Commentary :
0.0 : The Super Four stage kicks off today with India and Bangladesh playing the first game in Dubai. At the same time, in Abu Dhabi, Afghanistan and Pakistan will be playing the second match. It is going to be a tough contest for both Bangladesh and Afghanistan, since each played last night. However, if you look at Bangladesh - boy, they have had to travel from Abu Dhabi this morning to Dubai. Without a doubt, they will be under extreme pressure. Hopefully, we do not get a damp squib.
India might be affected by injuries with Hardik Pandya being the most prominent one of those. However, their replacement squad looks equally strong. They might have invoked ire by their performance against Hong Kong but the Men In Blue have played the perfect trick by properly rotating the players. Bangladesh, on the other hand, are also reeling under injuries. Mushfiqur Rahim is not 100 percent fit and neither is his skipper Mortaza. Shakib did decently last night against Afghanistan but will h
Okay. The PITCH REPORT first. Russel Arnold says that a fresh one is in use for today. Observes that there is hardly any grass and the track is very very even. A bit of cracks here and there but they are bound together. What that tells us is - do not try to blast the bowlers but accumulate runs and try and bat longer. Reckons that if you bat first and score 250, it should be a winning total.
TOSS - We are ready for the spin of the coin. Rohit Sharma flips the specially minted coin, the call is Heads from Mortaza but it is a tail. Surprisingly, INDIA ELECT TO CHASE.
Rohit Sharma says that chasing suits India. Observes that it gets a bit better under lights. Stresses that they do not know what is an ideal score here, hence they would want a target in front of them. On the tracks, the skipper says that they are more or less the same as to those in India but the conditions are way too hot. However, he also says that having played a couple of games here, they have got used to the conditions. Informs that there is only one change with Ravindra Jadeja replacing t
Mashrafe Mortaza says that he was looking to bat first anyways. Observes that the track looks good to bat on and hopes that his batters do their job. On the previous night, Mashrafe says that one of the good things of playing so soon is there is no time to think what happened in that bad game. On the team news, he says that Rahim and Mustafizur are back in place of Mominul Haque and Abu Hider.
Time for the national anthems. Bangladesh first up.
Done and dusted. Let's play now. The Indian team gets into a huddle. Out come the Bangladesh openers. Liton Das and Nazmul Hossain Shanto will aim to see off the new balls first. Finally, the Indians disperse. Who will bowl first up? Bhuvi? Yes. Das is on strike. Here we go!
0.1 : B Kumar to L Das, Edged first up! But safe. What a start from Kumar. On a length outside off, hitting the deck hard, Das stays back to defend but the ball bounces steeply and then shapes away. Catches Liton by surprise who gets squared up. Just fends at it and luckily for him, the edge flies wide of the man at first slip towards third man. Bangladesh are away, though not in the most convincing fashion.
0.2 : B Kumar to Hossain Shanto, On a length outside off, pushed towards point.
0.3 : B Kumar to Hossain Shanto, Both openers are underway now. Shanto waits for the ball to come to him and steers it to third man for a single.
0.4 : B Kumar to L Das, Very tight and straight, defended solidly.
0.5 : B Kumar to L Das, On middle and off, flicked straight to mid on.
0.6 : B Kumar to L Das, WIDE. Bhuvi is not happy. It was definitely a touch wide outside off but was it that far off? Replays show that it was not even close to the wide guideline.
B Kumar to L Das, Full and outside off, pushed wide of mid off for a quick single. Excellent opening over from Bhuvneshwar.
Jasprit Bumrah to bowl with the second new ball.
1.1 : J Bumrah to L Das, He too, hits the deck hard straightaway. No looseners. 135 kph, on a length, extra bounce, outside off, fended to the leg side.
1.2 : J Bumrah to L Das, Fuller, coming in, Das comes forward to work it to the leg side but is unable to counter the late movement. It goes off the inner edge towards mid-wicket.
1.3 : J Bumrah to L Das, In the air... safe! No fielder manning that gully region. A short ball outside off, Liton looks to pull but the ball bounces extra, takes the outside edge, hits the shoulder and lobs in the air. However, there is no man at gully and by the time Ravindra Jadeja can get to it from backward point, the ball lands safely. A quick single taken.
1.4 : J Bumrah to Hossain Shanto, A length ball around leg stump, steep bounce again, uncomfortably fended down the track.
1.5 : J Bumrah to Hossain Shanto, Fuller, driven back to the bowler who acrobatically leaps to his right and stops it with one hand.
1.6 : J Bumrah to Hossain Shanto, Very straight, around middle, blocked towards point.
2.1 : B Kumar to L Das, Nearly a catch! Full and outside off, Das leans and drives it uppishly. It almost goes straight to the man at short extra cover but drops short.
2.2 : B Kumar to L Das, Outside off, steered to third man for a single.
2.3 : B Kumar to Hossain Shanto, On middle and off, defended back to the bowler.
2.4 : B Kumar to Hossain Shanto, Full and outside off, driven straight to mid off.
