Dances down the track once again, this time Chahal spots him and shortens his length. Dhawan fails to flick it and gets hit on the pads.
2.3 : Y Chahal to S Dhawan, On the pads again, Dhawan works it to short fine leg.
2.4 : Y Chahal to S Dhawan, FOUR! Up and over! Too easy for Dhawan. It is on his pads again, he goes down on one knee and then plays the slog sweep over the square leg fielder and into the fence.
2.5 : Y Chahal to S Dhawan, Sensible batting! Now works this towards mid-wicket and takes a single.
2.6 : Y Chahal to P Shaw, FOUR! 15 from Chahal's first and Delhi are off to a flying start. Shaw gets into the act this time. Chahal gives this a lot of air and lands it on middle, Shaw plants his front foot forward and then lofts it over mid on.
Umesh Yadav is back into the attack.
3.1 : U Yadav to S Dhawan, Umesh from around the wicket, lands it on a length and around off, Dhawan guides it towards cover for a quick run.
3.2 : U Yadav to P Shaw, FOUR! Just delightful! Not a very bad delivery this. It is on a length and around off, Shaw stays leg side of the delivery and times his punch through covers. You need not run for those.
Has Parthiv taken the catch? He is pretty confident but the umpires have gone upstairs to check. The SOFT SIGNAL IS OUT! Shaw is the man in question.
3.3 : U Yadav to P Shaw, OUT! The catch is as clean as a whistle. Umesh Yadav strikes. The change of ends does the trick for him. He bowls another short one but this is closer to the off pole. Shaw picks the wrong ball to cut as there is not a lot of room on offer there. An outside edge is induced which directly hits the chest of Patel. He though seems to have managed to hang on to the catch but there is no celebration from him as he is down in pain. Hence, the umpires have a doubt if he has take
Shreyas Iyer is the new batsman in.
3.4 : U Yadav to S Iyer, FOUR! EDGY! Iyer is off the mark in style. Short and outside off, Iyer throws his bat at it but the ball stays low. It goes off the bottom edge and to the third man fence.
3.5 : U Yadav to S Iyer, A single now as this is pushed towards mid on.
3.6 : U Yadav to S Dhawan, Dhawan now keeps strike for the next over as he works it towards deep square leg. End of an action-packed over, 11 from it but the wicket of Shaw as well.
Navdeep Saini is into the attack.
4.1 : N Saini to S Dhawan, SIX! Dismissed! A poor delivery to begin the spell for Saini. He delivers a full ball on the pads and Dhawan whips it across the line and deposits it behind square leg for a biggie.
4.2 : N Saini to S Dhawan, Corrects his line this time and bowls it on middle, it is on a length. Defended towards cover-point.
4.3 : N Saini to S Dhawan, Dhawan uses his feet but Saini bangs it short. Dhawan looks to defend but gets an inside edge towards the keeper. A quick single taken.
4.4 : N Saini to S Iyer, Goes wide of the crease and angles it into the batter. Iyer keeps it out.
4.5 : N Saini to S Iyer, FOUR! Once again a poor ball. On the pads, easy pickings for Iyer. He flicks it through wide mid on and it races away to the fence. 50 is up for the hosts and it has come up in quick time!
4.6 : N Saini to S Iyer, A dot to end another productive over for the hosts. Length and on off, defended.
5.1 : U Yadav to S Dhawan, On the shorter side and outside off, the batsman looks to cut but due to the low bounce, misses.
5.2 : U Yadav to S Dhawan, FOUR! Straight down the ground! Uses his feet and converts it into a full ball. Dhawan smashes it down to the long on fence.
5.3 : U Yadav to S Dhawan, Has that been dropped? No, it is just short. Saves four in the end does Sundar. Dhawan once again uses his feet and takes it on the full. He hits it uppishly towards mid off where Sundar runs to his left and then dives forward but the ball falls just short. He does well to stop it but can't stop the single.
5.4 : U Yadav to S Iyer, Iyer does the right thing by tapping it towards point and giving the strike to Dhawan.
5.5 : U Yadav to S Dhawan, Excellent fielding! A low full toss on the pads, Dhawan works it wide of mid on. De Villiers there moves to his left, dives and saves three for his side.
