9.5 : 9.5: S Lakmal to H Amla, FOUR! POOR LINE! Lakmal drifts on the pads. Amla flicks it uppishly over mid-wicket for a boundary. Only the second boundary of the day.
10.4 : 10.4: N Pradeep to de Kock, FOUR! LOVELY SHOT! Full ball on the pads, de Kock flicks it through the vacant mid-wicket area for a boundary.
12.1 : 12.1: N Pradeep to de Kock, OUT! EDGED AND GONE! That tight line pays off. Sri Lanka get their first breakthrough. Pradeep bowls it on a length, angles it away. De Kock pokes at it and gets an outside edge. Dickwella dives to his left and takes a good catch.

21.5 : 21.5: S Prasanna to H Amla, FOUR! short and wide, slapped away to the right of the diving backward point fielder, and sweeper cover isn't square enough to cut this off. It was close enough to the backward point fielder to count as a mis-field.

23.6 : 23.6: S Prasanna to H Amla, SIX! BANG! They just made the change of getting mid-wicket in and Amla targets that area. The bowler tosses it up, Amla comes down the track and hits it over mid-wicket for a maximum, two boundaries in the over. A good one for South Africa.

30.3 : 30.3: S Prasanna to du Plessis, FOUR! GREAT SHOT! Tosses it up on off stump, Faf drives it beautifully through the covers for a boundary.
31.3: A Gunaratne to H Amla, FOUR! BRILLIANTLY PLACED! Full on leg stump, Amla lifts it over square leg into gap between fine leg and deep square leg for a boundary.
33.3: N Pradeep to du Plessis, FOUR! Carved away over backward point! Short of a length ball outside off, Faf just carves it over the man at point for a boundary.
33.4 : 33.4: N Pradeep to du Plessis, OUT! Gone they get the breakthrough. It needed something brilliant to get du Plessis out and Chandimal comes up with a piece of brilliance in the field. Short ball, Faf goes for the pull but does not get enough elevation to clear Chandimal at mid-wicket who dives to his right and takes a superb catch. It was a superb innings from Faf. Sri Lanka have got a much-needed break through. Can they build on this wicket?
34.4: S Prasanna to de Villiers, OUT! BIG BIG WICKET! AB de Villiers is heading back to the hut. Back-to-back wickets for Sri Lanka. Short ball, de Villiers goes to pull it but gets a top edge and it lobs to covers for a very simple catch. Two wickets in quick succession for Sri Lanka.
34.5 : 34.5: S Prasanna to D Miller, FOUR! A good way to get off the mark. Quicker and full on the stumps, Miller drives it down the ground for a boundary.
36.4 : 36.4: S Prasanna to D Miller, SIX! BANG! He really plays the spinners so well, doesn't he? Excellent shot. Makes great use of his feet, gets to the pitch and smokes it back over the long off fence for a maximum. Hit it flat and with a lot of power.
41.4: S Lakmal to D Miller, OUT! Lakmal strikes! This is good bowling from Suranga Lakmal. Seeing David Miller give the charge, the Lankan pacer bangs it short and follows him too. The southpaw looks to pull but is cramped for room and as a result, gets a big top edge to third man. Seekkuge Prasanna positioned there settles himself under the ball and takes a good catch. Big wicket for them, Miller as everybody knows is a deadly player, especially at the death.
42.3 : 42.3: A Gunaratne to H Amla, OUT! Amla is run out! This is some excellent fielding from Kusal Mendis. Hashim Amla's superb knock has come to an end. Well played, my man! It's worked to the mid-wicket region and Amla comes back for the second. Mendis fires a good, accurate throw at Dickwella who whips the bails off in a flash. Hashim dives to get back in but it's not enough. Umpire Dar doesn't even need to refer it upstairs. He raises his finger and that's that.
43.1 : 43.1: S Lakmal to C Morris, FOUR! Poor ball, Lakmal will be disappointed but Morris won't mind. It's short and wide, Chris slaps it behind point and beats the third man fielder trying to cut it off. Good shot. He doesn't like to waste any time, wants to be amongst the runs instantly.