2.5 : B Kumar to Hossain Shanto, Comes down the track and pulls it through mid on. But Rohit dives to his left and makes a half-stop. Just a single.
2.6 : B Kumar to L Das, Oopss... but a great call from the umpire. Das jumps down the track and Bhuvi's response is to bowl a bouncer, way outside off. Das lets it go but since he was way down the track, he is not wided.
3.1 : J Bumrah to Hossain Shanto, A full toss outside off, Shanto drives it through the covers. Mid off gives it a good chase and gets to the ball before it reaches the boundary. He slides and pulls the ball back. Three runs taken.
3.2 : J Bumrah to L Das, That is a beauty. Landed on a length outside off, coming in, Das feels for it but is beaten by the inward movement.
3.3 : J Bumrah to L Das, Defended off the back foot by the batsman.
3.4 : J Bumrah to L Das, FOUR! BRUTAL! First boundary of the innings. A short ball outside off, Das swivels back and pulls it over mid-wicket for a boundary!
3.5 : J Bumrah to L Das, The batsman shows the full face of the bat and defends the ball off the back foot.
3.6 : J Bumrah to L Das, Very straight, around middle, blocked towards point.
4.1 : B Kumar to Hossain Shanto, Getting itchy now. The batsmen want to get on with it. A length ball outside off, angling away, Nazmul backs away, then charges out and cracks a square cut. But the fielder at point puts in a full length dive and makes a terrific stop.
4.2 : B Kumar to Hossain Shanto, The batsman has flicked the ball off his pads. They pick up a single.
4.3 : B Kumar to L Das, OUT! There goes the first wicket! Das is bounced out. India get their first scalp. A short ball outside off, Das is compelled into the pull shot but the height of the bouncer is probably a bit too steep for him. He tries his best to keep it down but the pace and bounce are too much for him. The top edge flies down to long leg where Kedar Jadhav covers good ground to his left and takes an excellent catch diving sidewards. Early breakthrough.
In walks Shakib Al Hasan at number 3, replacing Das.
4.4 : B Kumar to Hossain Shanto, On middle, pushed towards short mid-wicket.
4.5 : B Kumar to Hossain Shanto, Outside off, a touch shorter, steered behind point towards third man for a single.
4.6 : B Kumar to Al Hasan, Full and just outside off, Shakib comes forward and pushes it towards mid off. Just 2 runs and a wicket from that over, Bhuvi's figures read 3-0-8-1.
5.1 : J Bumrah to Hossain Shanto, OUT! Edged, dropped but caught in the second attempt! One wicket brings the fall of another. Short and outside off, Shanto slashes hard at that, on seeing the width. But there is no feet movement and all it results is in a thick outside edge. The ball flies to first slip where Shikhar Dhawan fumbles initially as the ball bursts through his right palm. But it lobs straight up and he catches it in the second attempt. He then celebrates by clapping his thigh.
0.0 : Mushfiqur Rahim walks in at number 4, replacing Nazmul.
5.2 : J Bumrah to M Rahim, On middle and leg, played towards short mid-wicket.
5.3 : J Bumrah to M Rahim, Mushy is away. On the pads, flicked behind square leg for a single.
5.4 : J Bumrah to Al Hasan, Full and straight, driven straight back.
Brett Lee on air observes the run-up of Bumrah. The Aussie speedster counts the number of steps taken by Jasprit and he gets to 10 or 11. Now, Binga is not particularly happy with that. He says while it is okay for now, in the long run, this short run-up could cause injuries to Bumrah. As a fast bowler, you need pace in your run-up as well, says Lee. So, more the number of steps, more is the pace. However, with this method, the body needs that extra effort to push for more pace.
5.5 : J Bumrah to Al Hasan, The batsman shows the full face of the bat and defends the ball off the back foot.
5.6 : J Bumrah to Al Hasan, FOUR! HANDSOME! The support seems to be tremendous for Bangladesh today. A half volley outside off, Shakib leans and drives it through the covers for a boundary! 5 runs and a wicket from that over, Bumrah's figures read 3-1-12-1.
6.1 : B Kumar to M Rahim, Around off, watchfully defended.
6.2 : B Kumar to M Rahim, Fuller, driven towards mid on this time.
6.3 : B Kumar to M Rahim, Closer to the off stump, Rahim walks down the track, gets across but then shoulders arms.
6.4 : B Kumar to M Rahim, Fine shot, but an excellent stop. Full and outside off, Mushfiqur walks down the track and plays a brilliant straight drive. But mid off dives full length to his right and makes a clean stop.
6.5 : B Kumar to M Rahim, On a length around off, coming in, tightly defended.
6.6 : B Kumar to M Rahim, The length is fuller this time and the response is to come a step forward and push it towards cover. A MAIDEN FOR BHUVI, his first, India's second.
7.1 : J Bumrah to Al Hasan, Full on middle and leg, worked wide of mid on for a single.
7.2 : J Bumrah to M Rahim, Slightly shorter than a fuller length, Rahim waits on the back foot this time, allows the ball to come in and then dabs it towards point. Shakib wants a single but Rahim sends him back with clear calls of 'NO! NO!'
7.3 : J Bumrah to M Rahim, Similar delivery, closer to the off stump, Mushfiqur defends watchfully.
