0.1 : D Chahar to de Kock, Starts with a beauty of a delivery. It was a jaffa. On a good length and outside off, de Kock looks to defend but it just misses the outside edge due to the away movement and bounce on this one.
0.2 : D Chahar to de Kock, Bowls on a good length and outside off, de Kock shoulders his arms to this one.

1.1 : S Thakur to R Sharma, Bowls a yorker on middle, Sharma digs it out towards mid-wicket.
1.2 : S Thakur to R Sharma, On a good length and outside off, Sharma comes forward to defend but gets beaten on this one. There is some bounce and movement for the fast bowlers here.
1.3 : S Thakur to R Sharma, Length delivery on off, the skipper plays it to point where Raina does well to stop it.
1.4 : S Thakur to R Sharma, On a good length and outside off, Sharma looks to drive away from the body but misses it.

2.1 : D Chahar to R Sharma, Length delivery on middle, Sharma flicks it towards square leg where Shardul Thakur misfields and concedes a run.
2.2 : D Chahar to de Kock, FOUR! Fortuitous! Mumbai will not mind as they get their first boundary of the game. Outside off, moving away, de Kock looks to push through the off side but gets a thick inside edge which rockets past the stumps to fine leg!
2.3 : D Chahar to de Kock, OUT! Caught next ball! De Kock falls early. A short ball outside off, de Kock looks to pull but the ball goes off the inner half of the bat. Probably because it skidded off the deck. So instead of going to mid-wicket, the ball travels to square leg where Kedar Jadhav completes the formalities. Replays show that the bat twisted a bit as well. Early strike then for Chennai and who is the hero? Deepak Chahar - their go-to Powerplay man.
Suryakumar Yadav comes in at number 3, replacing de Kock.

3.2 : S Thakur to S Yadav, FOUR! BEAUTY! He is such a sight to watch. Overpitched from Thakur and Yadav drives it straight back to where it came from. Down the ground, past mid on. Consecutive boundaries.
3.3 : S Thakur to S Yadav, Short of a length delivery, Yadav pulls it through square leg for a single.
3.4 : S Thakur to R Sharma, FOUR! Rohit into the act now! Poor bowling from Shardul. 'Loose bowling coming in all sorts of packages', says Matthew Hayden on air. Short and wide outside off, Sharma flays hard and gets it wide of point for the third boundary of the over.
3.5 : S Thakur to R Sharma, WIDE! Bowls short down the leg side, Sharma looks to pull but misses it.
S Thakur to R Sharma, Full on off, Sharma drives it towards covers for a run.
3.6 : S Thakur to S Yadav, Length delivery on middle, Yadav flicks it towards square leg for a run. 16 runs have come from the over. Big over for Mumbai.
4.1 : D Chahar to S Yadav, Length delivery outside off, Yadav taps it to point.
4.2 : D Chahar to S Yadav, FOUR! Stand and deliver! We have a mid off, cover, cover-point and point. But Yadav still finds the gap. A length ball outside off, Surya stands tall and punches it sweetly, right where extra cover would have been. But there is no one there.
4.3 : D Chahar to S Yadav, MISFIELD, FOUR! Again, SKY has two boundaries in as many balls. On middle and leg, Yadav flicks it through mid-wicket. Ambati Rayudu gets to the ball and puts in a dive but cannot quite stop it. He then gets up and runs after the ball, dives near the boundary again and tries to sweep the ball back in with his left hand but fails again.
4.4 : D Chahar to S Yadav, FOUR! Hat-trick of fours for Yadav! Similar ball, too straight, on the pads and this time Suryakumar flicks it effortlessly wide of mid on. No dive or chase this time.

