Out of the first five wickets to fall, only the skipper Assad Vala made it into double figures. | Earlier in the day, Kyle Coetzer elected to bat first and it proved to be the right decision as Scotland put on a sizeable total of 165 runs on the board. Early wickets during Papua New Guinea batting meant that they were left with too much to do in the latter half of their innings. In the end, Scotland used their experience to get over the line. | 'Fortune favors the brave.' This statement is apt for describing this Scotland team as they rode their luck against Bangladesh and came out on top in the previous match and in this match as well, they did require a bit of luck to get over the line. It was a commanding display of pace bowling in the Powerplay as the three pacers, Wheal, Davey and Evans all got onto the wickets column.