7.4 : J Bumrah to M Rahim, INSIDE EDGE, PAST DHONI, FOUR! Unbelievable delivery from Bumrah. How does he get so much movement? Even in these conditions? Does anyone remember Keaton Jennings' LBW dismissal in England in one of the Tests where he shouldered arms and was out LBW? Well, this was similar, only the other way. On a length, but wide outside off. Now, Rahim looks to push at that, a bit away from his body, probably looking to tap and run. But the ball comes in a long way, takes the inside
7.5 : J Bumrah to M Rahim, The batsman has played that off the front foot and into the ground.
7.6 : J Bumrah to M Rahim, Nips back in again, Rahim looks to defend but gets a thick inside edge onto his pads.
First sign of spin. Here's Yuzvendra Chahal.
8.1 : Y Chahal to Al Hasan, On middle and leg, flicked through mid-wicket for a single.
8.2 : Y Chahal to M Rahim, The batsman has defended it by getting right behind the line of the delivery.
8.3 : Y Chahal to M Rahim, TOP EDGE, SAFE! More luck for Rahim. Tossed up outside off, the Bangladesh keeper-batsman tries to sweep against the spin. However, a top edge is induced and it flies in the air. Short fine leg runs across to his left while deep mid-wicket runs in, but the ball lands in between. A single taken.
8.4 : Y Chahal to Al Hasan, On middle, worked wide of mid on for a run.
8.5 : Y Chahal to M Rahim, Full and outside off, driven through mid off for one more.
8.6 : Y Chahal to Al Hasan, Driven through mid off by the batsman. They pick up a single.
Spin from both ends. Ravindra Jadeja to bowl for the first time in this Asia Cup.
9.1 : R Jadeja to Al Hasan, The batsman has nudged the ball fine down the leg side. One run added to the total.
9.2 : R Jadeja to M Rahim, NO BALL! That is surprising. Jaddu has overstepped. That is a massive one too. Pushed wide of mid off for a single.
FREE HIT TIME! Hang on, what is happening out there? Jadeja bowled a full toss on the Free Hit and Shakib slapped it towards mid off. But while the bowler was delivering, the umpire was stopping him. However, by that time, Jaddu had already delivered. Now, the umpire signals a dead ball. Rohit Sharma is not happy and has a long discussion with the umpire but Ahsan Raza is firm. So the Free Hit continues...
R Jadeja to Al Hasan, FOUR! Full toll of that extra ball. Tossed up outside off, Shakib leans and lofts it over cover for a boundary!
9.3 : R Jadeja to Al Hasan, FOUR! Consecutive boundaries! Full and on middle, Shakib gets down and mows it through square leg. Jasprit Bumrah races to his left from deep mid-wicket and puts in a desperate dive but in vain.
9.4 : R Jadeja to Al Hasan, OUT! Gone this time! Poor cricket from Shakib. On the previous boundary, the ball had travelled aerially through square leg. And then, Rohit placed a man exactly at square leg. Shakib again repeated his last shot. Only this was tossed a bit wider outside off. Shakib had to reach out, to try and fetch that. He aimed to go over square leg but instead, handed a simple catch to Shikhar Dhawan. Bangladesh in deep, deep trouble.
Mohammad Mithun is the new man in at number 5, replacing Shakib.
9.5 : R Jadeja to M Mithun, Driven towards the mid off region. One run added to the total.
9.6 : R Jadeja to M Rahim, Action replay of the previous delivery. 13 runs but a wicket as well from that over. Bangladesh end Powerplay 1 with their score reading 44/3.
POWERPLAY 2 time. 4 fielders allowed outside the 30-yard circle till the 40th over. Kuldeep Yadav to bowl as well.
10.1 : K Yadav to M Rahim, Full and outside off, watchfully defended.
10.2 : K Yadav to M Rahim, Driven towards the mid on region. The batsmen have run through for a single.
10.3 : K Yadav to M Mithun, Full and outside off, Mithun drives it through the covers but Ambati Rayudu dives full length to his right and makes an excellent stop.
10.4 : K Yadav to M Mithun, On middle, pushed wide of long on for a single.
10.5 : K Yadav to M Rahim, A tough short outside off, spinning in, Rahim attempts to play a late cut but finds backward point.
10.6 : K Yadav to M Rahim, Very dangerous shot. Full and in line of the stumps and Rahim attempted the sweep. Now, had he missed, he would have been dead LBW. But he does not miss and the bat comes down to direct the ball towards fine leg. A single taken.
11.1 : R Jadeja to M Rahim, Full and wide outside off, driven through the covers for a single.
11.2 : R Jadeja to M Mithun, Beaten! How close was that? Very. Around off, Mithun looks to play inside the line but the ball holds its shape and misses both, the outside edge and the off stump by a whisker!
11.3 : R Jadeja to M Mithun, The batsman defends it from within the crease.
11.4 : R Jadeja to M Mithun, Short and outside off, cut straight to point.
11.5 : R Jadeja to M Mithun, OUCH! Rahim is hurt. But not by Mithun's shot. Landed around middle, Mithun punches this towards long on. Now, Jadeja tries to get across to his right to stop the ball but in the process, his right elbow punches Rahim in his tummy. The Bangladesh keeper-batsman is not happy.
11.6 : R Jadeja to M Mithun, Punched off the back foot by the batsman. The batsmen have run through for a single.
12.1 : K Yadav to M Mithun, Huge LBW shout, but not out. India do not review. Very full, probably pitching outside leg, which is why the fielding side might not have bothered about a second look. Mithun went for the sweep but missed and was hit on the pads. Well, Hawk Eye shows the ball to be pitching in line but projects the ball to be spinning down and clipping the leg stump. So the decision would have stayed.