6.6 : I Tahir to S Yadav, Tossed up on off, Yadav drives it straight back towards the bowler. Imran Tahir gives a stare at the batsman.
Ravindra Jadeja into the attack.
Rohit has been caught behind! But has Jadeja overstepped? Referred upstairs....
7.1 : R Jadeja to R Sharma, OUT! Given out caught behind! Well, Rohit will feel aggrieved by that. Entire Mumbai camp will be. Replays show that when Jadeja landed his foot, his heel was on the line, in the air and then got dragged in. However, after numerous replays, the umpire has given it out. On the dismissal, it was slowly tossed up outside off, Rohit looked to push at it but missed. The outside edge was snapped by Dhoni in a flash. Controversial dismissal.
0.0 : Yuvraj Singh walks in at number 4, replacing his skipper.
7.2 : R Jadeja to Y Singh, Tossed up on off, Yuvraj gets off the mark with a single towards cover.
7.3 : R Jadeja to S Yadav, Floated on off, Yadav plays it to covers.

8.2 : I Tahir to Y Singh, Short delivery on middle, Singh pulls it through square leg. The fielder in the deep does well to stop it. The batsmen pick up a couple. 50 UP FOR MUMBAI!
Yuvraj has been caught out at long off but the umpire is wanting to check whether the fielder touched the ropes...
8.3 : I Tahir to Y Singh, OUT! It is a clean catch and Yuvraj walks back too. Another big blow. Tahir has his second. Floated outside off, Yuvraj leans and lofts it over long off. At first, it seems like he will clear the boundary but then Ambati Rayudu is seen pouching the catch at the boundary line. He celebrates but the umpires ask Yuvi to wait. Replays are crystal clear that it is a clean catch.
STRATEGIC BREAK. Chennai are picking up wickets at regular intervals. Cannot say that any one ball was wicket-taking but such has been the day so far. There is already plenty of dew on the outfield, so Mumbai will have to keep on scoring - as anything less than 180 could be noncompetitive. KRUNAL PANDYA walks in at number 5, replacing Yuvraj. Left-hander replaces left-hander.
8.4 : I Tahir to K Pandya, Floated on off, Pandya defends it off the front foot.
8.5 : I Tahir to K Pandya, Tossed up on off, Krunal plays it straight back towards the bowler where Tahir does well to stop it.

10.1 : I Tahir to S Yadav, Flighted delivery on off, Yadav defends it off the back foot.
10.2 : I Tahir to S Yadav, FOUR! Terrific batting. Bowled at 104 kph, Suryakumar gets down and sweeps it ferociously past short fine leg. He is playing a beauty here, is Surya. If Mumbai are going to get a big total, he needs to be playing for a while.
10.3 : I Tahir to S Yadav, Full toss on off, Yadav drives it to covers.
10.4 : I Tahir to S Yadav, Tossed up on off, Yadav drives it towards mid off for a single.