5.6 : U Yadav to S Iyer, A crisp drive but for no runs! Full and on off, Iyer strokes it straight to cover-point. A dot to end an excellent Powerplay for Delhi. They are 59 for 1 after it.
Strategic break! It has been a strong start from Delhi and Shikhar Dhawan has been going great guns. Prithvi Shaw also looked good but could not carry on. On the other hand, Bangalore need to bowl better and stop the flow of runs. The best way to do that is by picking wickets. Also, Yuzvendra Chahal is back into the attack.
6.1 : Y Chahal to S Dhawan, Plays it with the turn down to long on and takes one.
6.2 : Y Chahal to S Iyer, Bowls it on the stumps, Iyer lunges and blocks it out.
6.3 : Y Chahal to S Iyer, SIX! That is out of here! Excellent shot because he has played this against the turn. This is a flighted leg spinner on the pads, Iyer muscles it over the mid-wicket fence for a biggie.
6.4 : Y Chahal to S Iyer, Now cleverly strokes it down to long off for a single.
6.5 : Y Chahal to S Dhawan, OVERTHROWS! Poor from Bangalore. Outside off, Dhawan looks to cut but mistimes it towards point. The batsmen go for one. The fielder there has a needless shy at the non-striker's end and misses. Another run is taken as the ball rolls towards long on.
6.6 : Y Chahal to S Dhawan, A dot to finish but once again, 10 runs from the over. On the stumps, Dhawan works it to the left of the bowler.
Marcus Stoinis is into the attack.
7.1 : M Stoinis to S Iyer, Stump-to-stump line, Iyer guides it towards point.
7.2 : M Stoinis to S Iyer, Attacks the off pole again, Iyer once again plays it towards point. Two dots in a row. Bangalore need this to be a tight over.
7.3 : M Stoinis to S Iyer, Moves around in his crease does Iyer, Stoinis follows him. Iyer tucks it around the corner and takes one.
7.4 : M Stoinis to S Dhawan, Shortish and outside off, Dhawan has slapped that hard down to long off but just for a single.
7.5 : M Stoinis to S Iyer, Another quick single! Back of a length on off, Iyer plays it with soft hands towards point and takes one. Just three from the over so far, needs to end it well though.
7.6 : M Stoinis to S Dhawan, A fortunate couple to end but a good over for Bangalore. They need a couple more like this. This is short and around off, Dhawan looks to drag his pull but only manages an inside edge which hits his pads and rolls to the left of the keeper. Patel fails to stop it. The man from short third man does well to pull it back in and keep it down to two.
Navdeep Saini is back into the attack.
8.1 : N Saini to S Iyer, Length ball around off, Iyer strokes it through covers and takes one.
8.2 : N Saini to S Dhawan, On the shorter side and on off, Dhawan rocks back and powers his pull but straight to mid-wicket. Dhawan is not happy with himself. He knows, he should have put that away.
8.3 : N Saini to S Dhawan, Good bowling again! Sees Dhawan dancing down the track and bowls it short and angles it away. Dhawan looks to cut but misses.
8.4 : N Saini to S Dhawan, FOUR! This time he gets it away from the short mid-wicket fielder. No one in the deep so a boundary. Short and around middle, Dhawan goes back and pulls it hard. Into the 40s is the opener.
8.5 : N Saini to S Dhawan, Uses his feet again and then pushes it towards cover for a single. Just six so far from this over too, needs to end it well though.
8.6 : N Saini to S Iyer, And does so as just a single comes off it! Length and on off, Iyer strokes it on the up to mid off and gets to the other end.
Washington Sundar is back into the attack.
9.1 : W Sundar to S Iyer, Floated off spinner on middle, Iyer flicks it with the spin through square leg and takes a single. Gurkeerat charges to the ball from the deep but fumbles while picking it up. Concedes an extra run.
9.2 : W Sundar to S Iyer, Driven through mid on by the batsman. They pick up a single.
9.3 : W Sundar to S Dhawan, Flatter and shorter off spinner outside off, Dhawan cuts it off his back foot but it goes straight to point.
9.4 : W Sundar to S Dhawan, Fifty partnership comes up! Once again Sundar is on the shorter side with his length, Dhawan doesn't time his square cut well but still will get a single as the point fielder runs ahead to collect the ball.
