... MATCH DAY ...
We had two teams fighting for the 4th spot battling it out on Tuesday and today we see a team which has been knocked out and another which has already qualified, lock horns. A dead rubber? SURELY NOT! There’s never a dead rubber in the Indian T20 League. On that note, Welcome to the coverage of match number 52.
Bangalore have a lot to play for here! They sit on 16 points, third in the table and two points below the side at number 2 and everyone knows how beneficial it is to finish amongst the top two. They are on a roll and one wouldn’t bet against them to beat a struggling Hyderabad side.
It is all about pride for Hyderabad. They have had a forgetful season but they would love to end it on a high. Two games to go for them and they would love two wins. For that though, they will have to up their performance. Can they deliver?
Virat Kohli, the skipper of Bangalore, says that the pitch is a good one to bat on and chasing is ideal here. Adds that the first game in UAE was a big shock and that was needed to wake them up. Says that they have gotten in the groove at the right stage. Informs that making it to the top 2 is something that they are looking for. Finishes by saying that they are playing the same side.
TOSS - Kohli and Williamson are standing near the pitch for the all-important toss. BANGALORE have won the toss and they will bowl first.
Kane Williamson, the skipper of Hyderabad, says that they were looking to bowl first as well but it is an exciting opportunity for the players to come out and express themselves. Adds that the mindset sometimes drifts but there is a lot of enthusiasm and they are looking forward to this game. Ends by informing there are no changes.

8.5 : Shahbaz Ahmed to Kane Williamson, Quick and a good run! On off, Williamson pushes it towards cover. A quick single. Kohli does get to the ball quickly but a direct hit was needed and he missed the stumps at the keeper's end.
8.6 : Strategic Time-Out! A good passage of play for Hyderabad, despite losing Abhishek Sharma early on, both Williamson and Roy have kept the scoreboard ticking. They would look to up the ante now as they have wickets in the bank. For Bangalore, wickets are key and they would look to break this partnership as soon as possible.

Jason Roy hangs back and smashes it straight towards the bowler. Dan Christian juggles a bit but holds on to it. Wriddhiman Saha is the next batter.
15.1 : Review time! Virat Kohli has taken the review for LBW. There is no bat on it and Ball Tracker shows three reds!
Yuzvendra Chahal to Abdul Samad, OUT! LBW! 3 wickets in seven balls and Hyderabad are in a spot of bother. A tossed up ball, full and around leg, it lands and spins away as well. Samad gets on his knee and looks to slog sweep but misses it completely. He gets hit on the pads. They appeal for LBW but it is not given. Kohli has a word with Chahal before going for the review and Chahal convinces his captain there. Up comes the Ball Tracker and it shows wickets hitting. A successful review f
15.2 : Yuzvendra Chahal to Jason Holder, Full and on leg. Holder tickles it to the fine leg region for a single.
0.0 : Strategic Time-Out! A fantastic show in the middle overs by Bangalore and Hyderabad have lost their way. They had a good start and a good platform but Bangalore have taken regular wickets to make sure that Hyderabad do not have set batters at the crease for long. From here, a score of 140-145 would be Hyderabad's aim. Can Jason Holder take them there?

