0.0 : Welcome to the coverage of game no. 3 of this year's Indian T20 League. It is a clash between two sides which struggled last year. Mumbai take on Delhi in the former's den. Both will be eager to start their campaign in the right manner. The hosts though are favourites heading into this encounter but let's not forget, it was Delhi who came out on top the last time they played here. Will they do so again? We will have to wait to find out.
TOSS - Up goes the coin and it lands in favor of the hosts. Mumbai elect to bowl first.
It's time to get going! Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw are the openers for Delhi. Rasikh Salam has been given the opportunity to begin proceedings with the ball. The 17-year old will be really excited. Here we go...
0.1 : R Salam to P Shaw, Lovely swinging delivery to begin proceedings. On a length around off, shaping in, Shaw pushes it towards extra cover where the fielder dives and makes a half stop. They cross. It's called a no ball for overstepping. Free Hit time...
R Salam to S Dhawan, Out off a Free Hit! Short in length and around off, Dhawan pulls it off his back foot and it goes over mid-wicket. Krunal in the deep catches it and immediately releases the ball. A single taken. Both the openers are off the mark.
0.2 : R Salam to P Shaw, Back of a length ball on middle, another pull shot, this time from Prithvi and it goes to deep mid-wicket. There is a fielder in the deep and hence once again it's only a run.
0.3 : R Salam to S Dhawan, Beauty of a delivery! This will make Salam feel a lot better about himself. On a length around middle, nipping away a shade, Dhawan tries his best to block but it whizzes past the blade.
0.4 : R Salam to S Dhawan, Short in length and outside off, Dhawan hits it off his back foot to cover-point for a run.
0.5 : R Salam to P Shaw, Misfield from Hardik! Fractionally short in length on off, Shaw punches it off his back foot to point where the fielder misfields and allows a run.
0.6 : R Salam to S Dhawan, Keeps his length short and on off, Dhawan goes back to cut but finds the point fielder. A decent first over by Rasikh in spite of overstepping once.
Mitchell McClenaghan to operate from the other end.
1.1 : M McClenaghan to P Shaw, Starts with his usual length which is back of a length. It's around off, Shaw hits off the back foot but finds the short cover fielder.
1.2 : M McClenaghan to P Shaw, FOUR! Good shot! Shaw anticipates a shorter delivery this time. Stays inside the crease and thumps his pull shot over mid-wicket for a boundary. Nice high back lift from Prithvi!
1.3 : M McClenaghan to P Shaw, OUT! Gone! Deviation off the surface and Shaw has edged it behind. It's on a length and angling away from the batsman. Shaw, minus any footwork, tries to force it through the off side but ends up getting a fat outside edge to the keeper. Quinton de Kock makes no mistake and Delhi have lost an early wicket.
Shreyas Iyer is in next.
1.4 : M McClenaghan to S Iyer, Good length ball on middle and leg, Iyer stays back and works it off his pads to mid-wicket.

2.4 : R Salam to S Iyer, A mistimed square cut and it goes off the behind off the bottom edge. De Kock dives but fails to cut it off. They cross.
2.5 : R Salam to S Dhawan, Lands it on a length and outside off, Dhawan mistimes this time, his drive to covers.
2.6 : R Salam to S Dhawan, Oversteps again, Salam. He serves a good length ball on off, Dhawan taps it down to cover-point for one. The young bowler seems nervous. Has to deal with yet another Free Hit now.
R Salam to S Iyer, FOUR! Just uses the pace of the bowler. 11 from the over. Rasikh offers width outside off, Shreyas stays put inside the crease and just opens the face of the bat to deflect it wide of short third man.
3.1 : M McClenaghan to S Dhawan, Steals a run. A length ball on off, angling in, Dhawan plays it down with soft hands to cover-point.
3.2 : M McClenaghan to S Iyer, Full in length on middle, at 134.3 kph, Shreyas covers the line and keeps it out on the off side. Looks for a run but it's not on.
3.3 : M McClenaghan to S Iyer, SIX! This one has gone all the way! McClenaghan delivers it full and outside off, Shreyas shows his class there as he lofts it nonchalantly over extra cover for a maximum.
3.4 : M McClenaghan to S Iyer, OUT! Kieron Pollard has taken a stunner! The Wankhede Stadium roars! This is outstanding stuff from the West Indian. Wow, just wow! Back of a length delivery outside off, Shreyas packs a punch from the back foot but fails to keep it down. Kieron Pollard manning the extra cover region flies to his right and has taken a stunning one-handed catch. The Mumbai players are mobbing him. Superb stuff.
Colin Ingram is in next.
3.5 : M McClenaghan to C Ingram, Shortish and on off, defended off the back foot to point.
3.6 : M McClenaghan to C Ingram, FOUR! Shot! Ingram has been in brilliant form of late and this shot proves it. A little bit of width on offer outside off, Colin attacks it and powers it past point for a boundary. Eventful over, 11 runs and a wicket from it!

