We are all set for the action to begin! The Hyderabad players are seen in a huddle and now they make their way out to the middle. They are now followed by the Mumbai openers, Quinton de Kock and Rohit Sharma. The right-hander will take strike and he will face Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Here we go... |
0.1 : B Kumar to R Sharma, Starts off with an incoming delivery but the line is a little too straight. Rohit works it to mid-wicket. |
0.2 : B Kumar to R Sharma, A little bit of away movement this time, it is on the off pole. Rohit blocks it out. |
0.3 : B Kumar to R Sharma, A good confident drive that! Length and around off, Rohit strokes it right off the middle but straight to mid off. |
0.4 : B Kumar to R Sharma, Another nice looking drive but straight to the man at covers. The ball seems to be coming back on the bat nicely here. |
A review early on! A huge shout for an LBW has been turned down. Hyderabad have reviewed. Rohit is the man in question. There seems to be an inside edge. |
0.5 : B Kumar to R Sharma, NOT OUT! A big inside edge! Hyderabad have lost a review in the first over itself! A waste of a review to be honest. Kumar wasn't very sure, Pandey from point did indicate there was an inside edge but they still went with the review. The inswinger from Kumar and it is full. It starts from outside off. Sharma looks to drive but gets an inside edge onto his pads. An appeal follows and the umpire shakes his head. They go for the review and there is a spike on Ultra Edge. |
0.6 : B Kumar to R Sharma, DROPPED! Kaul has put down a sitter! How costly will this prove? It would have been a huge wicket. Rush of blood there as Rohit dances down the track and heaves it across the line. He only manages a top edge which goes high up in the air towards third man. Kaul seems to have judged it well but is falling onto the ground while taking it. In the end he spills it. He straightaway indicates that he lost it in the lights. The batsmen run one in the meantime. Could have been |
Sandeep Sharma to bowl from the other end. |
1.1 : S Sharma to R Sharma, Starts off with a length ball on the pads, Rohit flicks it behind square leg straight to the fielder. |
1.2 : S Sharma to R Sharma, SIX! CLUNK! That is an absolute monster. That is why you cannot drop people of this caliber. This is right in the slot, full and outside off, Rohit gets down and sweeps it massively over square leg! |
1.3 : S Sharma to R Sharma, Full ball on the legs, Rohit flicks it to mid-wicket and takes off for the run. In the end, makes it with a dive to get in the crease. |
1.4 : S Sharma to de Kock, On the pads to de Kock, who flicks it towards square leg for a run. |
1.5 : S Sharma to R Sharma, Fuller outside off, Rohit Sharma drives it straight to mid on. |
1.6 : S Sharma to R Sharma, Continues to bowl full on the pads, Sharma flicks it uppishly towards short mid-wicket. The ball goes past him from his left and in the deep for a run. 9 runs from the over. A good one for Mumbai after the first over in which only a run was scored. |
2.1 : B Kumar to R Sharma, OUCH! That must have hurt. The batters though do take a run eventually. Sharma looks to be innovative as he tries to play the paddle. The ball though is outside off, he tries to drag it but the ball hits the top edge and then onto his chest. De Kock is halfway down the wicket as he wants a run. He then stops though but Rohit responds and in the end they complete it. Kumar did have a shy at the non-striker's end but misses. |
2.2 : B Kumar to de Kock, A little too straight on middle, de Kock looks to work it around the corner but misses and gets hit high on the pads. |
2.3 : B Kumar to de Kock, Good length delivery and on off, Quinton pushes it to covers. The roles seem to have been reversed today, de Kock is playing cautiously to begin with whereas, Rohit is going after the bowlers. |
2.4 : B Kumar to de Kock, SIX! Scratch what I wrote last! He too joins the party with a huge one. Trademark de Kock this. He shuffles across a little and hence the line is now a straighter one. He picks it up and lofts it over the square leg fence. |
2.5 : B Kumar to de Kock, A couple now! Another excellent shot. Makes use of the fielding restrictions. This is a length ball from Kumar. De Kock lofts it over mid on. It is not right off the middle but enough to get two. |
2.6 : B Kumar to de Kock, A dot to end! A good over though for the visitors. 9 from it again. De Kock takes a couple of steps ahead bu Kumar bowls it closer to the body, cramping the batsman for room. De Kock pushes it back to the bowler. |
