PITCH REPORT - Kumar Sangakkara and birthday boy, Wasim Akram are the pitch analysts for the game. Sangakkara says it is a place where bowlers dread to bowl. TOSS - England skipper, Eoin Morgan has the coin in hand. Up it goes, Sarfaraz calls Tails but it lands in favour of England. ENGLAND OPT TO BOWL FIRST.
England skipper, Eoin Morgan says the wicket looks very good and states the dimensions are small so they believe chasing down a score will be good. The skipper mentions that it is a different day, so they have to play again well from the beginning again. Informs that they have one change, Mark Wood comes in, in place of Liam Plunkett. Eoin tells that the reason is due to how Pakistan played the short stuff, also feels that Mark Wood bowled well with pace on this ground in the ODI series versus P
Pakistan skipper, Sarfaraz Ahmed says he wanted to bowl first as well. On the wicket he says it looks like a very good wicket. On short ball being an issue after the previous game, Sarfaraz says it was just a one-off problem and it won't happen again. Hopes that they can do well against England as they have played them recently in the ODI series. On how he feels about the losing streak, Sarfaraz tells that they are not reading too much at it.

Both sets of players walk out to the middle for their respective national anthems. First up, it will be visitors, Pakistan's national anthem followed by England's. We are not far away from the start of the game.
Done and dusted with the national anthems and we are all set for the game to begin. England players are in a huddle and their skipper, Eoin Morgan is having a few words before the players take their respective positions in the field.Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq walk out to open the innings for Pakistan. The first new ball is in the hands of Chris Woakes, he will start the proceedings for England.

Short of a length on middle, FZ pulls this away with ease through mid-wicket and all the way to the fence. Easy pickings and one has to say Fakhar is looking good here.

Imam looks to defend but it looks like he has been beaten and the ball hits him on the pads. The English players put in a big appeal but the umpire is unmoved. Drinks Break! Pakistan have got off to a good start here but the wicket of Zaman would be something that will give England some confidence. The openers got off to a good start but the introduction of Moeen and Wood has not just stemmed the run flow but has also provided them with a wicket they were desperately looking for. This is Pakistan for you - Unpredictable. They got bundled out for 100 odd in their first match and today they have posted their second-best total in a World Cup match. A target of 349 will test England's mighty batting line-up and if they manage to overhaul it, it will be the highest run chase in the mega event.
Put to bat, everyone expected the likes of Jofra Archer and Mark Wood to bounce out the Pakistan batsmen. But that didn't happen. Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq were not only watchful but they scored runs at a good rate as well. Every batsman came to the party and Mohammad Hafeez was the one who impressed the most after getting a life on 14. Babar Azam and Sarfaraz Ahmed also were brilliant and Pakistan always looked on track for a total around 350.
England's bowling wasn't up to the mark. There wasn't much support from the surface but they were also not consistent with their lines and lengths. Moeen Ali was the standout performer after claiming the top three wickets while Chris Woakes bowled well at the death to take his tally to three wickets as well. Not to forget his four extraordinary catches in the field. Apart from that, the hosts were below par with their ground fielding and leaked plenty of runs. Having said all that, they snapped
Ramiz Raja is down with Mohammad Hafeez for a quick chat. 'Professor' says that self-belief was the key as they know they can handle any situation. Tells that the previous game was an off day for them. Reckons the pitch is holding a bit and there is a little turn on offer too. Feels that there is something for the seamers as well and the total they have got is a very good one. Right then, England pride themselves on being the best chasing team. Now they have their task cut out to chase down this big total. It's time to prove that tag.