5.5 : H Pandya to C Ingram, Shortish and on off, a back foot punch from Ingram, a shade uppish but through cover-point. One run added to the total.
5.6 : H Pandya to S Dhawan, Too full in length on middle, Dhawan bunts it down to mid on and the fielder is on the edge of the circle. A single to end the over, 9 from it. Powerplay done, a mixed-bag for both teams!
Time out taken! Superb cricket so far from both teams. Boundaries, wickets, a stunning catch, a few misfields...in just six overs. More to come. Rasikh Salam is back into the attack and this time he will have the protection in the deep as the field can relax now.
Confusion! Confusion! Colin Ingram is ready to take strike but... Shikhar Dhawan should be doing that. The umpire realizes it just in time. The batsmen switch ends. Umpire S Ravi is smiling, he nearly made a blunder there.
6.1 : R Salam to S Dhawan, Angles in a length ball on off, Dhawan tries flicking but misses. Going down and too high as well. Hence no appealing.

7.6 : H Pandya to C Ingram, Goes on the back foot and hits it through point for a run. 13 from the over, a good one for the boys from the capital city.
Spin time! Krunal Pandya is into the attack.
8.1 : K Pandya to C Ingram, FOUR! Like his younger brother, Krunal also begins by conceding a boundary. A long hop on middle, Ingram rocks back and pulls it thunderously to the deep mid-wicket fence.
8.2 : K Pandya to C Ingram, Pushed to the cover region by the batsman. They pick up a single.

10.3 : K Pandya to C Ingram, Play and a miss! Flatter and shorter outside off, Colin tries to cut but misses.
10.4 : K Pandya to C Ingram, FOUR! Bang! Krunal drags his length short and serves it outside off. Ingram rocks back and blazes it through cover-point. Suryakumar tries his best to pull it back but fails.
10.5 : K Pandya to C Ingram, FOUR! This one has gone to the left of Suryakumar and he stands no chance of even attempting to cut it off. Flat and shorter outside off, Ingram shows no mercy and muscles it to the sweeper cover fence.
10.6 : K Pandya to C Ingram, Driven towards the mid on region. The batsmen have run through for a single. 13 from the over, runs continue to flow for Delhi.