12.2 : K Yadav to M Mithun, Full and outside off, driven through the covers for a single. 50 UP FOR BANGLADESH. Been a struggle.
12.3 : K Yadav to M Rahim, The batsman defends it from within the crease.
12.4 : K Yadav to M Rahim, Tossed up, driven wide of mid off for a run.
12.5 : K Yadav to M Mithun, Action reply of the previous delivery.
12.6 : K Yadav to M Rahim, The batsman has flicked the ball off his pads.
13.1 : R Jadeja to M Mithun, Full and straight, Mithun gets a big stride forward and defends.
13.2 : R Jadeja to M Mithun, On middle and leg, helped to the leg side.
13.3 : R Jadeja to M Mithun, Floated generously outside off, Mithun drives this towards long off but Jadeja himself gets across to his left to stop the ball.
13.4 : R Jadeja to M Mithun, Quicker one, bunted back to the bowler.
13.5 : R Jadeja to M Mithun, FOUR! This one comes as a full toss and Mithun gets out the reverse lap. The ball races past short third man and races to the fence.
13.6 : R Jadeja to M Mithun, HOWZZAT? Jadeja reckons Mithun is a goner. The umpire doesn't. Rohit ponders about the review but does not take it. Full and around off, Mithun gets a big stride forward and looks to defend but seems to have been hit on the pads. Oh dear... replays show that the ball hit the pad, then the bat! And... Hawk Eye reckons it to be dead plumb!
14.1 : K Yadav to M Rahim, Full and around off, watchfully defended.
14.2 : K Yadav to M Rahim, Full and around leg, swept past the man at short fine leg for a couple.
14.3 : K Yadav to M Rahim, Outside off, Mushfiqur looks to steer it to third man but misses.
14.4 : K Yadav to M Rahim, On middle and leg, Rahim stays back and works it to the leg side.
14.5 : K Yadav to M Rahim, This time he gets it in the gap on the leg side for a single.
14.6 : K Yadav to M Mithun, Full and outside off, driven straight to mid off.
DRINKS BREAK. India's 70 minutes. No sweat, not much effort. Bangladesh have not been able to read the bounce, nor the seam movement, nor the spin. Bhuvi and Bumrah did superbly with the new balls while Jadeja and Kuldeep are now choking the run flow. In the other game, AFGHANISTAN ARE 57/2 IN 15 OVERS after opting to bat against Pakistan in Abu Dhabi. Rahmat Shah and Hashmatullah Shahidi are gracing the pitch for now.
15.1 : R Jadeja to M Rahim, Full and outside off, pushed towards point.
15.2 : R Jadeja to M Rahim, This one pitches around off, spins away, Rahim lunges to defend but gets a thick outside edge which goes towards short third man.
15.3 : R Jadeja to M Rahim, Excellent stop again. Short and wide outside off, Mushfiqur cuts it hard towards point but Manish Pandey dives full length to his right and makes a half-stop. He is the substitute today as well. A single taken.
Jadeja strikes! Mithun has been adjudged LBW but he has reviewed it. Is it pad first or bat first? Seems to be pad first to the naked eye...
15.4 : R Jadeja to M Mithun, OUT! Pad first it is and Mithun is a goner! Plumb LBW. The straight ball, as is always from Jaddu, Mithun looked to defend but got hit on the pads. The ball seemed to hit the bat and pad at the same time. Jadeja appealed, in fact, he was the lone one appealing as Dhoni was not too sure. The umpire thought for a while and then raised his finger. The two batsmen got together, had a small chat and then referred it upstairs. There was an element of doubt with the ball hit
Mahmudullah is the new man in at number 6, replacing Mithun.
15.5 : R Jadeja to Mahmudullah, Full and around off, watchfully pushed to the off side.
15.6 : R Jadeja to Mahmudullah, Defended off the front foot by the batsman presenting the full face of the bat. Just one run and a wicket from that over. The comeback man's figures read 4-0-20-2 at the moment.
Yuzvendra Chahal is back. Just the one over in Powerplay 1.
16.1 : Y Chahal to M Rahim, Full and around leg, Rahim looks to defend but gets a thick inside edge onto his pads. It pops up but there is no short leg to catch it. Well, normally short legs are not in place in limited-overs cricket.
0.0 : Is that out too? Dhoni reckons that he has Rahim stumped. Referred upstairs...
16.2 : Y Chahal to M Rahim, NOT OUT. There did not seem to be enough evidence to rule Rahim out. A lovely big spinning leg spinner from the leg spinner Chahal, pitching around middle and then spinning away. Rahim got down and went for a sweep but missed. Dhoni collected and whipped off the bails and then appealed loudly. He reckoned that was out and had it referred upstairs. Plenty of replays were seen and eventually, it was too close to call. Not sure, hence not out. And now, delving into the nu
16.3 : Y Chahal to M Rahim, Driven through mid off by the batsman. One run added to the total.
16.4 : Y Chahal to Mahmudullah, LUCKY! Chahal nearly had one. The googly outside off, Mahmudullah looked to drive it through the covers but was taken aback by the ball spinning in. Clearly he did not read it, hence left a massive gap between bat and pad. However, luckily for him, the ball took the inside edge and just missed the leg stump! A single taken towards fine leg.
16.5 : Y Chahal to M Rahim, Full and outside off, driven straight to mid off.
16.6 : Y Chahal to M Rahim, The batsman has pushed it to the cover region. One run added to the total.