Mohammad Nabi is introduced into the attack. |
3.1 : M Nabi to R Sharma, Bowls it on the legs, there was a hint of turn on this one, Sharma flicks it to the on side and takes a run. |
3.2 : M Nabi to de Kock, That's a slider, from round the wicket, de Kock nudges forward and keeps it out. |
3.3 : M Nabi to de Kock, Tossed up outside off, de Kock plays a square cut to it. Kaul at point does well to stop it and keep it down to one. |
3.4 : M Nabi to R Sharma, OUT! Rohit holes out! The dropped catch has not cost a lot. Nabi strikes. The bowling change has worked wonders. Not such a great delivery though. It is slightly short and on middle, it is turning back in. Rohit look to pull it but it is not right off the middle. The boundaries here are long and Deepak Hooda in the deep runs in and takes a good catch. The Mumbai skipper fails to make an impact and a much-needed wicket for the hosts as the two seemed to get going. |
Is that a stumping? Bairstow is confident. Suryakumar is emotionless. Referred upstairs... |
3.5 : M Nabi to S Yadav, Not out! That could have been two in two but Yadav has made it inside the crease. Nabi bowls a flatter one outside off, that goes straighter with the arm, Yadav goes to push at it but plays down the wrong line. Bairstow behind the stumps takes the bails off quickly. The decision is taken upstairs. Replays show that Yadav lifted his foot for a second but planted it back to the ground quickly. |
3.6 : M Nabi to S Yadav, Flighted on the pads, Yadav flicks it to mid-wicket for a single. |
Change of ends for Sandeep Sharma. |
4.1 : S Sharma to S Yadav, FOUR! Welcome back into the attack, Sandeep. A terrific shot. The back foot punch straight down the ground. Not easy to play those. It is shortish and around off, Yadav stands tall and powerfully punches it past mid off. It races away. |
4.2 : S Sharma to S Yadav, A little bit of away movement there. It is also fuller in length. Yadav strokes it to covers. |
4.3 : S Sharma to S Yadav, On the stumps again and Yadav pushes it back to the bowler. |
4.4 : S Sharma to S Yadav, The slower one almost did Yadav in there. It is on a length and around off. Yadav is a touch early into the drive. It is hit on the bounce to mid off. Warner there hits the stumps at the non-striker's end but the de Kock is well in. |
4.5 : S Sharma to S Yadav, A little too straight, this is flicked through mid-wicket and two runs taken. |
Have Hyderabad got another? Yadav has been given out LBW. He has reviewed. Impact may just save him here. |
4.6 : S Sharma to S Yadav, OUT! The impact is umpire's call and hitting is also umpire's call. Mumbai lose their second and the change of ends for Sandeep Sharma has worked. Another good wicket as we know how good Yadav has been for the visitors. A audacious shot that. He looks to sweep this knuckle ball on off but misses to get hit on the front pad. The umpire agrees with the appeal by the Hyderabad players. Yadav takes it upstairs. Replays roll in and they show the on-field call is the right on |
Ishan Kishan is the new man in. |
5.1 : M Nabi to de Kock, Bowls a flatter one pitching on middle and going down with the angle, de Kock flicks it behind square for a single. |
5.2 : M Nabi to I Kishan, Full ball outside off, Kishan keeps it out. |
5.3 : M Nabi to I Kishan, Tossed up ball outside off, Kishan pushes it to mid off for a single. |
5.4 : M Nabi to de Kock, Flatter one on off, de Kock drives it towards mid off. |
5.5 : M Nabi to de Kock, Floated on off, de Kock drives it but straight to covers. |
5.6 : M Nabi to de Kock, Bowls a flatter one outside off, de Kock plays a square cut but straight to the point fielder. |
Yusuf Pathan is on now. |
6.1 : Y Pathan to I Kishan, Slightly shorter on middle, this is pushed down to wide long on for a single. |
6.2 : Y Pathan to de Kock, FOUR! A gift there for de Kock. It is down the leg side and it is the quicker one. Quinton says thank you very much and then helps it on its way through backward square leg for a boundary. |
6.3 : Y Pathan to de Kock, The slowness of the wicket comes into play there. This is tossed up on off, de Kock looks to hit it through the off side. The ball though comes off slow of the surface. It goes off the inner half down towards long on for a single. |
6.4 : Y Pathan to I Kishan, A little too straight and this is helped around the corner for a run. |