43.6 : 43.6: S Lakmal to C Morris, FOUR! Back of a length delivery on middle and off, Morris stands tall and pulls it away. Rides the bounce well and sends it across the mid-wicket fence for a boundary.
44.3 : 44.3: L Malinga to C Morris, FOUR! Nobody can save that one. Morris this time creams the drive perfectly in the gap through the covers. The fielder tries chasing it down but fails in his attempt to do so.
44.5 : 44.5: L Malinga to JP Duminy, FOUR! Very, very full and fired outside off, Duminy opens the face of the bat at the last second and runs it down to the third man fence. Knew exactly what he was doing there, intelligently done.
45.1 : 45.1: S Lakmal to JP Duminy, FOUR! Yorker outside off, Duminy looks to drill it through the covers but ends up getting an edge. It rushed through the vacant slip cordon and rockets away to the third man fence for a boundary.
46.6 : 46.6: L Malinga to JP Duminy, FOUR! Beautiful batting from JP Duminy. Knowing Malinga will go full again, he kneels forward and across to take it on the full. Scoops it fine down the leg side and sends it across the boundary line.
47.5 : 47.5: N Pradeep to C Morris, OUT! Excellent piece of fielding from the Lankan skipper. Full outside off, Morris drills it straight to Tharanga at extra cover and takes him on. The Sri Lankan captain has just one stump to aim but he doesn't miss out. Hits his target and dismisses Morris who had given up. Timely strike for the Islanders, that's a good wicket to take in the fag end of the game.
47.6 : 47.6: N Pradeep to JP Duminy, FOUR! Too, too full from Pradeep and he's paid the price. It's wide outside off and Duminy drives this square through point. The fielder out in the deep tries to stop it with a dive but he goes over it and concedes a boundary.
49.5 : 49.5: N Pradeep to JP Duminy, FOUR! A very welcome boundary for JP Duminy. He's been trying to put 'em away but has missed the last few. He drives this straight back down the ground and beats the two men out in the deep for a boundary. Can he finish the innings with a bang?
49.6 : 49.6: N Pradeep to JP Duminy, SIX! Oh, yes he can.. Yes, he can! Absolutely magnificent shot from JP Duminy. It's a full toss on off, he moves across a shade and slogs it right off the meat. Clears the wide long on boundary and sends it sailing into the stands for a maximum. With that, SOUTH AFRICA FINISH ON 299/6!
1.6 : 1.6: W Parnell to N Dickwella, FOUR! Boundary to end the over. Dickwella once again makes room for himself and goes inside out. Lofts it over the covers and sends it across the rope. The chasing fielder had no chance of stopping it.
3.2 : 3.2: W Parnell to N Dickwella, FOUR! Edged and away! That's a big swing and with the kind of pace on the ball, it always has a good chance to fly away. Length delivery outside off, at 137 kph, Dickwella just throws his bat at this. Gets a thick edge which flies over the slip cordon for a boundary.
3.5 : 3.5: W Parnell to N Dickwella, FOUR! Takes the aerial route and gets the desired result. We all know Dickwella isn't somebody who like to sit quiet, he's just going to play his natural game. He makes room to this length ball and lofts it over cover-point to get another boundary to his name.
4.1 : 4.1: K Rabada to N Dickwella, FOUR! That's hit with a lot of disdain. Great intent, brilliant execution. Aggressive stuff from the opener. It's slanting across him on a length, Dickwella whips this away really hard. Strong bottom hand, he clears the infield over mid-wicket and picks up a boundary.
5.5 : 5.5: W Parnell to U Tharanga, Short ball on the stumps, Tharanga rocks back and pulls it through the vacant mid-wicket area for a boundary. This is a very good start here for the Lankans.
6.4 : 6.4: K Rabada to N Dickwella, SIX! BANG! What a shot by Dickwella. Rabada bowls it just back of a length, Dickwella rocks back and heaves it over the mid-wicket fence for a huge six.
6.5 : 6.5: K Rabada to N Dickwella, FOUR! This is fearless batting from Dickwella. Full on the pads Dickwella flicks it over square leg for a boundary. This is a great start for Sri Lanka.