9.5 : W Sundar to S Iyer, Drops it short once more, it's on middle and spinning down, Shreyas turns inside the crease and pulls it past the left side of short fine leg. Umesh Yadav runs across to his right from deep square leg and does well to stop the ball with a dive. Two runs taken.
9.6 : W Sundar to S Iyer, Knocks a full ball down to long on for a run. 7 from the over, 19 in the last three. A quiet period this for Delhi. 88/1 at the halfway mark.
Marcus Stoinis is back into the attack.
10.1 : M Stoinis to S Iyer, Length and on off, Iyer flicks it towards deep mid-wicket for a single.
10.2 : M Stoinis to S Dhawan, FOUR! Cheeky! Excellent innovation! Dhawan moves right across, looks to play the paddle. Connects well and it goes to the fine leg fence.
10.3 : M Stoinis to S Dhawan, Dhawan makes room but Stoinis bowls it closer to the body, Dhawan looks to cut but mistimes it towards point for a run.
10.4 : M Stoinis to S Iyer, A little too straight again and this is worked down to long on for a single.
10.5 : M Stoinis to S Dhawan, Dhawan continues dancing down the track, Stoinis bangs it short and Shikhar pulls it through mid-wicket for a run.
10.6 : M Stoinis to S Iyer, On the stumps, Iyer works it towards mid-wicket and another easy run is taken. 9 from the over, Delhi may have decided to step on the gas now.
Shivam Dubey is into the attack.
11.1 : S Dubey to S Iyer, Slower one to begin with! Iyer flicks it through mid-wicket and takes a run. Iyer is happy to take singles.
11.2 : S Dubey to S Dhawan, A direct hit would have been close! Shortish and outside off, Dhawan chops it towards cover and goes for a run. The fielder there has a shy at the striker's end but misses. Had he hit, Iyer would have been in.
11.3 : S Dubey to S Iyer, Very well fielded! This is full and on middle, Iyer strokes it past the bowler. De Villiers from long on does well to run to his left, dive and then parry it to Klaasen who throws it back in. A single.
11.4 : S Dubey to S Dhawan, Short and outside off, Dhawan cuts it but finds point.
11.5 : S Dubey to S Dhawan, Fifty for Dhawan, his golden patch continues. He though now needs to stay there till the end since he has got the idea of the pace of the wicket. He gets there with a single as he looks to drag his pull but gets an inside edge onto his pads. The ball rolls towards the off side.
Gary Kirsten gives a little interview to Matthew Hayden. Says that they need to keep bowling well. Admits that they started poorly but are pulling things back in the tournament. Hopes to do good today as well. About the challenges he faces as a coach, Kirsten replies that it's so intense and he feels to get more time to prepare with the local players will be really good.
11.6 : S Dubey to S Iyer, Another single! A very good first by Dubey. He bangs the last one on a length and around off, Iyer flat-bats it down to long off for a run.
Yuzvendra Chahal is back into the attack.
12.1 : Y Chahal to S Iyer, Short in length on middle, pulled down to deep mid-wicket for a run.
12.2 : Y Chahal to S Dhawan, OUT! Soft dismissal for Dhawan! Chahal delivers a leggie on the fuller side and wide outside off, Shikhar kneels down to play the sweep shot but has to fetch it from out there. Ends up top edging it towards short fine leg where Washington Sundar takes the simplest of catches. End of a fine knock by Dhawan and his 68-run stand with skipper Iyer is also over. Now, it's over to middle order to capitalize on this start.
Rishabh Pant is the new batsman in.
12.3 : Y Chahal to R Pant, Full and floated around off, Pant lunges and flicks it in front of square leg for a single.
12.4 : Y Chahal to S Iyer, Sliding down the leg side, Shreyas helps it through mid-wicket for one.
12.5 : Y Chahal to R Pant, Nearly drags it on! Big spin for Chahal. He gets it to curl back into the left-hander from outside off, Pant moves back to play the square cut but is cramped for room. It hits him on the higher half of his bat and then drops down in front of the stumps.
12.6 : Y Chahal to R Pant, Flatter and outside off, Pant guides it towards point. Only 3 from the over along with the prized wicket of Dhawan.