11.1 : M Sharma to S Yadav, Full on middle, Yadav drives it through mid on for a run.
11.2 : M Sharma to K Pandya, Full and outside off, Krunal looks to drive but gets it of the inner half of the bat. It goes towards mid on.
11.3 : M Sharma to K Pandya, Full again on off, Pandya drives it to covers.
11.4 : M Sharma to K Pandya, FOUR! Up and over! Intelligent batting from Krunal. Spots that mid off is up and he goes exactly over him, one bounce and into the fence!
11.5 : M Sharma to K Pandya, FOUR! Tough luck for Rayudu. This is a brutal hit from Pandya. Dropped short from Mohit, KP swivels and pulls it powerfully, straight to Ambati Rayudu at deep mid-wicket. He stops the ball on the bounce, but the power on the shot takes him beyond the ropes. He tries to recover and then push the ball away but at that time, he is outside the boundary. Now he comes inside and tries to push it away but by that time, the ball touches the ropes.
11.6 : M Sharma to K Pandya, Length delivery on leg, Pandya plays it towards mid on. The batsmen change ends. 10 from the over.
Dwayne Bravo time.
12.1 : D Bravo to K Pandya, Length delivery on middle, Pandya flicks it towards mid-wicket for a single.
12.2 : D Bravo to S Yadav, On a good length on off, Yadav defends it off the back foot.
12.3 : D Bravo to S Yadav, Length delivery on off, Yadav plays it towards point for a run.
12.4 : D Bravo to K Pandya, DROPPED! Mohit Sharma the culprit. Simple chance. Full and outside off, Krunal hits it towards mid off where Mohit Sharma should have gulped it but probably because of the dew, the ball pops out.
12.5 : D Bravo to K Pandya, Length delivery outside off, Krunal looks to go big but gets an outside edge. It goes towards third man where Kedar Jadhav comes running in but misfields. The batsmen think about the second but then do not run.
12.6 : D Bravo to S Yadav, Bowls a yorker on middle, Yadav flicks it towards square leg for a run.
Shardul Thakur returns. 2-0-17-0 so far.
13.1 : S Thakur to S Yadav, Full on off, Yadav drives it back towards Thakur who in his followthrough fails to collect. It goes past him towards mid off for a single.
0.0 : Krunal Pandya has been adjudged LBW! But he takes the review. Inside edge? Missing leg? referred upstairs...
13.2 : S Thakur to K Pandya, SAFE! Decision overturned! Snickometer shows a spike when the ball passes the inner half of the bat and Krunal gets another life. Full and fast from Thakur, around middle, coming in slightly, Krunal looks to flick it without moving his feet and gets hit on the pads. Thakur appeals and umpire Tucker gives it out. Pandya takes the review and technology saves him.
13.3 : S Thakur to K Pandya, Length delivery on middle, Krunal flicks it towards square leg for a run.
13.4 : S Thakur to S Yadav, Full and outside off, Yadav drives it towards covers for a run.
13.5 : S Thakur to K Pandya, Full again on middle, Pandya flicks it to mid-wicket.
13.6 : S Thakur to K Pandya, On a length on middle and leg, Pandya flicks it towards square leg. The batsmen cross ends. Just 4 runs from the over. Mumbai need big overs to cross 170.
STRATEGIC BREAK. 6 overs left then. Mumbai have been given a new lease of life with this Krunal-Surya partnership. Yadav seems to have mellowed down a touch but that is because Pandya has come out with full flair. In a partnership of 32, KP has 20. They should easily reach 150 from here but with the batting to come, 175 is not impossible to get. That will change the course of this game a bit. Here comes IMRAN TAHIR again. 3-0-14-1 so far.
14.1 : I Tahir to K Pandya, Tossed up on leg, Pandya sweeps it towards deep fine leg. The batsmen pick up a couple.
14.2 : I Tahir to K Pandya, SIX! BOOM! There comes the first biggie of the night. Floated around middle, Krunal gets down and swings this over long on! The stand moves to 40 from 35 balls.
14.3 : I Tahir to K Pandya, Full toss outside off, Pandya drives it wide of mid off for a single.
14.4 : I Tahir to S Yadav, Full on middle, Yadav drives it towards mid on for a run.
14.5 : I Tahir to K Pandya, Short delivery on middle, Pandya pulls it towards mid-wicket where it falls short of Suresh Raina.
