Hello and a warm welcome to the first ODI between Sri Lanka and India in Colombo. This Indian side does not have the likes of Kohli, Pant, Bumrah, Ashwin, etc and have gone with players who have impressed in the Indian T20 League and the domestic circuit. It is also Dhawan's first time leading India and he will become the oldest player from India to make his captaincy debut today. On the other hand, Sri Lanka are coming off of a disappointing tour of England where they did not win a single game.
Fun fact - If the Chahar and Pandya brothers play together in any match of the series, then it will be the first time in 87 years that two pairs of siblings will feature in an Indian XI. The last time it happened was back in 1934 against England when Syed Wazir-Nazir Ali and CK Nayudu-CS Nayudu were in the XI.
Prithvi Shaw is down for a chat, he says that it has been a long time since he has batted in an actual game and he is really looking forward to this series. Adds that there are a lot of brilliant players in India and there is plenty of competition but still it is like a family. Says that T20 and ODI are very different formats and he will look to take more time in this format. About Rahul Dravid, says that it is fantastic to work under him and he shares a lot of experience. 
TOSS - Sri Lanka have won the toss and they will bat first.
Dasun Shanaka says that history suggests that batting first is good here. Informs that Bhanuka Rajapaksa is making his ODI debut.

Some good hitting by Sri Lanka in the last few overs means that they have put a decent score on the board. This has been a much better batting show by them compared to what we saw in England. By India, it was mixed performance, they bowled really well in the middle overs and looked on track to skittle the hosts out for a low score, but they let things slide a bit in the death overs.
