West Indies manage to reach 180 courtesy of Sherfane Rutherford's quickfire cameo in the backend, which might play a pivotal role in the game. A decent outing for the bowlers of England as they managed to keep their opponents below 200. Johnson Charles and Brandon King played it safe early on, just getting a feel for the pitch. But they didn't let the scoring rate stagnate, finding the ropes whenever they could. King had a few nervy and edgy moments but managed to hang around before retiring
England's bowlers started really well though. Reece Topley and Mark Wood were hitting some good areas, getting that extra bounce and movement. But try as they might, they just couldn't break through that opening partnership. So Buttler turned to Jofra Archer and Sam Curran, but even they couldn't provide that elusive breakthrough in the first six overs. Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid were brought in after the fielding restrictions were off, and they really squeezed the runs in the middle overs wit
Right then, the West Indies have put on a decent total on the board. England has all the requisite firepower to chase it down as they boast an explosive batting order. 180 plus was chased down in the previous game at this venue, so, West Indies will aim to get a couple of quick wickets early on and exert the pressure from the word go and get an upper hand. Stay tuned as the run chase is up next shortly.
... THE RUN CHASE ...
We are back for England's reply!