6.5 : Y Pathan to de Kock, Another one which is fired in on the pads, de Kock works it through mid-wicket and a run is taken. |
6.6 : Y Pathan to I Kishan, A dot to end but a good one for the visitors. The last ball is on off and Kishan guides it to point. |
7.1 : M Nabi to de Kock, Starts with a full ball on the pads, de Kock goes on his knee and sweeps it behind square for a single. |
7.2 : M Nabi to I Kishan, Tossed up on off, Kishan pushes it to covers for a single. |
7.3 : M Nabi to de Kock, Continues bowling to him on the pads, de Kock sweeps him again behind square for a single. |
7.4 : M Nabi to I Kishan, Bowls a full ball on middle, Kishan comes down the track and keeps it out. |
7.5 : M Nabi to I Kishan, Flatter and quicker on the off stump line, Ishan punches it towards cover. |
7.6 : M Nabi to I Kishan, Slower through the air, pitching on middle, Kishan goes forward and flicks it to mid-wicket for a single. Just the 4 singles off the over. |
Siddarth Kaul to bowl now. |
8.1 : S Kaul to I Kishan, Outside off, pushed towards point for a quick single. |
8.2 : S Kaul to de Kock, OUT! Caught in the deep! De Kock falls now and Mumbai have lost their top 3 inside 10 overs. It seemed to be a terrific shot at first. Probably at the Wankhede, this would have been taken in the crowd. But at Uppal, the boundaries are longer. A length ball, around middle and leg, angling away, Quinton pulls this with absolute ease over mid-wicket. However, to his dismay, he finds Deepak Hooda waiting for the catch patiently. QdK falls for 19 and Mumbai are 43/3. |
Strategic break. Okay. Are Mumbai trying to do too much? Their approach suggests that they are eyeing a huge score, considering Warner and Bairstow in the opposition. But the track does not look like a 200-one. It is on the slower side and 150-160 could prove match-winning. Partnerships are the key. Here comes KRUNAL PANDYA. |
8.3 : S Kaul to K Pandya, Around middle, pushed towards cover. |
8.4 : S Kaul to K Pandya, Outside off, punched through point for a single. |
8.5 : S Kaul to I Kishan, FOUR! That is some stroke. Wow-a-wow. It is not all that short and not much width given either from Kaul. But what does Kishan do? Waits for the ball to come to him, then arches back and steers it behind point. Third man starts to run to his left but eventually, comes second best. |
8.6 : S Kaul to I Kishan, Full and around off, watchfully defended. |
9.1 : M Nabi to K Pandya, Bowls a flat one on the pads, Pandya flicks it to square leg and takes a quick brace. |
9.2 : M Nabi to K Pandya, Pitching on off, Krunal keeps it out. |
9.3 : M Nabi to K Pandya, Strays on the pads to Pandya, who wrists it down to square leg for a single. |
9.4 : M Nabi to I Kishan, Flighted on middle, Kishan flicks it to mid-wicket and changes strike. |
9.5 : M Nabi to K Pandya, Flatter on off, Krunal pushes it towards cover. |
9.6 : M Nabi to K Pandya, Another flatter delivery outside off, Krunal punches it to point. |
Rashid Khan is on now. |
10.1 : R Khan to I Kishan, Starts off with a quicker one on off, Kishan punches it to covers for a single. |
10.2 : R Khan to K Pandya, Another quicker ball on middle, Pandya punches it off his back foot to the off side. |
10.3 : R Khan to K Pandya, Flatter on midde, Krunal flicks it but straight to mid-wicket. |
An appeal for a stumping has been taken upstairs. Krunal is the man in question but Bairstow does not seem to be confident. |
10.4 : R Khan to K Pandya, Not out! Googly, pitching on leg and coming in. Krunal goes for the sweep but fails to connect. Bairstow behind the stumps takes the bails off and appeals. Replays show that Pandya's back foot never left the crease. |
10.5 : R Khan to K Pandya, Wide! That is unlucky for the bowler because it surely hit something but the umpire could not see that and signalled it as a wide. Rashid bowls it on the leg stump line, Pandya goes for the flick and gets an inside edge onto his pads and the ball goes fine. They take two in the process. |
R Khan to K Pandya, Fuller on off, driven towards cover for a single. |
Siddarth Kaul is back into the attack. |
10.6 : R Khan to I Kishan, FOUR! Lucky! Kishan goes on the back foot to this flighted ball and plays an educational edge which goes past the diving Warner at first slip and into the third man fence. |
11.1 : S Kaul to K Pandya, A little too straight, zips off the surface. It is worked around the corner and the batsmen take a run. |