14.6 : I Tahir to K Pandya, DIRECT HIT COULD HAVE HAD KRUNAL! Another piece of luck for Pandya. He comes down the track, takes it on the full and flicks it straight to Raina at mid-wicket again. Takes him on and is gone for all money. Raina prefers the direct hit and goes hard at the bowler's end but misses. The dive would not have saved KP.
Dwayne Bravo gets a change of ends. 1-0-4-0 so far.
15.1 : D Bravo to K Pandya, Full on middle, Pandya flicks it through mid-wicket for a run.
15.2 : D Bravo to S Yadav, FOUR! Excellent placement. Picked the gap to perfection. Surya knew that third man was up and he was up for it. Backed away to the leg side, the bowler followed him, cramped him for room but Yadav still managed to guide it square of short third man!
15.3 : D Bravo to S Yadav, Full toss outside off, Yadav works it towards mid-wicket for a single.
15.4 : D Bravo to K Pandya, Full on middle, Krunal drives it straight past the bowler. It goes towards long off where Jadeja tries to collect but fumbles. The batsmen pick up a couple. 50-run stand between Krunal Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav.
15.5 : D Bravo to K Pandya, Short of a length delivery, Pandya looks to loft it but mistimes it. It falls in no man's land and goes towards mid-wicket. The batsmen take a run.
15.6 : D Bravo to S Yadav, Full on off, Yadav looks to drive but gets a bottom edge on this one. It goes towards short third man for a single. 10 runs have come from this over. 21 runs have come from the last two overs.
Mohit Sharma returns. 2-0-11-0 so far.
16.1 : M Sharma to S Yadav, Short and outside off, Surya slaps a pull shot to deep mid-wicket for a single.
16.2 : M Sharma to K Pandya, TOP EDGE, CATCH MISSED, FOUR! A length ball outside off, Pandya swings hard but gets a top edge. The ball circles around short third man but just eludes Kedar Jadhav. He runs back and then tries to pull it back with a slide but in vain.
16.3 : M Sharma to K Pandya, FOUR! Just over! Krunal is flirting with his luck. Outside off, Pandya looks to go off side but mistimes it over extra cover. Shane Watson leaps but misses.
16.4 : M Sharma to K Pandya, OUT! Caught! Third time unlucky for Krunal. Actually, it is the third time just in this over. Overall, it will be the nth time. Outside off, fractionally short, Pandya backs away and slaps hard but gets more height than distance. Ravindra Jadeja gets across from long off and takes it Australian style with fingers pointing skywards. Excellent knock from Krunal - injecting some momentum into the innings.
Brother replaces brother. Hardik Pandya comes in at number 6, replacing Krunal.
16.5 : M Sharma to S Yadav, SIX! BOSH! 6th League Fifty for Surya! Full and outside off, Yadav gets down and slog sweeps it over mid-wicket! Raises his bat to the crowd. Can he stay till the end? 170 is still on.
16.6 : M Sharma to S Yadav, Full on middle, Yadav drives it through mid on for a run. 16 runs have come from the over.
17.1 : D Bravo to S Yadav, Full on middle, Suryakumar drives it through mid on for a single.
17.2 : D Bravo to H Pandya, Bowls a bouncer, Hardik Pandya does well to duck under it.
17.3 : D Bravo to H Pandya, Full on middle and leg, Pandya flicks it through square leg for a run.
17.4 : D Bravo to S Yadav, Bowls a slower length ball outside off, Yadav looks to go big but misses it.
17.5 : D Bravo to S Yadav, FOUR! BRUTAL! Yadav is slowly opening his arms now. Bravo misses his yorker length by a fraction and that is enough for Surya. Bludgeons it down the ground. Ravindra Jadeja races across to his left from long on, dives full length and looks to stop the ball. But it hits him on his hand and deflects away.
17.6 : D Bravo to S Yadav, OUT! Gone! Caught. Surya cannot quite stay till the end. A length ball, around middle, Yadav looks to swing hard but gets hit on the higher part of the bat. Gets more height than distance and Ravindra Jadeja takes a dolly at long on. Decent knock from Surya but now, Mumbai have two new batsmen in the middle. 100th wicket in the Indian T20 League playing for Chennai for Bravo!
Kieron Pollard comes in at number 7, replacing Suryakumar.
Shardul Thakur to bowl the 19th. 3-0-21-0 so far.