Ben Cutting is introduced into the attack.
12.1 : Ben Cutting to C Ingram, A soft edge and it doesn't carry to de Kock! A length ball on off, Ingram pushes inside the line and nicks it behind. A good diving stop by the South African.
12.2 : Ben Cutting to C Ingram, FOUR! A shorter delivery, slower in pace, Ingram shuffles across the stumps and spoons it over short fine leg for a boundary.
12.3 : Ben Cutting to C Ingram, Shortish and outside off, cut from the back foot to deep cover for a run.
12.4 : Ben Cutting to S Dhawan, FOUR! Effortless! Cutting puts it on a shorter length outside off, angling away from the southpaw, Dhawan stays back and runs it down through the gap between backward point and short third man.
12.5 : Ben Cutting to S Dhawan, Back of a length delivery on middle, pulled to deep mid-wicket for a run.
12.6 : Ben Cutting to C Ingram, OUT! The Aussie strikes to break the 83-run stand! A much-desired breakthrough for Mumbai! The slower one has done wonders for Cutting. He serves it outside off on a length, Ingram heaves it over mid-wicket but his shot lacks proper connection. Hardik Pandya in the deep moves back a bit and catches the ball comfortably. End of a valuable knock from the South African. Now, it's over to the middle order to take it forward.
Rishabh Pant arrives.
13.1 : H Pandya to R Pant, Beaten! A nervous poke inside the line from Pant to a shortish delivery outside off. He is lucky not to have edged it to the keeper.
13.2 : H Pandya to R Pant, That's up in the air, doesn't carry to mid off. Kevin Pietersen terms it as a silly shot on air. Pant tries to flick it over mid-wicket without giving attention to the variation in pace. It comes slowly off the surface to catch the top edge. Balloons in the air and falls well short of mid off. Heart-in-mouth stuff for Rishabh.
13.3 : H Pandya to R Pant, Stays back to a length ball and punches it to covers.
13.4 : H Pandya to R Pant, Angles in a length ball on off, Pant is on the front foot as he pushes it back to the bowler.

