0.0 : Hello and welcome to Match No. 9 of the ICC Champions Trophy between New Zealand and Bangladesh in Cardiff. After a delay of an hour due to the wet outfield we are all set to get underway. The groundsmen have done a very good job in getting the ground ready for the game.
This is the last game of the group stage for both the sides and a knockout as well. The Bangla Tigers were lucky to steal a point against Australia as the match got abandoned. They were poor in the last game against the Aussies. Tamim Iqbal has been the only one to show great form with the bat and the side from the subcontinent would hope he delivers again in this crunch contest. Mashrafe Mortaza will want the rest of his boys to step up too.
New Zealand, on the other hand, have been overdependent on their skipper Kane Williamson. The Black Caps will want their middle order to fire in this all-important game. The Kiwis are favourites but it all depends on who performs better on the day. They were beaten by the Asian side in their last encounter in Dublin and will be aware of the threat that the Asian team possesses. Can Bangladesh again spring a surprise today? TOSS - New Zealand win the toss and opt to bat.
New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson says, they will opt to bat. Feels that it's a pretty good surface and quite dry underneath. Hopes to post a good score on the board. Says they are playing an unchanged team and on the question of any consideration for changing the middle order, he replies that all his batsmen are exciting players and he is backing them all the way. Admits it's a tough game today and they will have to play well.
Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Mortaza says that he would have bowled anyway. Informs that Taskin Ahmed and Mosaddek Hossain come in for Imrul Kayes and Mehedi Hasan. Adds that they need to improve their fast bowling attack and since the pitch was under the cover, he is expecting some early movement. Also wants other batsmen to step up and support Tamim Iqbal who has been in stupendous form. Feels that they did beat New Zealand recently but today is a different ball game and they will have to play

Outstanding death bowling by Bangladesh! The introduction of Mosaddek Hossain at the back end of the innings did wonders as he claimed three wickets and didn't allow the Kiwis to step on the gas. The downfall for New Zealand however began when Taskin Ahmed removed Ross Taylor in the 39th over. They slipped from a great position and managed only 64 runs in the last 11.2 overs.
Earlier in the day, after electing to bat, New Zealand got off to a decent start. Almost all their batsmen got starts but none went on to score big. It eventually cost them towards the end, as a set batsman at the death would have helped their cause. Let's give credit to Bangladesh for the way they bowled. They never allowed the Kiwis to run away with the game, even when the wickets were not falling. Their persistence paid off and they will be immensely pleased with the overall effort in the fie
Bangladesh will be high on confidence at the moment and will look to carry the same into their batting. The target is very much achievable but they will need their batsmen to sensibly pace the chase.
