The ball is lost and the umpires decide to call for the drinks! Excellent start for Bangalore so far! They have kept Rajasthan under the pump. Their top 3 are already sitting out in the pavilion with the score reading just 57. Robin Uthappa, the experienced campaigner, is out in the middle and has a massive job to do. Chahal tosses this full and just outside off, Uthappa looks to clear the long off fence but doesn't time it well. One of the reason for that is that the ball spun away. 0.0 : DRINKS! It is now time for Rajasthan to step on the gas! They need something around the 150-run mark and they have to score at 10 runs per over if they are to get there. Can they do so? We will find out. Bangalore on the other hand, will want to continue to do what they have been doing so far and that is keep taking wickets at regular intervals. Yuzvendra Chahal is back on. |
14.6 : Yuzvendra Chahal to Mahipal Lomror, Jumps down the track again and drills it through mid on. Only a run as the fielder at long on does really well. A top over for Rajasthan though. 10 off it. |
Isuru Udana is back on. |
15.1 : Isuru Udana to Mahipal Lomror, Full toss outside off, it is bowled so that Lomror hits towards the longer part. He hits it through covers for one. 100 up for Rajasthan. |

16.3 : Yuzvendra Chahal to Rahul Tewatia, Tewatia is off the mark! He works this with the turn through square leg for one. |
16.4 : Yuzvendra Chahal to Mahipal Lomror, OUT! Lomror holes out! Chahal has the last laugh. End of a very good innings from Lomror in his first outing in this year's edition. Also now Bangalore have two new batters out there at a time when Rajasthan will look to launch. Not easy to come out all guns blazing on this wicket. Chahal tosses this up nicely and outside off. Lomror has to reach out for it. He does so and looks to loft it over long off but ends up slicing it towards the fielder there. P |
Jofra Archer is in now! Interesting from Rajasthan camp. He has been sent ahead of Tom Curran. |
16.5 : Yuzvendra Chahal to Jofra Archer, Archer is off the mark as he slaps it through covers for one. |

17.1 : Navdeep Saini to Rahul Tewatia, SIX! Whipped! Just a flick of the first and it goes all the way. Very stylish. On the pads, Tewatia flicks it, it is with the wind and goes over the square leg fence. He loves hitting sixes and this is Rajasthan's 50th six of this edition. Also, good way to start the over. |
17.2 : Navdeep Saini to Rahul Tewatia, Shorter and around middle, it is pulled through square leg for one. |
0.0 : Navdeep Saini is back on. 2-1-9-1 are his figures so far. |

18.1 : Isuru Udana to Rahul Tewatia, A slower one on off, it is hit down to long off for one. |
18.2 : Isuru Udana to Jofra Archer, A wide outside off, yorker. Archer swings but misses. It is just inside the tramline. Nicely bowled. |
18.3 : Isuru Udana to Jofra Archer, SIX! Smashed! The slower one but it is way too short. It sits up to be hit. Archer waits for it and then smashes it over the mid-wicket fence for a biggie. |
18.4 : Isuru Udana to Jofra Archer, Two now! A wide yorker outside off. Archer carves it out towards deep cover. It is away from the fielder and two is taken. |
18.5 : Isuru Udana to Jofra Archer, What just happened there? Comedy of errors! Bangalore should have had a wicket. It is a yorker on the pads, Udana looks to flick but misses. It is beside Archer. Tewatia wants a run and sets off. Archer is not interested. Tewatia almost runs the whole way but then has to get back. Udana gets to the ball and then tries to pick it up but fails to do so. He finally does pick it up and then tries to lob it towards Kohli who runs in from covers but it is wide of him |
18.6 : Isuru Udana to Jofra Archer, A single to end as this is hit down to long on! |
19.1 : Navdeep Saini to Jofra Archer, Single to begin the final over. Low full toss on middle, Archer swings hard but mistimes it towars mid off. A single taken. 10 runs from this over. |
19.2 : Navdeep Saini to Rahul Tewatia, NO BALL! Ouch! That's nasty! Tewatia is down in pain. Not good signs. A high full toss outside off, Tewatia moves towards the off side and tries to scoop but gets hit on the chest. Saini quickly goes towards the batsman and asks if he is fine. Free Hit time! |
That does not look very good! Tewatia looks lost and rightly so. He might have been so surprised by that. The physio rushes out to have a look. He is now fine though and all good to continue. |
Navdeep Saini to Rahul Tewatia, SIX! WOW! Tewatia makes the full use of the Free Hit! A good length ball around off, it is in the hitting zone of Tewatia. He stays deep inside the crease and powers it way over deep square leg for a biggie. These are vital runs for Rajasthan. |
19.3 : Navdeep Saini to Rahul Tewatia, SIX! Smart from Tewatia. Not too smart from Saini. Goes for a yorker but ends up bowling a full toss outside off, Tewatia moves towards the off side and just flicks it over deep square leg for another six. Gurkeerat did well to try and catch but this was beyond his reach. Good effort from him. 150 up for Rajasthan. |

19.5 : Navdeep Saini to Rahul Tewatia, A single now! Shortish and on middle, Tewatia pulls it towards deep square leg and gets to the other end. |
19.6 : Navdeep Saini to Jofra Archer, Ouch! A dot to end the over! Full and just outside off, Archer moves towards that side and looks to scoop over the keeper's head but misses to get hit on the body. It is a dot but still they get 15 from the over. Rajasthan end with 154/6. |
Rajasthan have taken themselves to a very competitive total! They would have taken above 150 with both arms open when they were reeling at something around 30 for 3. Especially with their star-studded three were dismissed. Lomror though who was playing his first game along with Uthappa then steadied the ship. The latter though fell but Lomror continued. He then upped the ante when it was needed but fell at the wrong time. At that moment, it seemed Bangalore would keep them under 150 but Tewataia |
The Bangalore bowling was good for the majority of the innings! They did take a pounding initially but they came back strongly by taking wickets at regular intervals. Chahal was once again the pick. Udana was expensive but he did take a couple of wickets. Sundar was economical but Saini and Zampa did not have a good day at the office. Overall though Kohli will be a little disappointed with Rajasthan ending at 160 but one will probably say the bowlers have done their job. |
Now then, the target is a good one and Bangalore will have to bat nicely! The wicket is on the slower side and if they lose early wickets, it would be an uphil task. Rajasthan on the other hand, need wickets quickly. They need their bowlers to step up. Will they? We will find out in the second essay. |
Before the run chase begins Yuvzendra Chahal is caught for a quick chat. He gets the Purple Cap for now! Starts by saying that it is really humid out in the middle. Says that when he returned for the third over, he realized the wicket was getting slow. On him catching on his bowling, Chahal says that he is really working hard. Tells that he has dropped a few catches on his bowling in international cricket so he is happy that he took the catch. Adds that he is not trying to win the Purple Cap but |