11.2 : S Kaul to I Kishan, Good length and on middle, Kishan defends it onto the ground. |
11.3 : S Kaul to I Kishan, Nicely played but just for a single. This is short and it is the slower one. Kishan waits for it and then guides it down to third man for a single. |
11.4 : S Kaul to K Pandya, OUT! Another one bites the dust! The short ball does the trick. This is a very good short ball. On this slow surface, Kaul really got this one to zip through. It is on middle. Pandya is hurried into the pull shot. He only manages a top edge which lobs towards the keeper who takes an excellent catch. Kaul is pumped and Hyderabad stay on top. |
Kieron Pollard is the new man in. |
11.5 : S Kaul to K Pollard, Takes a few steps ahead and then works it through square leg for a single. |
11.6 : S Kaul to I Kishan, Attacks the off pole and this has been kept out off the front foot. Another good over for the hosts. Just the three runs and a wicket from it. |
12.1 : R Khan to K Pollard, Leg spinner outside off, Pollard pushes it back to the bowler. |
12.2 : R Khan to K Pollard, Tossed up on middle, Pollard punches it to mid on for a single. |
12.3 : R Khan to I Kishan, Kishan goes on the front foot and keeps this out. |
12.4 : R Khan to I Kishan, That was close! Rashid bowls a tossed up yorker. Kishan goes for the flick and plays it to short mid-wicket. Replays later show that it was close to the toe of the batsman. But Hyderabad have already lost a review so can't challenge this decision. |
A run out appeal has been taken upstairs! Bairstow though seems to have dislodged the bails with his hands. |
12.5 : R Khan to I Kishan, OUT! Kishan has been adjudged run out. Adjudged. Bizarre dismissal. Let us go step by step. First, it is a googly from Rashid. Kishan looks to work it to the leg side but the ball spins away, hits the high portion of the bat and goes off the leading edge to cover. Kishan comes halfway down the track but is sent back because Pollard barely moves a muscle. Vijay Shankar gets across and then returns a decent throw to Bairstow. Here comes the controversy. Bairstow looks to |
Hardik Pandya walks in next. |
12.6 : R Khan to H Pandya, Outside off, punched through the covers for a couple. Big over in the context of the game. |
13.1 : S Kaul to K Pollard, Length ball outside off, Pollard pushes it towards cover and takes a quick single. |
13.2 : S Kaul to H Pandya, Play and a miss. Short ball outside off, Pandya plays at it but fails to connect. |
13.3 : S Kaul to H Pandya, Another length ball outside off, Pandya pushes at it but the ball takes the outside edge and goes towards third man. They take a brace |
13.4 : S Kaul to H Pandya, Excellent pace bowling this from Kaul here. He bowls it quick and outside off, Pandya pokes at it but the ball seams away and misses the outside edge of the bat. |
13.5 : S Kaul to H Pandya, Fuller on middle, Pandya drives it to mid on and changes strike. |
13.6 : S Kaul to K Pollard, Kaul sees that Pollard is walking down the track so bowls it short and rearing up on Pollard's shoulder. Pollard does well to keep it out to the on side and takes a run. |
The strategic break has been signaled! Hyderabad continue to be on top here. Mumbai however, have their best hitters out in the middle. They would be expecting them to deliver and somehow get them to the 150-run mark. However, they need to go at more than 10 per over. However, the Ishan Kishan decision could hurt the visitors as they will now have to delay their big shots. The hosts on the other hand, will want to break this stand as quickly as possible. |
14.1 : R Khan to K Pollard, A jaffa. Tossed up outside off, spinning away, Pollard pushes at it loosely and is beaten. |
14.2 : R Khan to K Pollard, Around middle, pushed through mid-wicket for a single. |
14.3 : R Khan to H Pandya, Outside off, pushed straight to cover. |
14.4 : R Khan to H Pandya, BEAUTY! That is a terrific ball. How did that miss the stumps? Rashid has his hands on his head. Pollard asks Hardik something and he responds with a thumbs up. Looped up around off, Hardik lunges to flick but is beaten comprehensively. Luckily for Pandya, the ball pitches, turns and then bounces past the off stump! |
14.5 : R Khan to H Pandya, Works it through mid-wicket for a single. |
14.6 : R Khan to K Pollard, Around off, Pollard has a wild swing. The ball goes off the inner half of the bat towards deep mid-wicket. Just a run. |
Sandeep Sharma returns. |
