It is the first time that a team has been bowled out below three figures and also, this is the lowest first innings total in the history of the ICC T20 World Cup Semi-Finals. It seemed like Afghanistan was more swept up in the excitement of facing world-class opposition in the semifinals than focused on the task at hand.
Afghanistan's batters found themselves utterly bewildered by South Africa's relentless pace attack and unpredictable bounce. The innings began to unravel with Rahmanullah Gurbaz's early dismissal, sparking a swift procession of wickets. Unable to adapt to the challenging conditions, the Afghan lineup crumbled badly.