Strategic break! It has been a smooth sailing for Delhi but they have lost the wicket of Shikhar Dhawan at the wrong time. Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer would look to rebuild and finish the innings on a high. On the other hand, Bangalore have a chance to put brakes and restrict them to a low score. Washington Sundar is back on.
13.1 : W Sundar to S Iyer, Tosses it up on middle, this is eased down to long on for a single.
13.2 : W Sundar to R Pant, Flatter and on the stumps, Pant pushes it towards cover and takes an easy run.
13.3 : W Sundar to S Iyer, Another single as this is whipped towards deep mid-wicket for a single.
13.4 : W Sundar to R Pant, This is flatter and on off, turns away just a little. Pant looks to defend but the ball takes the outside edge towards short third man. The batsmen change ends.
13.5 : W Sundar to S Iyer, 5 balls 5 singles as this is worked around the corner.
13.6 : W Sundar to R Pant, FOUR! The last ball spoils the over! Short and on middle, it sits up to be hit. Pant goes back and pulls it in the gap in the mid-wicket region for a boundary. 9 from this one.
14.1 : Y Chahal to S Iyer, SIX! A boundary to end the last over and a biggie to begin this one. Dances down the track and stays inside the line of the ball. He whips it over the mid-wicket fence for a biggie.
14.2 : Y Chahal to S Iyer, A BEAUTY! Good comeback by Chahal! He pitches this one on the leg pole, Iyer looks to work it with the angle. The ball though turns away, beats the bat and also the off pole. Patel whips the bails off and appeals but Iyer is in.
14.3 : Y Chahal to S Iyer, SIX! JUST OVER! Top shot again! Shreyas uses his feet and goes towards the mid-wicket region. It is not off the middle but since the boundaries are short, it carries all the way. He also, brings his 50 up in style. The skipper needs to continue.
14.4 : Y Chahal to S Iyer, Shorter and outside off, Iyer cuts it nicely but towards sweeper cover. Just a run.
Pant has been given out LBW! He has reviewed. Looks out.
14.5 : Y Chahal to R Pant, OUT! Three reds and Delhi lose their only review. Not sure why that was taken as it looked out. Big wicket this as Pant could be very dangerous towards the end. Chahal bowls this around off and gets this one to turn back in. Pant looks to work it on the leg side but misses. The ball hits the front pad and an appeal follows. The umpire raises his finger. Pant reviews and replays show that the on-field call is the right one. No fireworks from Pant today. Bangalore need to
Colin Ingram is the new batsman in.
14.6 : Y Chahal to C Ingram, A dot to end another action-packed over. This is flatter and on off, Ingram pushes it to the left of the bowler. Also, that is it from Chahal today, his figures read 4-0-41-2. An expensive day for him but he picked up two big wickets.
15.1 : W Sundar to S Iyer, Works it with the turn through square leg for a single.
15.2 : W Sundar to C Ingram, Slightly short and outside off, Ingram guides it through covers for one.
15.3 : W Sundar to S Iyer, OUT! Iyer follows Pant! Two wickets in quick succession and now Delhi have two new batsmen out in the middle. Just what Bangalore would have wanted. Iyer maybe should have delayed the big shot after losing Pant in the previous over. He does not do so, looks to whip this one over the mid-wicket fence but ends up hitting it flat towards Kohli in the deep who takes an easy catch. Delhi from 103 for 1 are 129 for 4 now. Bangalore back into the contest.
Sherfane Rutherford is the new batsman in.
15.4 : W Sundar to S Rutherford, This is on the stumps, Rutherford works it to square leg.
15.5 : W Sundar to S Rutherford, Flatter and outside off, SR slaps it wide of the sweeper cover for a single.
15.6 : W Sundar to S Rutherford, Fires it on the stumps and Rutherford keeps it out. End of a top over by Sundar. Just the 4 runs and a wicket from it. Also, end of his spell, a good one by him. Gave away just 29 and also took a wicket.
Navdeep Saini is back into the attack.
16.1 : N Saini to C Ingram, Short and wide outside off, Ingram looks to cut but misses.
16.2 : N Saini to C Ingram, Fuller and angling away from the batter, Ingram looks to hit it over the off side but misses. Two dots in a row now.
16.3 : N Saini to C Ingram, FOUR! CLUBBED AWAY! What a shot! Brute! Short and around off, Ingram smashes it over the bowler's head. It bounces once before crossing the ropes.