15.1 : S Sharma to K Pollard, Starts off with a length ball outside off, Pollard pushes it towards long on and takes a run. |
15.2 : S Sharma to H Pandya, Fuller this time on off, Pandya moves across and drives it straight past the bowler for a run as long on cuts it out. |
15.3 : S Sharma to K Pollard, Full and outside off, Pollard drives it to mid off and takes a run. |
15.4 : S Sharma to H Pandya, Bowls a knuckle ball this time as Pandya pokes at it. The ball shapes away a bit and beats the outside edge. |
15.5 : S Sharma to H Pandya, Length ball on the pads, Hardik plays it through mid-wicket for a run. |
15.6 : S Sharma to K Pollard, Wide! Misses his line this time as he bowls it way down the leg side. Pollards lets it go to be wided. |
S Sharma to K Pollard, On a length outside off, Pollard shows full face of the bat and plays it back to the bowler. |
16.1 : R Khan to H Pandya, SIX! That is colossal! Hardik Pandya, you beauty! Picks the googly and then goes with the turn. Hits it right off the middle and into the long on stands. Ideal start to the over, need to make this count. |
16.2 : R Khan to H Pandya, Good fielding! Saved two at least! This is very full and on off, Pandya hammers it back towards the bowler. Rashid sticks his left leg out and manages to stop it. |
16.3 : R Khan to H Pandya, OUT! Rashid has the last laugh! Hardik though can feel a little unfortunate here. He had hit that nicely. He brings out the slog sweep but hits it flat and in the air towards the man in the deep at mid-wicket. Shankar there takes a good catch. The idea was good but the ball may have just hurried onto him and hence, he did not get the elevation he wanted. The dangerous Pandya departs. Now the onus of taking Mumbai to a decent total depends on Kieron Pollard. |
Rahul Chahar is the new man in. |
16.4 : R Khan to R Chahar, FOUR! What a way to get off the mark and what a shot. Very clever! It is bowled outside off. Chahar waits for it and then plays it late past the slip fielder. Uses the pace of the bowler nicely and it races to the fence. |
16.5 : R Khan to R Chahar, This is fired on the stumps, Chahar gets right behind the line and defends it out. |
16.6 : R Khan to R Chahar, Cheeky again and it comes off. Not a boundary but vital two runs. Chahar once again plays it very late and guides it through the right of Warner at slip this time. Two taken. 12 from Rashid's last over but he took the big wicket of Pandya. Another very good day for him, his figures read 4-0-27-1. |
Bhuvneshwar Kumar is back into the attack. |
17.1 : B Kumar to K Pollard, Starts with a slower delivery outside off, Pollard plays at it but fails to connect. |
17.2 : B Kumar to K Pollard, DROPPED! This could have been the final nail in the coffin but Rashid drops it. Kumar bowls a length ball outside off, Pollard lofts it above covers. Rashid in the deep runs in and goes low to take it but fails to hang onto it. |
17.3 : B Kumar to R Chahar, FOUR! That's his third boundary and all three have come by a late cut. Kumar bowls it on a length outside off, Chahar late cuts it and the ball races to the third man fence. Some handy runs here by the batsman given the total Mumbai have. |
17.4 : B Kumar to R Chahar, That's a peach of a delivery. Kumal bowls a length ball shaping just away form the batsman, Chahar pokes at it but misses to get bat on ball. |
17.5 : B Kumar to R Chahar, Similar length and Chahar again fails to connect it. |
17.6 : B Kumar to R Chahar, OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! A handy innings by Chahar though comes to the end. Can't blame him for this shot though. It was the last ball so you would not expect Pollard to take a single and hence, it was a free hit for him. He swings to this delivery outside off but only manages an outside edge to Bairstow. |
Alzarri Joseph, the debutant, comes out to bat. |
18.1 : S Kaul to K Pollard, SIX! HUGE! A one-handed biggie! Such is the power of this man. It is the slower one and outside off. Pollard seems to have been foxed by it. He is a touch early into the shot and hence once hand comes off. He though still gets good enough connection and it sails over the long on fence. Once again perfect start to the over. Need a few more. |
18.2 : S Kaul to K Pollard, Excellent comeback! A yorker outside off, not a lot you can do with that. Pollard fails to put bat on ball. |
18.3 : S Kaul to K Pollard, SIX! A freebie and Pollard takes full toll of it. It is on the pads, Kieron flicks it nonchalantly and into the mid-wicket stand. 12 from the first three balls. Pressure on the bowler here. |