17.4 : R Jadeja to M Rahim, The batsman was beaten and missed the line of the delivery.
17.5 : R Jadeja to M Rahim, The batsman has punched the ball off the back foot.
17.6 : R Jadeja to M Rahim, OUT! Caught! Half the side is down and Bangladesh, Bangladesh, Bangladesh - are going down very badly. One of their best batsman is gone. Full and outside off, Rahim brings out the reverse sweep but can only hit it as far as short third man. Yuzvendra Chahal leaps and takes it nicely. 5th wicket down in 18 overs. Will we get to Powerplay 3?
Mosaddek Hossain walks in at number 7, replacing Rahim.
18.1 : Y Chahal to Mahmudullah, Full and outside off, pushed to the off side.
18.2 : Y Chahal to Mahmudullah, The batsman fails to put bat on ball.
18.3 : Y Chahal to Mahmudullah, Around off, watchfully defended.
18.4 : Y Chahal to Mahmudullah, Floated outside off, driven through the covers for a single.
Two slips in place. Oh ho!!!
18.5 : Y Chahal to M Hossain, Floated around middle and leg, Mossaddek lunges and defends.
18.6 : Y Chahal to M Hossain, Should India have a short leg as well? What a delivery. Full and outside off, the googly, but Mosaddek does not pick it. Goes at it with hard hands, lunging to defend but the ball spins in, takes the inside edge and flies through the vacant short leg region.
19.1 : R Jadeja to Mahmudullah, Outside off, punched towards cover.
19.2 : R Jadeja to Mahmudullah, Around off, watchfully blocked out.
19.3 : R Jadeja to Mahmudullah, Defended off the front foot by the batsman presenting the full face of the bat.
19.4 : R Jadeja to Mahmudullah, Outside off, played towards point.
19.5 : R Jadeja to Mahmudullah, Full and outside off, driven through the covers for a single.