14.1 : Ben Cutting to S Dhawan, Good length ball on middle and leg, Dhawan turns it behind square leg and the short fine leg fielder cuts it off. A single taken.
14.2 : Ben Cutting to R Pant, FOUR! Lands just inside the rope. Shortish and on middle, Pant shuffles across the stumps and powers it over backward square leg. It nearly went all the way.
14.3 : Ben Cutting to R Pant, So much of innovation for just a run. Is that risk worth it? A reverse-batted shot to sweeper cover for a run. Could have done that by playing a traditional drive also. Maybe, the intention was to play it squarer but the execution wasn't there.
14.4 : Ben Cutting to S Dhawan, Taps a length ball down to covers for a run.
14.5 : Ben Cutting to R Pant, FOUR! Not in any control of the shot! Cutting bangs in a short ball on middle, Pant gloves his attempted pull shot and it loops over the keeper for a boundary.
14.6 : Ben Cutting to R Pant, SIX! No half measures there, plenty of bat behind this one! Pant loves playing pull shots. As soon as he receives the desired length, he shows no mercy in punishing it over the backward square leg fence. 17 from the over!
15.1 : H Pandya to S Dhawan, OUT! Dhawan holes out! He has found the fielder in the deep with surgical precision. A cutter by Hardik, shorter and slower outside off, Shikhar pulls it early and straight down Suryakumar Yadav's throat at deep mid-wicket. He is a safe fielder and won't drop those sitters. Dhawan's uncharacteristic knock is over.
Time out! Mumbai will be feeling a lot better after getting Dhawan but the main danger lies with Pant. They would have to bowl well in the death overs. Keemo Paul is the new batsman.
15.2 : H Pandya to K Paul, Wide! Short and sliding down the leg side, Paul tries to pull but misses.
H Pandya to K Paul, At 131.8 kph, Pandya spears in a length ball on off, Keemo tries defending from the crease but gets an inside edge onto the pads. Pant was eyeing a run but Keemo was in no position.
15.3 : H Pandya to K Paul, Misses the flick shot and it goes off his pads to the leg side. They cross for a run.
15.4 : H Pandya to R Pant, SIX! Pant with another big shot across the line. A seam up delivery, landing a touch short, Rishabh fetches it from outside off and drags his pull shot over backward square leg fence. Hardik smiles!
15.5 : H Pandya to R Pant, FOUR! Top class! Short and wide outside off, plenty of width available, Pant latches onto it and nails it over extra cover for a boundary.
15.6 : H Pandya to R Pant, SIX! 18 coming off this over! Pant is finding his range. Short and angled in, Pant picks it from outside off and dismisses it from his sight. It flies over the fielders in the deep and clears square leg.
Mitchell McClenaghan is back on.
16.1 : M McClenaghan to K Paul, Hammers a length ball to sweeper cover where Hardik makes a fine stop. Saves two.
16.2 : M McClenaghan to K Paul, The batsman plays a pull shot to this short delivery. One run added to the total.
Rishabh Pant takes the middle stump guard for Mitchell McClenaghan who has switched to 'round the wicket now. Mid off comes up, cover drops back.
16.3 : M McClenaghan to R Pant, FOUR! A high full toss outside off, Pant throws his bat at it with the intention to swing it over the leg side. But it takes the outer half and flies over mid off for a boundary.
16.4 : M McClenaghan to R Pant, Another full toss, this time it's heaved to deep square leg for a run. Pant's bottom hand came off while playing that shot.
16.5 : M McClenaghan to K Paul, OUT! Keemo Paul fails to impress in his debut! He has been bounced out by McClenaghan. Shorter one outside off, Keemo rocks back to pull but it takes the top edge and flies behind the stumps. De Kock moves across to his right and takes the skier safely.
Axar Patel is in next.
16.6 : M McClenaghan to R Pant, FOUR! Poor line from McClenaghan. From 'round the wicket, he digs in a short ball around leg to Pant. Rishabh just moves inside the bounce and hooks it fine down the leg side for a boundary.
Jasprit Bumrah is back. 2-0-10-0 so far.
17.1 : J Bumrah to A Patel, FOUR! Shot! Bumrah starts his spell with a short ball outside off, Axar keeps his weight on the back leg and carves it over point for a boundary.
17.2 : J Bumrah to A Patel, OUT! First wicket of this season's Indian T20 League for Bumrah! He gets it with a good use of a short ball. Pitches it around off, Axar tries to use the pace and ramp it down over third man but ends up hitting it straight to Rasikh Salam in the deep. Mumbai doing well by picking wickets at regular intervals.
Rahul Tewatia is in next.
17.3 : J Bumrah to R Pant, SIX! What a shot from Pant! Moves to 47! Bumrah lands it on a length around middle, Rishabh stands back, swings his bat helicopter style and dispatches it over backward square leg for a maximum.
17.4 : J Bumrah to R Pant, Swing and a miss! Bumrah bounces back here. He angles across a length ball outside off, Pant tries to heave but misses.