16.4 : Dan Christian to Wriddhiman Saha, Confusion but safe! On off, Saha drops it to the left of the bowler. He takes a start. Holder takes off but is sent back. Christian gets to the ball and has a shy at the bowler's end but misses.
16.5 : Dan Christian to Wriddhiman Saha, This time he does push it away from the bowler and takes one.
16.6 : Dan Christian to Jason Holder, A slower one, well outside off, Holder slashes but misses.
Harshal Patel is back into the attack.
17.1 : Harshal Patel to Wriddhiman Saha, FOUR! Edgy! A fortunate one but Hyderabad won't mind! A slower one outside off, Saha looks to drive it but is way too early in the shot. It goes off the underedge past short fine leg for a boundary.
17.2 : Harshal Patel to Wriddhiman Saha, OUT! TAKEN! Gets his man this time! Once again the slower one, it is outside off and just behind a fuller length. Saha once again looks to loft it down the ground but is way too early in the shot. He hits it high up in the air towards long off where it is taken by AB de Villiers.
Rashid Khan walks out.
17.3 : Harshal Patel to Jason Holder, A seam-up ball, a yorker on middle, it is jammed down to long on for one.
17.4 : Harshal Patel to Rashid Khan, Slower one now on middle, this is worked through mid-wicket for one.
17.5 : Harshal Patel to Jason Holder, FOUR! Edgy again! Holder won't care though! Another slower one outside off, Holder looks to guide it down to third man, this goes off the underedge and fine on the leg side. Fine leg is in the ring and another boundary.
17.6 : Harshal Patel to Jason Holder, A dot to end! On off, this is pushed to covers.
18.1 : Mohammed Siraj to Rashid Khan, Very full and outside off, Khan looks to whip it but it goes off the inner half back to the bowler.
0.0 : Mohammed Siraj is back on.
18.2 : Mohammed Siraj to Rashid Khan, FOUR! Nicely played! Clever shot! Outside off and shorter, this is carved over point and this one races away to the fence. Not sure if that is the right length, clever shot from Khan.
18.3 : Mohammed Siraj to Rashid Khan, Fuller and on off, this is jammed out to covers for one.
18.4 : Mohammed Siraj to Jason Holder, Outside off, this is pushed through covers for one more.
18.5 : Mohammed Siraj to Rashid Khan, Swing and a miss! Outside off again, Khan looks to hit it over point. Does not connect.
18.6 : Mohammed Siraj to Rashid Khan, Brilliant stuff! Another dot to end and that is a lovely over by Siraj! A yorker outside off, Khan fails to jam it out.
19.1 : Harshal Patel to Jason Holder, Direct hit and Holder was a goner! He had given up! Outside off, this is carved to point. They go for one. The fielder has a shy at the bowler's end but misses. They take another one.

19.3 : Harshal Patel to Jason Holder, Just a single again! A full ball on off, this is hit down to long off. Only one.
19.4 : Harshal Patel to Rashid Khan, NOT OUT! Holder was in by the time Harshal Patel got the stumps out completely. Good work though from him. This is on middle, Khan slams it hard but straight onto the stumps at the other end. Holder is halfway down the track and then looks to get back. Patel picks the ball up, runs towards the stumps at his end and goes to uproot the stumps. It is referred. Replays show that Holder is in.
19.5 : Harshal Patel to Rashid Khan, NO BALL! That did not come out right! A high full toss on the body, Khan ducks under it. It goes over him. Free Hit coming up.
Harshal Patel to Rashid Khan, Just the one from it! A low full toss on middle, it is whipped but to deep mid-wicket for one.
19.6 : Harshal Patel to Jason Holder, OUT! TAKEN! A wicket to end the innings and Harshal Patel yet again takes three. Another slower one. On off, Holder looks to go downtown but ends up hitting it high up in the air towards long on. It is taken by Dan Christian there. HYDERABAD END WITH 141!
A really good show with the ball by Bangalore. At one point, Hyderabad would have fancied their chances to put on a big score but that hasn't happened thanks to some brilliant bowling by Bangalore.
19.3 : A run out appeal taken upstairs. Jason Holder managed to cross the line before Harshal Patel could uproot the stumps.
19.6 : Hyderabad did not have the best of starts as they lost Sharma early. But Williamson and Roy batted well after that and took them to a good platform. It looked like they would end up scoring a big total, but after the wicket of Williamson, there was a collapse of the middle order and they found themselves at 107-5 in the 16th over. Holder and Khan tried their best to finish things on a high but were not able to and they ended up scoring 141.
142 is the target for Bangalore and they would fancy their chances to chase it down. Can Rashid Khan and co defend this? Looks tough but we have seen interesting things happen in this competition. Stay tuned as the chase is coming our way.
It was yet another good show with the ball by Bangalore. It was Garton who took the early wicket and gave them a good start. But in the middle overs, it was Patel, Chahal and Christian who took wickets to rock the batting of Hyderabad. Patel then came back and finished things really well like he has done on so many occasions in this season. Patel took 3 wickets each while Christian took 2 and Garton and Chahal got one. Overall, it was a very good show by them in the field.
Dan Christian is up for a chat, he says that he is still enjoying the game. Says that Hyderabad got a really good start but they did well to restrict them to 141. Talking about his catch, he says that it just stuck in his hand and he is happy with the wicket. Adds that they should chase it down and hopes they get a good start. Adds that it is good out there and there are no signs of dew.
... The Run Chase ...
Jason Roy is giving a speech to his mates in the team huddle. They disperse on the field. Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal walk out to bat. Bhuvneshwar Kumar to start with the ball. Here we go...
