Match over
0.1 : 0.1: Anrich Nortje to Rohit Sharma, FOUR! Pure timing! A bit of a gift from Anrich Nortje. It's a leg-stump half-volley, Sharma picks it up off his pads and flicks it with great timing to the deep mid-wicket fence.
1.5 : 1.5: Avesh Khan to Rohit Sharma, OUT! Rohit holes out! Here is the first breakthrough and Avesh Khan continues to pick wickets this season. Serves a shortish delivery outside off, at 131.7 kph, there is some extra bounce again as Rohit winds up for a big shot across the line. It takes the top edge and flies behind backward point. Kagiso Rabada moves across to his right from third man and takes the skier safely. Plenty of dot balls and it frustrated the batsman. Good bowling.
1.6 : 1.6: Avesh Khan to Quinton de Kock, FOUR! Wow! Lovely timing on this shot. On a length and around middle at 131 clicks, de Kock sticks on the back foot and flicks it with beautiful timing to the deep mid-wicket fence. A boundary to end the over but still it was a great one by Avesh.
2.4 : 2.4: Ravichandran Ashwin to Suryakumar Yadav, SIX! Handsome stroke! Loopy and full, around off, Suryakumar Yadav goes down and across as he smashes it all the way over square leg for a maximum, first of the game.
4.1 : 4.1: Kagiso Rabada to Quinton de Kock, SIX! Quinton de Kock shows no mercy on his South African teammate. Fuller in length and outside off, at 138.2 kph, de Kock shuffles across the stumps and uses the pace of the bowler to scoop it over fine leg.
6.2 : 6.2: Axar Patel to Quinton de Kock, OUT! CAUGHT! Axar Patel gets rid of Quinton de Kock. De Kock cannot believe what he has done here and Mumbai lose their second wicket. De Kock once again gets a start and gets out. Loopy ball outside off, de Kock looks to go over the off side but gets a thick outside edge to backward point. Anrich Nortje takes a simple catch there and Axar is happy.
7.2: Ravichandran Ashwin to Suryakumar Yadav, FOUR! Suryakumar Yadav is looking in good form today! Tossed up on off, Yadav goes on his knees and then slog-sweeps it to wide long on. It seems like that it has bounced in front of the ropes and the replays confirm that it has. A boundary.
7.5 : 7.5: Ravichandran Ashwin to Suryakumar Yadav, FOUR! This is really nicely played! Full around off, Yadav goes on his knees and again and then sweeps it to backward square leg for a boundary.
9.5: Kagiso Rabada to Suryakumar Yadav, SIX! Cracking shot! Rabada dishes out a full toss on middle, Yadav powers it over deep mid-wicket for a biggie.
10.3 : 10.3: Axar Patel to Suryakumar Yadav, OUT! CAUGHT! Axar Patel is having a great run and is continuing. This is a pretty soft dismissal though for Suryakumar Yadav and he will be disappointed with the execution of this shot. Axar dishes out a full toss on middle, Yadav looks to go over long on but gets it off the toe end of the bat. Kagiso Rabada comes running in from long on and takes a good catch. This was a delivery that should have been put away but Yadav gifts his wicket away instead.
10.5 : 10.5: Axar Patel to Saurabh Tiwary, FOUR! Very good shot from Tiwary! Looped up ball on middle, Tiwary hits it straight down the ground for a boundary, one bounce into the fence.
12.5: Axar Patel to Saurabh Tiwary, OUT! Axar Patel strikes again! Loose shot from Saurabh Tiwary! Mumbai needed to consolidate and they have lost another wicket at the wrong time. Patel bowls a floated ball outside off, skidding further away, Tiwary looks to swipe it across the line but it takes the top edge and goes to the side of the pitch on the off side. Rishabh Pant calls for it and takes it comfortably. Mumbai are in a slight spot of bother here.
14.1 : 14.1: Anrich Nortje to Kieron Pollard, OUT! DRAGGED ON! What a great start to Nortje's second spell as they get the big, big wicket of Pollard! The big West Indian has bailed Mumbai out of trouble on so many occasions but he will not be able to do the same in this clash. Anrich Nortje starts with a slower length delivery, outside off, it does not rise too much as Pollard looks to push this to the off side. The ball takes the inside edge and goes onto clip the leg pole. Half the Mumbai side is b
16.4 : 16.4: Kagiso Rabada to Krunal Pandya, FOUR! A boundary finally for Mumbai - their first after the 11th over! An off-cutter, at 124 clicks. A back-of-a-length delivery, around middle, Krunal Pandya pulls this one to the deep square leg boundary.
