0.0 : ... MATCH DAY ...
Battle of survival! This is how it's going to be for Rajasthan this evening as they lock horns against Bangalore. Hello and welcome to everyone for the coverage of Match 43 of this season's Indian T20 League from Dubai. The race to the playoffs has reached its final stage and with the top two spots almost sealed, time is running out for Rajasthan. With Kolkata and Mumbai winning their respective games on Tuesday, the pressure is on Rajasthan to win this game otherwise they will fall behind in t
The head-to-head stats suggest that it's been always a close contest between Rajasthan and Bangalore. Nothing much to choose from in a scoreline of 11-10 but in the last three encounters,  Bangalore have registered emphatic wins. With Bangalore rediscovering their form and ending the UAE jinx in the last game, they can be counted as favourites.
Last meeting - It was a thorough thrashing for Rajasthan by 10 wickets when they last met Bangalore. Despite a decent batting effort to post 177 on the board, they were taken down mercilessly by Devdutt Padikkal's fabulous century and his unbeatable opening stand with Virat Kohli. What's in store this time around?
The spin-bowling woes! We all know that the spinners have been an integral part of every team in this format and have made a big difference. But for Rajasthan, the performance of their spinners has been abysmal. They have a poor average of 79.83 this season and have picked just 6 wickets. This is by far the worst show by the Rajasthan spinners across years and that's hurting them. To compound their misery, the Rajasthan bowlers in total have managed to pick only 5 wickets against Bangalore since
Toss - Virat Kohli and Sanju Samson exchange pleasantries in the middle. Up goes the coin, Kohli calls Heads and it has come down as Heads. BANGALORE ELECT TO BOWL FIRST!
Virat Kohli, the Bangalore skipper, says that the pitch remained the same in the last game. Tells that he wants to provide his bowlers with good conditions upfront. Further says that he asked the boys to be brave and that was shown both with the bat and ball in the last game. Wants to take that momentum from the last bowling innings to this bowling innings. On his personal form, Kohli replies that he is feeling confident about his batting and is in a good space. He is looking forward to contri
Sanju Samson, the captain of Rajasthan, says that they were ready to do both. Feels that the pitch is looking good and a lot of teams have batted first and won. Adds that as a team they were a bit down and had a meeting last evening where they revisited the purpose of playing this game. Shares that they want to put on a good show for the fans. Regarding their XI, Sanju informs that Kartik Tyagi comes back in, replacing Jaydev Unadkat.
Rajasthan (Playing XI) - Evin Lewis, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson (C/WK), Liam Livingstone, Mahipal Lomror, Riyan Parag, Rahul Tewatia, Chris Morris, Kartik Tyagi (In place of Jaydev Unadkat), Chetan Sakariya, Mustafizur Rahman.
Pitch report - Anjum Chopra is near the surface and says that the pitch is looking a lot different and it is a hot evening in Dubai. Mentions that for a left-hander, the off side boundary is on the shorter side. Matthew Hayden is also there and informs that it is a new pitch and terms it a high-quality wicket with a lot of grass on it. Adds that the deck is very hard and it's a good sign. The Aussie feels that this pitch will hold up quite nicely and will be pretty good for batting.
Bangalore (Playing XI) - Virat Kohli (C), Devdutt Padikkal, Srikar Bharat (WK), Glenn Maxwell, AB de Villiers, Dan Christian, Shahbaz Ahmed, Harshal Patel, George Garton (On debut) (In place of Kyle Jamieson), Mohammed Siraj, Yuzvendra Chahal.
We are set to begin! Both the umpires walk out to the middle. The Bangalore players stride out as well after a little pep talk from their captain, Virat Kohli. 0.0 : Strategic Time-Out! What a Powerplay for Rajasthan it has been! Evin Lewis is looking to take on each and every bowler while Yashasvi Jaiswal is supporting him well from the other end. 8.2 : Dan Christian to Yashasvi Jaiswal, OUT! TAKEN! Dan Christian has the last laugh! He provides Bangalore with the much-needed breakthrough. Yet another slower ball around off, at 123 kph. The idea was correct from Yashasvi Jaiswal to clear the infield but he doesn't execute it well. He lifts it straight towards mid off where Mohammed Siraj completes the catch over his head. A good knock nonetheless from Yashasvi Jaiswal.
Sanju Samson, the skipper, walks out at number three.

0.0 : The new man in is Rahul Tewatia.
Strategic Time-Out! A couple of wickets have brought Bangalore back in the game. They have gotten rid of Evin Lewis who was looking very dangerous and Yuzvendra Chahal got the better of Mahipal Lomror. Rajasthan would still not worry as Sanju Samson is out there and Liam Livingstone has joined him in the middle. Two runs.
Is that a run out? The umpire takes it upstairs to confirm. The replays roll in to confirm that Chetan Sakariya had his bat grounded inside the crease. He is safe.
19.6 : What a great fall for Rajasthan! They were roaring at one stage and had reached 100/1 at the end of 11 overs but from thereon, their innings nosedived completely. Plenty of reckless shots and they have themselves to blame for this situation.
Harshal Patel to Chetan Sakariya, OUT! Wicket number 3 in the match for Harshal Patel. Bangalore have finished very strongly here. Back of a length, outside off, Chetan Sakariya tries to pull but it takes the toe end of the bat and flies towards long on. Yet again a simple catch for AB de Villiers in the deep. Rajasthan end on 149/9!
As mentioned earlier, Rajasthan were off to a blistering start, all thanks to their opening pair. But once they were sent back, no other batter rose to the occasion, and they lost their grip over the advantage. Evin Lewis flexed his muscles this evening and his stand with Yashasvi Jaiswal was the only substantial one that Rajasthan managed. Credit to Bangalore for pulling things back. Yuzvendra Chahal was brilliant with his spell along with Shahbaz Ahmed while Harshal Patel was once again
Right then, the Bangalore bowlers did their job really well to restrict Rajasthan to 149 and now it is time for their batters to chase this target down and grab a vital couple of points from this game. Can they do it? Or will Rajasthan put up a good fight to keep their hopes alive? To find out, do join us for the chase on the other side.
... The Run Chase ...
Shahbaz Ahmed is up for a quick chat. Says that the pitch is looking good and they were expecting a high-scoring game. Mentions that the ball is not turning much and they have done well to restrict Rajasthan under 150. Informs that the ball is coming onto the bat nicely. Tells that they have to be prepared every time whether it is batting, bowling or fielding.

Yet another convincing victory for Bangalore! A neat and clean chase from them and they have grabbed two crucial points. They stay third at the moment but would be feeling a lot better now after a bumpy start to the second leg. Bangalore have now opened up a 4-point gap with both Kolkata and Mumbai on the table and have got some breathing space.
This win for Bangalore was set up by their bowlers. The way they pulled things back and clipped the wings of the high-flying Rajasthan was exceptional. Their bowling after the 11th over mark brought down Rajasthan and restricted them to just 149 on a good batting pitch. The chase started in an extraordinary manner too with both Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal forming a handy stand. They stuttered slightly after losing Padikkal as Kohli was also sent packing soon after that by a direct throw f