18.1 : S Thakur to H Pandya, SIX! CLOBBERED! Where has that gone? To Pune from Mumbai! A short ball, outside off, Hardik pulls it over mid-wicket for a colossal hit!
18.2 : S Thakur to H Pandya, Oops... nearly a calamity of errors. Full and wide outside off, Pandya carves it behind point. There is a fielder in the deep and the batsmen get a single. Wait. There is more to follow. Dhoni collects, fumbles and now Pollard wants a single. Hardik responds and starts to run but MS recovers quickly. Dives and has an under-arm shy at the bowler's end but misses.
18.3 : S Thakur to K Pollard, WIDE! Bowls it wide outside off, Pollard looks to swing at this one but misses it.
S Thakur to K Pollard, Bowls a bouncer, Pollard does well to duck under it.
18.4 : S Thakur to K Pollard, Full toss outside off, Pollard looks to drive but misses it.
18.5 : S Thakur to K Pollard, WIDE! Bowls short down the leg side, Pollard looks to pull but misses it.
S Thakur to K Pollard, SIX! This one has gone too! A length ball outside off, Pollard uses his long levers and swings it over mid-wicket!
18.6 : S Thakur to K Pollard, Full toss on middle, Pollard flicks it through mid-wicket. 16 runs have come from the over. Much-needed one for Mumbai.
19.1 : D Bravo to K Pollard, Full on middle, Pollard smashes it over mid on. It fell just short of Jadeja at long on. The batsmen take a single.
19.2 : D Bravo to H Pandya, WIDE! Full and down the leg side, Pandya looks to flick but misses it.
D Bravo to H Pandya, Low full toss outside off, Pandya squeezes it towards point for a run.
19.3 : D Bravo to K Pollard, NO BALL! SIX! Error and then a blunder from Bravo. Pollard's turn to dance. A full toss and that too above the waist. Caribbean power on display as Pollard swings it into orbit above mid-wicket. Replays show that it might have been a harsh call. That was not quite above the waist.
FREE HIT TIME!!!
D Bravo to K Pollard, DROPPED ON THE FREE HIT! It does not matter in terms of wickets but Deepak Chahar has given Mumbai two extra runs. Outside off, short in length, Pollard looks to pull but gets a top edge. It is a simple catch for Chahar at deep mid-wicket but he puts it down. By the time he recovers and throws the ball, the batsmen take the third!
19.4 : D Bravo to H Pandya, SIX! The helicopter Pandya! Hardik is pumped up. Full and outside off, Pandya swings it cleanly over mid-wicket!
19.5 : D Bravo to H Pandya, FOUR! Excellent batting. Full and wide outside off, Hardik gets this over cover and makes it another boundary ball!
19.6 : D Bravo to H Pandya, SIX! A flat hit on the final ball! Full and outside off, Hardik leans into this one and slices it over backward point. It goes all the way! 29 from the over as MUMBAI FINISH ON 170/5!
Krunal Pandya is having a chat with Alan Wilkins. Krunal says that Mumbai will be definitely happy with the score, especially where they were at the halfway stage. Adds that the wicket is sticky and the ball is not coming on to the bat. Praises his brother and Pollard for finishing the innings nicely. Says that early on, the ball was swinging a lot and batting was difficult. On Hardik's knock, Krunal says that he is happy for his brother but also adds that he is not surprised because he has seen
45 from the last 2 overs. 88 in the last 6. Mumbai were 82/3 at the end of the 14th. Their flight suddenly took a U-turn since then. Sensational batting.
With the ball swinging a bit early on, Chennai managed to get 3 quick wickets but they were mostly due to ill-timed shots. Krunal Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav started to get a partnership going but the latter strangely seemed to slow down after a superb start. The 62-run stand stalled the wicket-flow but the runs were not coming either.
Probably, the dismissals of Krunal and Surya came as a blessing in disguise for Mumbai. For the 6th wicket unbeaten stand added 45 in just 12 balls! Unfathomable.
Have the last 2 overs given Mumbai an edge over Chennai? Or with dew already making its presence, are the home side 10-15 runs short? We will get to know in a while...
0.0 : The run chase is about to begin. Shane Watson and Ambati Rayudu open the innings for Chennai. Jason Behrendorff to bowl first up, to Watto. Here we go. 171 needed from 120 balls.