17.1 : 17.1: Anrich Nortje to Hardik Pandya, FOUR! Nortje starts with a slower ball this time but Hardik Pandya had anticipated that well. Fuller in length, around off, HP waits for it and then tonks it over the bowler for a boundary.
17.3 : 17.3: Anrich Nortje to Hardik Pandya, FOUR! The second boundary of the over. It looks like Hardik has decided to take on Nortje here. Shorter this time, around off, Hardik Pandya powers this one towards the deep square leg region. Shreyas Iyer runs to his right, slides, but fails to stop the ball from touching the ropes.
18.1 : 18.1: Avesh Khan to Hardik Pandya, OUT! TIMBER! OHHHHH! What a cracking delivery and Khan gets rid of the dangerous man. There was nothing that Hardik Pandya could do about that. Khan runs in and spears a laser-guided yorker, around middle and leg, at 141.3 clicks. Hardik Pandya looks to whip it but he misses. He hears the death rattle behind him. Khan gets his second of the game and starts his last over very well!
18.4 : 18.4: Avesh Khan to Nathan Coulter-Nile, OUT! BOWLED 'EM! Another one for him. This man is on fire and he continues to impress. It is such a crucial juncture in the game but nothing can unnerve Khan. His third wicket. A pacy delivery this time, around off, on a length at 140 kph, Nathan Coulter-Nile looks to whack this across the line but fails to connect. The ball crashes into the off pole. Delhi are closing things out well.
18.5 : 18.5: Avesh Khan to Jayant Yadav, FOUR! Against the run of play, Mumbai get a boundary! Around off, in the slot, on a length, Jayant Yadav smacks this one over the bowler for a one-bounce boundary.
19.1 : 19.1: Ravichandran Ashwin to Jayant Yadav, SIX! What a way to start the over! Mumbai needed this! Tossed up, fuller, around middle and off, Jayant Yadav gets low and smokes this one high and handsome over the long on fence.
19.2 : 19.2: Ravichandran Ashwin to Jayant Yadav, OUT! TAKEN! Easily done and Yadav's short burst has come to an end. He has done what was needed from him though. This one was fuller, but wider outside off, Jayant Yadav looks to lift this one over extra cover but mistimes it. Steven Smith, who was present there inside the ring, times his jump to perfection and gobbles this one up.
19.6 : 19.6: Ravichandran Ashwin to Krunal Pandya, SIX! Krunal Pandya connects with one! Slower through the air again, fuller, around off, Krunal Pandya latches onto it and bangs this one behind the bowler for a biggie. MUMBAI END ON 129/8!
0.6 : 0.6: Trent Boult to Prithvi Shaw, FOUR! Cracking shot! A touch fuller and outside off, angling away, Prithvi Shaw drives it through the line and places it wide of the cover fielder. The ball races away to the fence in no time. A decent start for Delhi.
1.3 : 1.3: Jayant Yadav to Shikhar Dhawan, SIX! Wow, glorious! Shot of a high-class player. Loopy delivery, full and outside off, Dhawan leans forward to reach the pitch of the ball, maintains his shape and lofts it nonchalantly over extra cover for a biggie.
1.6 : 1.6: Jayant Yadav to Shikhar Dhawan, OUT! Dhawan is run out! Big wicket for Mumbai and Kieron Pollard has done the magic with his direct hit. A touch flatter and shorter around off, Dhawan walks down the track and bunts it down towards mid on. He decides to take on Pollard manning that region and scampers across to the other end. The West Indian attacks the ball and knocks the stumps down in a flash to catch Dhawan short. It's referred upstairs and the replays confirm the same. 116 needed off 10
2.4 : 2.4: Krunal Pandya to Prithvi Shaw, OUT! Three reds on the Ball Tracker and Delhi have now lost both their openers. Krunal Pandya does the magic now. Nothing special with the delivery though. It's served flat and a touch short on middle, skidding on with the angle after landing. Prithvi Shaw hangs on the back foot as he tries to heave it across the line. He misses and is hit on the pads. The appeal is made but the finger stays down. Rohit Sharma gets convinced by his bowler and takes the DRS.
2.6 : 2.6: Krunal Pandya to Rishabh Pant, SIX! Smashed away! Gosh, that's some way to open your account. Floated and full around off, landing right in the slot for the batter, Rishabh Pant goes down on one knee and smokes it over mid-wicket for a maximum.
3.4 : 3.4: Jasprit Bumrah to Steven Smith, SIX! That has gone all the way. Towards the shorter part of the ground and Smith has scaled the distance. Shortish and around off, Smith stays back, waits for it and just guides it via a pull shot. It flies and clears deep square leg. Didn't try to hit it hard and that's the key.