17.5 : J Bumrah to R Pant, FOUR! Fifty up for Rishabh Pant! In just 18 balls! This is the fastest Indian T20 League Fifty against Mumbai! Back of a length delivery around leg, Pant gets on top of the bounce and with the minimum followthrough of his bat, he has whipped it behind square leg. Mastering the short-arm jab shots. Yuvraj somewhere in the field will be feeling proud of that!
17.6 : J Bumrah to R Pant, Quietly flicks a full ball on the leg side and takes a single. 15 from the over, 64 in the last 5 overs.
Rasikh Salam to bowl out.
18.1 : R Salam to R Pant, Full in length and outside off, Pant drills his drive down to long off for a run.
18.2 : R Salam to R Tewatia, Gets behind the line of the delivery and hits it down to long off for a run.
18.3 : R Salam to R Pant, An off-pace delivery, short and wide outside off, Pant drags his pull shot down the ground and scampers back for the second run. The throw from the deep comes to the bowler who collects and deflects it onto the stumps at his end. Appeals but nothing from the umpire.
18.4 : R Salam to R Pant, SIX! Pant has targeted the square leg field with his pull shots all evening. Not sure, why are they feeding him there? Salam digs in a short ball and Pant dismisses it via his pull shot over square leg for a biggie.
18.5 : R Salam to R Pant, Wide! Salam feels the pressure. Slips one way outside off.
R Salam to R Pant, SIX! Ridiculous hitting! Why use two hands when just one hand is good enough! A length ball outside off, Rishabh has literally swung it with just one hand and sent it whistling over wide long on for a maximum.
18.6 : R Salam to R Pant, FOUR! Boom! 21 from the over! No mercy from Pant. Attacks a length ball outside off and clobbers it over covers for a boundary. A harsh debut for Rasikh, 0/42 in 4 overs!
19.1 : J Bumrah to R Tewatia, Digs a yorker length ball down towards third man for a run.
19.2 : J Bumrah to R Pant, SIX! This is like playing video game. Heaving every delivery coming your way. Bumrah is bowling from 'round the wicket and the angle is assisting Pant here. He muscles it over square leg and fetches one more maximum. 200 up for Delhi!
19.3 : J Bumrah to R Pant, Tries to be cheeky. Gets a good length ball on middle, Pant tries to heave it with a reverse bat but fails to connect. It hits him on the pads and strangely they cross for a leg bye.
19.4 : J Bumrah to R Tewatia, SIX! Tewatia joining the fun! He has dismissed the best bowler in the world currently with utter disdain. Just fetches a length ball from outside off and pummels it over mid-wicket.
19.5 : J Bumrah to R Tewatia, The batsman has done well to keep that yorker at bay. One run added to the total.
19.6 : J Bumrah to R Pant, Bumrah has hurt himself here! Worrying signs! Not looking too good. Full and on middle, Pant drives it straight back and Bumrah tries to stop it in his followthrough. He seems to have hurt his shoulder in the process and goes down in pain. The physio is talking with Bumrah on his way back to the pavilion. Hopefully, he's fine. Delhi end on 213/6!
17, 18, 12, 15, 21 and 16 - the carnage in the last 6 overs - 99/3 - Uffff! What an exhibition of batting by Rishabh Pant. He was 1 off 5 when the 14th over ended. Has smashed 77 from the remaining 22 since then. Wow.
The innings can be split into three parts - the first part which belonged to Mumbai, removing two wickets quickly. The second, which belonged to the resurgence in the form of Shikhar Dhawan and Colin Ingram. And finally the third, which was owned simply by Rishabh Pant. Dhawan bided his time, trying to stem the flow of wickets, Ingram started the counter-attack but the final punch, was delivered by Mr. Pant.
15(4) vs Cutting. 9(3) vs McClenaghan. 17(8) vs Hardik. 18(7) vs Bumrah. And 19(5) of debutant Salam - Pant vs all bowlers tonight. He was severe on everyone, not showing any partiality and even Bumrah did not get any favours!
McClenaghan picked up 3 wickets while the rest struggled towards the end. If you look at the scorecard now, you will feel that everyone bowled badly for Mumbai. But at 114/3 in 14 overs, who would have thought Delhi will cross 200? Colin Ingram has something to say about that. Here he is, with Kevin Pietersen...
Colin Ingram praises Rishabh Pant and feels he is a heck of a talent and belted the bowlers to all parts of the park. Adds that even watching him bat in the nets is awesome. On his own performance, Ingram replies that he never used to love this format but he has worked on his game and feels it's a challenge to bat at any position. Credits the partnership between Pant and Tewatia which took them past the 200-run mark.
There is nothing in the pitch for the bowlers. It's a batting beauty and stroke making is quite easy with the ball coming onto the bat nicely. Mumbai also have plenty of firepower in their batting and cannot be written off so easily. It's going to be a riveting chase. Do join us in a short while.
0.0 : The chase is underway! Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock are the Mumbai openers. Delhi are beginning with the pace of Trent Boult. All set, here we go...