0.4 : J Behrendorff to A Rayudu, OUT! Rayudu departs! A short of a length delivery on middle and shaping away. Rayudu was just looking to defend it but suddenly the ball gets big on him. The extra bounce takes the shoulder of the bat on its way to the keeper. De Kock takes an easy catch. The start Mumbai needed. Brilliant stuff from Behrendorff. Strikes in his very first over on debut.
Suresh Raina is the next batsman in.
0.5 : J Behrendorff to S Raina, A length delivery on off, Raina looks to defend it but gets beaten. Brilliant delivery that.
0.6 : J Behrendorff to S Raina, Another huge appeal for a caught behind! Not given this time. Gone off the pad. A length ball outside off, Raina looked ton defend but ended up playing outside the line. The ball came in, hit the pads and went to de Kock behind. No review from Mumbai and rightly so.
Lasith Malinga to bowl from the other end.
1.1 : L Malinga to S Watson, NO BALL! Malinga oversteps. On a good length on off, Watson looks to swing at this one but misses it.

2.2 : J Behrendorff to S Raina, Wide! This one way past the leg stump.

STRATEGIC BREAK TAKEN. That 15-run over has given some respite to Chennai. Mumbai were 45/1 at this stage, so if the visitors just build a partnership and score normally, they should be ahead of what the hosts were around the 15th over mark. 122 needed from 78 balls, difficult without wickets in hand but if wickets are there towards the end... A short ball, outside off, MS looks to pull but the ball skids on slightly. 17.5 : L Malinga to D Bravo, OUT! Caught down the leg side! That is a delivery from Malinga of the old. Those slinging yorkers. Bravo departs, becoming Slinga's third victim. A firing yorker, outside leg, Bravo is opened up, as he looks to dig it out but all he gets is an inside edge behind. Normally, those run away to the boundary. But not if there is an obstruction named Quinton de Kock. He flings himself to his left acrobatically and takes a stunner. That should be the end of the chase now and
Shardul Thakur walks in next, at number 9, replacing Bravo.

Supreme display of cricket by Mumbai to get to the century-mark in terms of wins. Not quite in the game for 14 overs but then superior quality exhibition in the next 26. Hardik and Pollard's explosion towards the end with the bat left Chennai gasping for breath and then they were choked further by some excellent fast bowling.
Watch out for this guy - Jason Behrendorff. He made an impact for Australia against India in his debut T20I, getting Virat Kohli caught for a duck. Here, he made an impact on League debut, getting Rayudu in his opening over and then Raina later on. Being rocked at 33/3, Chennai looked for some stability and Dhoni and Jadhav provided that. But with the required rate mounting, the pressure eventually got to Dhoni and then, the side started to slip. Kedar Jadhav played a lone hand, scoring 58 but n
Mumbai sized up the pitch quite well. They had bowlers who could hit the deck hard and they prospered. Behrendorff struck early with his 2 scalps while Hardik Pandya provided the change in momentum, ripping through the middle order, taking 3 wickets. Towards the end, Malinga helped himself to a couple, finishing with 3 wickets overall.
Chennai skipper, Mahendra Singh Dhoni says that quite a few things went wrong for them. Adds that they started well, were on top till the 12th-13th over but after that, the death bowling was not that great. Defends his bowlers as they are ones who rely more on yorkers and do not bowl back of a length. On the team meetings, MS says that they rarely have team meetings. Says further that one needs to assess which were the boundaries that could have been cut off in this game. On the change of moment
Kieron Pollard now comes up for a chat with Kevin Pietersen. Praises the Pandya brothers for doing consistently well. On his catch, he says that he always tries to make a difference at whatever opportunity. On his batting role, Pollard says that it varies according to different situations. On him not bowling, Kieron asks KP to ask that to Rohit Sharma. Says that Mumbai dwell on momentum. Observes that in all the games, they have batted well, scoring above 170. Hopes to take this momentum into th
Victorious Mumbai skipper, Rohit Sharma, says that every game is important and after losing 2 games at the start, every match is even more important now. Does not want the headache of needing to win all the games towards the end. Praises his side for being on the money right from ball 1. On getting to 170, Sharma agrees that he did not think that was enough but it was a fighting total. During the break, he thought that if Mumbai could pick up early wickets, they could apply pressure and that is
HARDIK PANDYA HAS BEEN NAMED THE MAN OF THE MATCH FOR HIS 8-BALL 25 AND 3/20. Feels humbled by the praises being showered on him and is happy to have contributed. On missing cricket, Hardik reminds us that he missed the game for around 7 months and he kept practicing during that time. Adds that it felt nice tonking the ball. Wants to dedicate this award to his family and friends. Stresses that his only focus is to play the Indian T20 League and make sure that India win the World Cup.
So a team which had never lost this season earns its first defeat.