4.1 : 4.1: Nathan Coulter-Nile to Steven Smith, OUT! BOWLED 'EM! NCN does the trick with a slower one. So many bowlers have tried to do this to Steven Smith in international cricket but most have failed. His countryman has not failed though. Nathan Coulter-Nile lands it on a length around middle at 125 clicks, Smith shuffles across the stumps in his trademark style but plays all over it. Makes no connection and the ball goes on to connect with the stumps. Three down inside the Powerplay and it's game
4.4 : 4.4: Nathan Coulter-Nile to Rishabh Pant, FOUR! Edgy! Pace up from Nathan Coulter-Nile. Clocks 137.4 kph and serves it on a length around off, Pant stands back to smash it across the line. But it takes the inner edge, beats the stumps and races away to the fine leg fence. NCN has his hands on his head.
5.4: Jasprit Bumrah to Rishabh Pant, FOUR! This time Krunal Pandya cannot get there. Short in length, around off, Pant waits for the ball to bounce and then hammers it to deep mid-wicket for a boundary. Delayed his shot slightly to get the placement right.
5.6 : 5.6: Jasprit Bumrah to Rishabh Pant, FOUR! Shot! Bumrah overpitches around off at 142.3 kph, Pant shows the full face of the bat and clobbers it down the ground for a powerful boundary. At the end of the Powerplay, Delhi are 46/3, needing 84 off 84 balls.
8.2 : 8.2: Jayant Yadav to Rishabh Pant, OUT! TAKEN! This is the big wicket that Mumbai wanted. Pant was trying to be funky, trying to get boundaries in every over but that attacking intent from him proves to be his undoing. Delhi lose their fourth wicket and Mumbai are making their presence felt in this game. This one is tossed up, around middle and leg, Rishabh Pant moves to the leg side, gets low and slogs this one towards the long on region. Fails to clear Hardik Pandya in the deep who pouches t
10.6 : 10.6: Kieron Pollard to Axar Patel, FOUR! On the last ball of the over, Axar decides to attack and attacks well as he gets a boundary. Slightly fuller, around off, Axar Patel skips down and tonks this one over mid off. Hardik Pandya gives it the chase but the ball goes past the ropes. 9 off the over. 56 more needed in 54 balls.
11.4 : 11.4: Trent Boult to Axar Patel, OUT! LBW! The bowling change does the trick and Boult strikes. The review does not save Axar too. Short of a length this time, around off and middle, Patel looks to work this to the leg side but he misses and gets thudded on his thigh pad. An appeal and the umpire raises his finger. Patel looks at his partner and then goes for the review. UltraEdge shows that there was no bat involved in this. Ball Tracker shows that it's the umpire's call on hitting the stumps
12.1 : 12.1: Jayant Yadav to Shimron Hetmyer, FOUR! Well played by Shimron. He gets his first boundary. Fuller, tossed up, outside off, Shimron Hetmyer plays the inside-out shot over covers and bags a boundary.
12.5 : 12.5: Jayant Yadav to Shimron Hetmyer, FOUR! BANG! Shimron Hetmyer is making his intentions clear here! Around off, a touch short, Shimron Hetmyer camps back and powers this one over the mid-wicket fielder and bags a boundary. The man there leapt to his right but failed to pouch this.
13.1 : 13.1: Jasprit Bumrah to Shimron Hetmyer, OUT! CAUGHT! Shimron Hetmyer falls and Mumbai are back in this game! Bumrah strikes immediately after the break. Bumrah dishes out a slower ball on middle and leg, Hetmyer looks to flick it but gets a leading edge and it lobs towards cover where Rohit Sharma takes the simplest of catches. 37 needed in 41 balls now.
16.3 : 16.3: Nathan Coulter-Nile to Shreyas Iyer, FOUR! That's a freebie from Nathan Coulter-Nile! Shortish ball on off, Iyer pulls it to deep mid-wicket for a boundary. 20 needed in 21 balls.
17.6 : 17.6: Jasprit Bumrah to Shreyas Iyer, FOUR! Is that the game for Delhi? Full on off, Iyer shuffles across and then heaves it to deep mid-wicket for a boundary. 11 needed in 2 overs now.
19.1 : 19.1: Krunal Pandya to Ravichandran Ashwin, SIX! WOW! What a way to win the game for your side. Ashwin does not want to waste time taking singles, he just smacks one out of the park and wins the game. Fuller, tossed up, around middle and off, Ravichandran Ashwin gets low, mows a cracking slog-sweep and thwacks it flat and over deep mid-wicket for a biggie. DELHI WIN BY 4 WICKETS!Â