7.4 : 7.4: W Parnell to U Tharanga, FOUR! Back-to-back boundaries for Sri Lanka. Short ball, on the stumps, Tharanga rocks back and slaps it past mid on for another boundary.
8.2 : 8.2: M Morkel to N Dickwella, OUT! The bowling change has done the trick. This was needless from Dickwella but this is how he plays. Length ball on of stump, Dickwella tries to heave it over mid-wicekt but gets a top edge and it goes straight to Parnell at third man who takes it easily. South Africa get the wicket they wanted. A fiery innings from Dickwella comes to an end.
8.5 : 8.5: M Morkel to K Mendis, FOUR! Mendis gets of the mark. Morkel bangs it in short, Mendis goes for the pull and connects. The ball races to the mid-wicekt fence for a boundary.
8.6 : 8.6: M Morkel to K Mendis, FOUR! Boundary to end the over. Full on the pads this time, Mendis flicks it over mid-wicket for the second boundary off the over.
9.2 : 9.2: W Parnell to U Tharanga, FOUR! LOVELY TIMING! Full ball on off stump, Tharanga leans into the drive and drives it through the covers for a boundary.

11.5 : 11.5: C Morris to K Mendis, OUT! De Villiers, you beauty! What a catch by the skipper at mid on. Lands it on a length on middle, Mendis goes for the flick but the ball stops on him and takes an edge goes uppishly to de Villiers at mid on who jumps and takes a one handed catch. They lose their second wicket Sri Lanka and they need more 206 runs off 229 balls.
14.2 : 14.2: M Morkel to D Chandimal, FOUR! POOR LINE! Short and wide outside off stump, Chandimal cuts it hard past point for a boundary.
17.2: I Tahir to D Chandimal, OUT! De Villiers at it again. First he takes an outstanding catch and now a brilliant run out. Tahir bowls it on off, Chandimal drives it to covers and sets off for a run. De Villiers at extra covers dives and half stops it. Recovers quickly and hits the stump directly at the non strikers end. They appeal and the umpire go upstairs. The replays show that Chandimal is short of his crease. The third umpire gives it out Sri Lanka lose their third.
17.5 : 17.5: I Tahir to C Kapugedera, OUT! Tahir you beauty! Second wicket off the over. Bowls the wrong one, out of the back of the hand. Kapugedera does not read it and goes for the flick, he misses it and is struck on the pads. The South Africans appeal and the umpire raises his finger. What a game changing over for South Africa. They are on top now.
22.2 : 22.2: JP Duminy to K Perera, FOUR! Full toss ball from Duminy, Perera goes down on one knee and sweeps it behind square for a boundary.
23.1 : 23.1: I Tahir to U Tharanga, FOUR! Flat, short and on off, Upul Tharanga rocks back and muscles the pull over mid-wicket. The placement is good and it beats the man out in the deep for a boundary.
25.2 : 25.2: I Tahir to U Tharanga, OUT! Tahir gets the big wicket. Tharanga was playing so well. Tahir tosses a wrong one outside off, Tharanga goes for an inside out drive but the ball turns just enough and gets the outside part of the bat. Miller runs to his left and takes a good catch at deep cover. A very important wicket for South Africa. Tharanga goes after a well made fifty.
29.2: I Tahir to A Gunaratne, OUT! Imran Tahir, this guy keeps chipping away at the wickets. He has changed the course of the game. Tahir gets his third. Bowls a leg spinner outside off, Gunaratne goes for a drive but slices it straight to Parnell at cover-point who takes a simple catch. Sri Lanka are in big trouble here they have lost six wickets and they still need 145 more.
31.3 : 31.3: I Tahir to K Perera, FOUR! POOR LINE! Drags it down on leg stump, Perera pulls it behind square leg for a much needed boundary.
33.3: C Morris to K Perera, FOUR! Short and Perera pulls it hard to the right off square leg where the field Maharaj dives in an attempt to stop the ball but could not do so. The ball crooses the ropes and the umpire signals a boundary.
35.2 : 35.2: C Morris to S Prasanna, SIX! WHAT A SHOT! Length ball on off, Prasanna just heaves him over mid-wicket for a maximum.
36.3 : 36.3: K Rabada to K Perera, FOUR! Short ball on the body of the batsman. Perera goes for the pull gets a top edge and it goes fine to the fine leg boundary. They are just starting to gain a little momentum here Sri Lanka.

Morris bowls it on a length on middle, Prasanna tries to flick it but misses it and gets struck on the pads. Morris goes up for an appeal and is given out by the umpire. Prasanna reviews and they go upstairs. The ball pitches in line, the impact is in line and is hitting the top of off. So three reds and the on field call stays. Sri Lanka lose their review.
37.5 : 37.5: C Morris to S Lakmal, OUT! There goes another and its that man Tahir who gets a direct hit from mid on at the strikers end. You can't keep him out of the action. Back of a length ball, Lakmal slaps it to mid on and sets of for a run, Perera does not respond and sends him back. Tahir picks up tha ball and hits the stumps at the strikers end. The umpire goes upstaris to check weather he is out and he is short off the crease. The third umpire give it out.
38.1 : 38.1: K Rabada to L Malinga, OUT! He's dragged it back on! Rabada gets his first of the match. Bowls it on a back of a length around off, Malinga makes room to slap it over the off side but ends up getting a big inside edge. It goes on to hit the stumps and that's another wicket one. South Africa are just one step away from victory.
40.3 : 40.3: K Rabada to N Pradeep, FOUR! Don't think he really meant to hit it there but he'll take it all the same. Rabada hurls it full and outside off, Pradeep awkwardly just chips it over the covers. It races away to the fence, beating the chasing fielders.
40.6 : 40.6: K Rabada to K Perera, FOUR! Overpitched, in an attempt to score the yorker and it's been put away. Kusal Perera backs away and drills it past mid off to end the over with a boundary.
41.3 : 41.3: I Tahir to N Pradeep, OUT! That does it! South Africa have a win in their tournament opener and it's come via a dominant performance. Tossed up on the stumps, Nuwan Pradeep lofts this in an attempt to clear the wide long on boundary. Didn't middle it at all as it's straight down the throat of JP Duminy, who takes a simple catch. Tahir gets his fourth of the game and SOUTH AFRICA WIN BY 96 RUNS!