16.4 : N Saini to C Ingram, SIX! Another top shot! The slower one but it is a little too full outside off. Ingram waits for it and then eases it over covers. The connection is such that the ball carries all the way. So the two dots are followed by a boundary and a biggie.
16.5 : N Saini to C Ingram, OUT! Now a wicket! Saini has the last laugh. Ingram tries to be innovative but it does not come off. He moves right across and looks to paddle however, there is no pace on the delivery. He fails to get it over short fine leg where Sundar moves to his left and takes it. Half the side back in the hut for the hosts and now Bangalore are into the bowling all-rounders.
Axar Patel is the new batsman in.
16.6 : N Saini to A Patel, A dot to end! A yorker outside off, Patel looks to jam it out but it goes off the bottom part towards short third man.
Marcus Stoinis is back into the attack.
17.1 : M Stoinis to S Rutherford, Short in length and wide outside off, Rutherford plays it down towards point and rushes across to the other end. The fielder misses his shy at the bowler's end.
17.2 : M Stoinis to A Patel, Pitches it up and outside off, Axar drives it down through mid off and rotates the strike.
17.3 : M Stoinis to S Rutherford, SIX! This has gone the distance! Stoinis is on the shorter side around off, Rutherford hangs on the back foot and packs a punch. Dismisses it over mid-wicket for a biggie.
17.4 : M Stoinis to S Rutherford, Superb comeback from the bowler. Stoinis hits the blockhole with a well-executed yorker and Sherfane cannot do much as he just digs it out back to the bowler.
17.5 : M Stoinis to S Rutherford, Back of a length ball on off, Rutherford drags it down to long on for one. 150 up!
17.6 : M Stoinis to A Patel, Full length ball on middle, Ingram flicks it across the line with great timing but will get only a single as it has gone straight to deep mid-wicket. 10 from the over!
Umesh Yadav is back into the attack.
18.1 : U Yadav to A Patel, A dot to begin the 19th! Length and around off, Axar looks to push it on the off side but misses.
18.2 : U Yadav to A Patel, FOUR! Poor ball and it has been put away! Short and on the body, Axar helps it on its way over the short fine leg fielder and bags a boundary. Can't bowl there with fine leg up.
18.3 : U Yadav to A Patel, This time bowls it wide outside off, Patel slaps it through covers and the batters take one.
18.4 : U Yadav to S Rutherford, SIX! In the slot and that is into the stands! Full and on middle, Rutherford clears his front leg and tonks it over the mid-wicket fence. 11 from the over with two balls to go.
18.5 : U Yadav to S Rutherford, Just a single now as Rutherford hits it down to long on.
18.6 : U Yadav to A Patel, FOUR! CRUNCHED! 16 from the over! A huge one! Back of a length and on off, Axar waits for it and then punches it past covers. The man in the deep dives and tries to stop it but fails to do so.
Navdeep Saini is back into the attack.
19.1 : N Saini to S Rutherford, FOUR BYES! Rutherford wants it to be a no ball as well but it is not called! A high full toss outside off, Rutherford fails to put bat on ball. It is a difficult take for Parthiv as it is bouncing just in front of him. He fails to stop it and it races to the third man fence.
19.2 : N Saini to S Rutherford, EDGY FOUR! Delhi won't care though. It is full and outside off, Rutherford throws his bat at it. The ball flies off the outside edge and past Patel once again to the third man fence. 8 from the first two balls.
19.3 : N Saini to S Rutherford, 9 now from the first three balls. A full toss but it is a pacey one. Rutherford is a touch late in the shot, it is hit down to long on for a single.
19.4 : N Saini to A Patel, FOUR! ANOTHER STREAKY BOUNDARY! A full toss, Axar looks to whip it over the leg side but the ball flies off the outside edge, over point and into the fence. 180 is up and two balls still left.
19.5 : N Saini to A Patel, A single now! Full and on off, Axar slices it through covers for a single.
19.6 : N Saini to S Rutherford, SIX! BOOM! A biggie to end! What a shot that is. It is a one-handed biggie. 20 from the last over. A low full toss outside off, Rutherford slices it right off the middle. It carries all the way over the point fence. DELHI END ON 187!