20.5 : Y Chahal to Mahmudullah, Tossed up outside off, driven over cover for a single.
20.6 : Y Chahal to M Hossain, Another ripper. Chahal tosses this on leg, Mosaddek lunges to block but the ball spins past the outside edge.

21.2 : R Jadeja to Mahmudullah, The batsman has defended it by getting right behind the line of the delivery.

21.6 : R Jadeja to Mahmudullah, Tossed up outside off, watchfully blocked.
22.1 : Y Chahal to M Hossain, The batsman has defended it by getting right behind the line of the delivery.
0.0 : Interesting thoughts from Scott Styris on air. With the pitch turning so much, it will be tempting for Rohit to have his off side packed. But he has kept an in-out field. Why? Because of the deadly googly which Chahal possesses. So the skipper wants some protection on the leg side. Though, the Kiwi also says that Rohit can do one thing. He can have two slips and then bring mid-wicket to the off side. By doing so, he can leave that region vacant and entice the batsmen to go against the turn.
22.2 : Y Chahal to M Hossain, Full again, watchfully blocked.
22.3 : Y Chahal to M Hossain, DROPPED! Third caught and bowled chance put down by Chahal in this Asia Cup. Full, around middle, Mosaddek comes forward and looks to go down the ground. He does not time it well and the ball goes back to the bowler. Chahal dives full length to his right but does not take it. He dropped one against Hong Kong, in the last game as well and now today. Should have taken all three, especially when he finishes his bowling action so quickly.
22.4 : Y Chahal to M Hossain, Down the leg side, Hossain looks to flick but misses. But no wide signalled.
22.5 : Y Chahal to M Hossain, Pushed to the cover region by the batsman. They pick up a single.
22.6 : Y Chahal to Mahmudullah, Defended off the front foot by the batsman presenting the full face of the bat.

