With the game reduced to nine overs due to rain, Zimbabwe were in a tricky situation having opted to bat first. In their quest to start hitting from the word go, they never got going. Wesley Madhevere and Milton Shumba’s stand propelled Zimbabwe to a total that didn’t look possible at 19-4.
South Africa were right on the money since the start. They realized very early that the back-of-length deliveries are the way to go on this wicket and kept troubling the Zimbabwean batters with that length. Lungi Ngidi starred with the ball for the Proteas but he was a shade expensive. Wayne Parnell impressed while Kagiso Rabada was rusty.
South Africa will back themselves to chase this total while Zimbabwe will need to create early inroads to stay in the game till the end. Chase coming up shortly, stay tuned…
Lungi Ngidi comes up for a flash interview. The pace bowler shares that it's too wet and it was hard to grip the ball. Mentions that there is a bit of a skidding bounce now and it should be pretty good for batting now. Feels that they should chase it down easily.
Anrich Nortje to Milton Shumba, OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! A wicket to end the innings then! Anrich Nortje bowls this on a good length and on off, Milton Shumba moves across to play the scoop but gets an edge towards the keeper where Quinton de Kock takes a brilliant catch diving to his right. Zimbabwe finish on 79 for 5!

2.4 : Sikandar Raza to Temba Bavuma, Very full and around off, Bavuma tries to play the reverse-batted shot but scuffs it off the bottom edge. It rolls towards the off side and they cross.
2.5 : Sikandar Raza to Quinton de Kock, Shout for an lbw, the finger stays down! Fuller and around middle, skidding in, de Kock goes down to play the slog sweep but fails to connect. He is rapped on the pads, they appeal but nothing from the umpire. Zimbabwe opt to review it, and this will help them in killing some time if the rain gods decide to come again. DRS time. UltraEdge shows no bat and the Ball Tracking shows that it's clipping the leg stump. Umpire's call. Quinton de Kock had started
2.6 : Sikandar Raza to Quinton de Kock, Short in length and outside off, de Kock cuts it through point for a couple of runs. It's a no ball for overstepping, Free Hit coming...

THE MATCH IS CALLED OFF! Points shared. The umpires tried their best but you cannot fight nature. The correct decision is made and both teams get a point each. We were very lucky up until this point in the tournament to get plenty of action against the forecast but that's not the case anymore.
Earlier, this match was reduced to 9-overs-per-side after all the delay at the beginning and then in the second innings, the target was readjusted to 64 runs off 7 overs but even that was not possible. South Africa were off to the best possible start. Quinton de Kock went all guns blazing as South Africa cruised to 40-0 after two overs. With rain interrupting the game again, the target was revised. South Africa were just 13 runs away from victory but more rain ensured that no more play was pos