18.4 : S Kaul to K Pollard, NO BALL! Kaul has overstepped. Maybe in the attempt to try harder. It is another full toss though and Pollard fails to take full toll of it this time as he finds covers. Free Hit coming up though. |
S Kaul to K Pollard, SIX! Third in the over! Another West Indian clearing the ropes with ease here. Another full toss, Pollard says thank you very much and hits it right over the mid-wicket fence. Makes the Free Hit count. 2 more balls to go. |
18.5 : S Kaul to K Pollard, Misses out there does Pollard! Another full toss and outside off, Pollard looks to go over covers but fails to put bat on ball. Now then one ball to go, will Pollard go for a biggie or will he be happy to take a single and keep strike? |
18.6 : S Kaul to K Pollard, He is happy to keep strike as he pushes this full toss down the ground towards long off for a run. A very expensive over, 20 from it. Can this be the momentum changing over? |
Final over then. 20 came in the previous one. Cannot rule out another 20 with Pollard at the crease. Can Mumbai get to 140? Or does Bhuvi have plans for the West Indian? |
19.1 : B Kumar to K Pollard, WIDE. Pressure on the bowler. Expects Pollard to back away and fires it down the leg side. But Kieron stays where he is. |
B Kumar to K Pollard, FOUR! CLOUT! No, no, no. Not to this man. He will butcher you. Width outside off and the length is short. What do you expect? Slapped over cover for a boundary. 5 balls left... |
19.2 : B Kumar to K Pollard, Nice riposte from Bhuvi. Goes for the inswinger, KP looks to flick but gets a thick leading edge wide of point. Two runs taken. |
19.3 : B Kumar to K Pollard, Another inswinger, almost a yorker, pushed down to long on. Pollard does not run. |
19.4 : B Kumar to K Pollard, Now he runs. That too, twice. Another jammer from Kumar, full and swinging in, KP pushes it towards long on and charges back for the second. |
19.5 : B Kumar to K Pollard, DROPPED, SIX! Oh dear... Mohammad Nabi, of all the people. The coolest customer in the Hyderabad tank. A full toss, around leg stump, Pollard swings hard but does not quite get the required elevation. The ball travels towards deep square leg where Nabi runs to his right and looks to catch it but the power on that, makes him lose control. Ends up parrying it over the ropes. |
19.6 : B Kumar to K Pollard, MISFIELD, FOUR! Mumbai end on 136/7! Bonus runs for them. Another full toss from Bhuvi, Pollard just hammers this down to long on. The fielder comes running in, Deepak Hooda it is, looks to stop it but cannot quite get to the pitch of the ball. The ball hits his left leg and deflects into the ropes behind! |
39 runs in the last 2 overs. Ouch. Have Hyderabad given away 20 runs too many? The pitch looks to be on the slower side but towards the end, dew came into play which might bring the smile on the faces of Hyderabad's batsmen. |
Rashid Khan is having a chat with Michael Slater. The Afghan star says they dropped quite a few catches in the end and hence Mumbai scored around 30 runs more. Mentions the wicket looks good though and feels they bowled well, gaining assistance from the bounce on it. On being asked whether Hyderabad can chase it down, Rashid hopes the openers can continue their good form and take the team home. Ends by saying he is happy with the support the players are getting and that makes them strive for mor |
That was Rashid Khan's point of view. Two ways to look at this score. Mumbai make only 136. Or Mumbai rocket to 136 after being under 100 in the 18th over. No batsman showed enough patience to stick on the wicket, clearly aiming for more than they should have. Kieron Pollard though hung in there and took full toll in the last 2 overs, albeit the visitors would not have even reached this much had it not been for his dropped catch by Rashid when on 8. |
Excellent bowling from Hyderabad. They might not be happy given the final 2 overs but for 90 percent of the innings, they had their hands on Mumbai's throat. Mohammad Nabi was the most influential bowler, with 1/13 in his 4 overs, choking the visitors in the middle period. Rashid was intelligently played out, as usual. |
137 to win then. Was it poor bowling from Hyderabad towards the end? Too many full tosses. Or was the ball slipping out of their hands? The slipping aspect indicates that dew could play a key role. The pitch is slow though. Too many questions. Let the game resume! |