24.3 : K Yadav to Mahmudullah, Full and just outside off, watchfully dead-batted.
24.4 : K Yadav to Mahmudullah, Outside off, short again, eased through point for a single.
24.5 : K Yadav to M Hossain, The googly, around off, spinning away, Mosaddek just puts his bat to defend but is comprehensively beaten.
24.6 : K Yadav to M Hossain, Thrown up, outside off, driven straight to cover.

Stumped? Dhoni has produced another beauty. But the naked eye reckons that Mosaddek is in.
26.4 : K Yadav to M Hossain, NOT OUT. Mosaddek never left the crease. Magnificent bowling and keeping though. Kuldeep tosses up a googly, outside off and Hossain looks to drive. He misses, as he misreads the googly. But Dhoni does not miss and whips off the bails furiously. It is referred upstairs and replays confirm that Mr. Hossain can live a bit longer.

He tosses this one up and drags his length back this time. Hossain kneels on one knee and tries to slog sweep it across but he is nowhere near the pitch of the ball. The ball turns away and takes the top edge of his bat. Dhoni behind the stumps is safe as a house. Can Ravindra finish with a 5-wicket haul?

41.1 : B Kumar to M Mortaza, Excellent fielding! Rohit and all the Indians have been brilliant on the field today. Well, barring perhaps Chahal. Short and outside off, Mortaza crunched this through the covers but the Indian skipper threw himself to his right and made a brilliant stop.

44.6 : Y Chahal to M Mortaza, On middle and leg, nudged fine down the leg side for a run. 10-0-40-0 tonight for Chahal tonight.
Jasprit Bumrah is back on. 7-1-31-1 so far.
45.1 : J Bumrah to M Mortaza, OUCH! That would have hurt. A short ball outside off, Mortaza goes for the pull but misses and is hit on the thighs. He seems to be in discomfort, with the physio out to check.

46.3 : B Kumar to M Mortaza, OUT! Caught at short fine leg. Mortaza departs and the excellent stand is broken. Walks across his sticks, takes the ball on the full and then tries to help it over short fine leg but does not get the elevation. Jasprit Bumrah over there times his jump to perfection and that ends the story. A superb partnership of 66 from 79 balls comes to an end. At least gives some respect to the total.
Mustafizur Rahman walks out at number 10, replacing his skipper.
46.4 : B Kumar to M Rahman, Outside off, punched to the off side.
46.5 : B Kumar to M Rahman, Very full, almost a yorker, outside off, Rahman just about digs it out.

47.2 : J Bumrah to M Hasan, OUT! Mehidy holes out. He had to go for it, given that only two wickets were left. A length ball, outside off, Hasan looks to slog across the line but is done in by the off cutter. There is less power in that shot and Shikhar Dhawan comes running in from deep mid-wicket to take a simple catch. This 42 from 50 has given Bangladesh some respectability at least.
Rubel Hossain is the last man in. Can 10 and 11 bat out 16 balls?

48.3 : B Kumar to R Hossain, TOP EDGE, DROPPED! Very tough chance and an excellent attempt by Ravindra Jadeja. A short ball outside off, Rubel backs away and then attempts the pull. He gets a top edge which goes high in the air. Jadeja runs quickly to his left from backward point and it is actually backward, which makes it even more difficult. Still, he manages to get his fingertips to the ball but it does not stick. A single taken.
48.4 : B Kumar to M Rahman, Another short ball, following the batsman, Mustafizur backs away, looks to hook and gets a massive top edge. The ball is high in the air but nowhere near square leg. It drops safely and the batsmen take a run.

48.6 : B Kumar to R Hossain, Punched off the back foot by the batsman. 10-1-32-3 for Bhuvi tonight.
49.1 : J Bumrah to M Rahman, OUT! All out with 5 balls to spare. A short ball, as has been the case in these last few deliveries, Mustafizur backs away, looks to pull but all he gets is a top edge. The ball has gone nowhere and Shikhar Dhawan takes it calmly at extra cover. BANGLADESH HAVE BEEN BOWLED OUT FOR 173.
By no means is this a match-winning total but to get to 173 from 101/7 is a good effort. At least, Bangladesh have played till the 50th over. Another clinical bowling display by the Indians. It was Ravindra Jadeja's 4-fer which demolished the opposition in reality. No batsman was able to answer his accurate lines and lengths and ended up losing their wickets.
Talk about Jadeja, here he is - being interviewed by Russel Arnold. He says that he is really happy to perform so well in his comeback game. Mentions that he was not focusing on his no balls and his foot just went out of the crease. Adds that he was thinking where to ball to Shakib Al Hasan as he was eyeing to hit him over mid-wicket. On being asked about the run chase, Jadeja is confident about India's batting line-up and is gung-ho that they will chase this total down.
There were other contributions too - Bhuvi being accurate with his 3-fer while Bumrah grabbed 3 as well. Strangely, and that too, as a moral victory for Bangladesh, 'KUL-CHA' went wicketless. Yet, they could not even touch 200. Such is the strength of this Indian bowling line-up.
Hard to find any positives in this batting by Bangladesh. They struggled in the heat and were 7 down with the score just touching 100. Mehidy Hasan and skipper Mortaza then gutsed it out to give some sort of a target else it would actually have been a cakewalk. It still looks like one - but at least, if a couple of quick wickets go early, then Bangladesh will feel they have some sort of a chance.
174 to win. What do you reckon? Probably 50 runs short. Bangladesh have quality spinners in their ranks but India have batsmen who play spin quite well. However, if they can get rid of the top 3 quickly, the spinners might just test the nerves of the unexposed middle order. Join us back at 1945 local (1545 GMT) for the run chase.