56/1 in the last four overs and it's a strong finish from Delhi. They appeared to be losing the plot after losing Dhawan, Pant and Iyer in quick succession but the pair of Rutherford and Axar made sure to take the total past the 180-run mark. A very good recovery from the home team.
After opting to bat, Delhi lost Shaw early but then the experienced duo of Dhawan and Iyer raised a 68-run stand and also got to their respective fifties. However, they failed to kicked on and lost their wickets at the wrong time. Bangalore were poor with the ball initially, then pulled things back a bit in the middle phase but once again faltered at the death. Washington Sundar was the pick of the bowler while Yuzvendra Chahal, in spite of being expensive, bagged two big wickets.
Sherfane Rutherford is giving a quick interview to Matthew Hayden. He says the situation demanded him to attack, so he took a couple of balls and then had a go. Mentions that Ponting backs the team and has given him good confidence. Reckons slower balls will be the key on this wicket. Ends by saying that he loved the six on the last ball.
The pitch at the Kotla is on the slower side, as usual and there is some turn on offer for the spinners. But it's not very alarming and if the batsmen apply themselves, they can surely score runs. As mentioned by Sherfane in his interview, change in pace is going to be critical on this surface. Let's wait and watch how Bangalore respond.
0.0 : We are back for the chase. The players and umpires are out in the middle. Virat Kohli and Parthiv Patel will open the batting for Bangalore. Ishant Sharma will start the proceedings for Delhi.
0.1 : I Sharma to P Patel, Painful start! A good shot by Patel to begin with! Length and around off, Patel strokes it right off the middle towards the bowler. Ishant stretches his right hand out and deflects it onto the left elbow of Kohli standing next to him. The skipper feels some pain but it's not too serious and the game continues...
0.2 : I Sharma to P Patel, An appeal but the umpire shakes his head. Ishant shortens his length just a little as he sees Parthiv come down the track. Patel looks to flick but misses to get hit on the pads. The ball lobs towards Pant who takes it. The appeal was for LBW but the ball would have gone over.

Kagiso Rabada is into the attack.
3.1 : K Rabada to P Patel, FOUR! Parthiv is in red-hot form! Wow, this is an extraordinary shot. Rabada keeps his length full and outside off, Patel with minimum footwork reaches out for it and drills it through the gap between extra cover and mid off. Not a single muscle moved in the field.
3.2 : K Rabada to P Patel, Short in length and angling across the batsman outside off, Parthiv is early into his shot and misses.

3.6 : K Rabada to P Patel, Sharp delivery, short and on middle, Parthiv is hurried up and mistimes his pull back towards the bowler.

4.4 : I Sharma to V Kohli, Once again it is angled into the batter, Kohli strokes it to mid on.
4.5 : I Sharma to V Kohli, MISFIELD AND FOUR! Poor from Rabada, he succumbs under pressure there. Kohli works this towards him at mid on and sets off for a run. 5.5 : K Rabada to P Patel, OUT! TAKEN! Parthiv's excellent innings has come to an end courtesy a brilliant catch. He would feel hard done though as he has absolutely nailed it. Parthiv makes room and it is bowled shortish and on off, Patel slashes at it. It flies towards point where Axar takes a tumbling catch to his left. Rabada has a big smile on his face, surely wasn't expecting a wicket off this ball. A much-needed breakthrough for the hosts but one would feel, Patel has done his job. 125 mor

Strategic break! Bangalore got a great start from their openers but after losing both Parthiv and Kohli, they are in a spot of bother. But the ball spins away to catch the top edge and Dhawan moves swiftly across to his left from point to complete the catch by stretching his hands out. The thigh-five follows and Delhi are roaring! Delhi are in the playoffs for the first time since 2012! Incredible win for them and they have pushed Bangalore on the brink of elimination. The touring team started their run chase in a brisk manner and were in a dominating position after the Powerplay. But Delhi bounced back after that to remove both the openers. AB de Villiers and Shivam Dubey got together for a partnership but once the former was dismissed, the home team pressed home the advantage. Gurkeerat and Stoinis tried their best but

Their partnership in a way proved to be the differential factor. Amit Mishra, Axar Patel and Kagiso Rabada were right on the money with the ball and played a vital role