0.3 : T Boult to R Sharma, Beaten all ends up! Boult angles across a length delivery outside off, Rohit tries playing straight but it beats the outside edge.
0.4 : T Boult to R Sharma, Much better! The batsman lets the ball go outside his off stump.
0.5 : T Boult to R Sharma, Misfield from Rabada! A pitched up ball on off, Rohit pushed it with good timing towards mid off where Kagiso dived but encountered some bad bounce. The ball went down to long off and they took a couple of runs.
0.6 : T Boult to R Sharma, Superb stop by Axar but then he concedes an overthrow. Sharma plays a fine square drive and Axar at backward point dives across to his left to make a stop. He has an unnecessary shy at the striker's end and a run is taken.
Ishant Sharma to steam in from the other end.
1.1 : I Sharma to R Sharma, Played to the mid-wicket region by the batsman.
1.2 : I Sharma to R Sharma, Edgy! Angling into the batsman, on a length, Sharma tries flicking but it takes the inside edge and flies wide of mid-wicket. A single is taken.

1.5 : I Sharma to R Sharma, FOUR! First boundary and it has come off the outside edge. Ishant lands it on a length around off, Sharma tries to play a cover drive but it takes a thick outside edge and screams away to the third man fence.
1.6 : I Sharma to R Sharma, Gets on the front foot and pushes it to point. A good start from Delhi, this.
2.1 : T Boult to de Kock, Full and angling in on middle and leg, de Kock flicks it with great timing but there is a deep square leg fielder in place. Only one run.
2.2 : T Boult to R Sharma, Good length ball on middle, Sharma clips it in front of square leg for a single.

A 37-run win for Delhi to get their tournament running. Who would have thought? Probably a few statisticians. The last time Mumbai won their opening match in the Indian T20 League was way back in 2012.
With the seeds being sown in the first innings itself, thanks to Rishabh Pant's blitzkrieg, Mumbai needed a terrific start, which they did not get. The openers did threaten a little but 33/0 became 45/3 in next to no time. The middle order then tried to rally around Yuvraj Singh but it was too much to be done. Eventually, Yuvraj was the only one who crossed the 50-mark when ideally, he should have had a couple of more mates doing that.
Wet ball, dew around, problems if you are a bowler. But Delhi had the cushion of 213 runs behind them and Ishant's tidy start kept the pressure on Mumbai. Then Kagiso Rabada maintained that and the home side could never get going consistently for a long period of time. Rahul Tewatia was in the record books, not for his bowling but for his fielding - 4 catches he took in the game, becoming just the 4TH FIELDER to achieve this feat - after Sachin Tendulkar, David Warner and Jacques Kallis. Please
Mumbai skipper, Rohit Sharma says that the first game is always challenging for a team and admits that they made a lot of mistakes today. Adds that they were in the game in the first 10 overs when they were bowling and credits Rishabh Pant for the way he batted. Feels that they didn't hit the right length but is positive that they will learn and bounce back. Mentions that they had a nice combination but it could change according to the conditions. On the pitch, Rohit replies that it was good for
Ishant Sharma also gives an interview. He admits that he was very nervous after watching Pant bat as the ball was flying to all parts. He is happy with his bowling performance. Holding nerves and executing plans are the key, adds Ishant. States that they are gelling well together as a team. Considers this win as really important as they have a new team and coaching staff and it's a big boost to them.
Victorious Delhi skipper, Shreyas Iyer is all smiles and says that they have got a good start. Adds that he was well-prepared for the captaincy role as he has been doing that for the India A team. On Delhi leading the H2H now, Iyer says that they prepared well and ticked in all the boxes. He is satisfied with the overall effort and atmosphere and wants to put in a consistent show. On Rishabh Pant, Iyer terms him as a destructive batsman and also adds that he has matured a lot over the years. On
Man of the Match, Rishabh Pant says that it's been a great journey and he is learning with every passing time. Adds that his plan is to play as per the situation. Mentions that he took his chances and got away with a few. Also states that in T20 you have to do something different and that's what he tries to do. He is happy to bat at any position and it doesn't matter much if they are winning.
That's all from Super Sunday. Andre Russell's whirlwind knock earned Kolkata a win from the jaws of defeat while Rishabh Pant's scintillating innings outclassed Mumbai in their own den. The first Monday of this year's Indian T20 League will see Rajasthan locking horns against Punjab at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. The action begins at 2000 IST (1430 GMT). Do join us then. Cheers!

Please

Holding nerves and executing plans are the key, adds Ishant. States that they are gelling well together as a team.
Cheers!
