0.0 : Hello all and welcome to yet another double-header day in the Indian T20 League. We are just about 30 minutes away from the toss of the first game. Who are playing first? Two Australians are leading their respective sides. Yes, it's Hyderabad vs Rajasthan! |
Let's talk about Hyderabad first! They started poorly as they lost their first two games and then made a fine comeback to win 3 of their next 4. On the back of their fantastic win against Punjab in their last game, the side will be high on confidence. There is still a bit of instability in the middle order of their batting but with Bairstow and Warner leading the charge, it has been working well for the Orange Army. The bowlers arrived a bit late to the party for them but they certainly have and |
What about Rajasthan? Two thumping victories to begin the tournament and then hammering in the next four games. Samson started the tournament with 2 stunning half tons but since then has failed to get to double digits in the next 4 games. Smith and Buttler too have failed to get going consistently. In the bowling department too, it's been all Jofra Archer. The spinners have done well in patches but the collective effort hasn't come from them either. There are chances that Ben Stokes who has fini |
PITCH REPORT - Kevin Pietersen and Michael Slater are out in the middle for the pitch report. Slater says that the pitch is the same as last night and it seems to be slowing down. Kevin says that the pitch is getting a little dry and that the grass is gone. He also adds that bowlers are bowling short of length because of the square boundaries. Slater adds that there will be fewer wickets and much more runs. Both of them agree that if you win the toss, you have got to bat first. |
TOSS - Time for the flip of the coin! Both the captains are out in the middle. Up it goes and it lands in Hyderabad's favor! They will BAT! |
David Warner, the skipper of Hyderabad, starts off by saying that there is no pressure on himself and Bairstow up top and that they need to make the most of the situation. Adds that it helps to have a lot of younger players in the team and that they are calm and composed and that the senior players let the younger players express themselves. States that there is one change as Vijay Shankar comes in for Abdul Samad. |
Hyderabad (Playing XI) - David Warner (C), Jonny Bairstow (WK), Manish Pandey, Kane Williamson, Vijay Shankar (IN PLACE OF ABDUL SAMAD), Priyam Garg, Abhishek Sharma, Rashid Khan, Sandeep Sharma, Khaleel Ahmed, T Natarajan. |

On chasing on this wicket, Smith feels that the surface will slow down a bit and hopes that they bowl well and keep them down to a small total. Tells that Ben Stokes is in for this game. Tells that there are two more changes as well. Tells that Riyan Parag and Robin Uthappa are back in the team as well. |
Kane Williamson is in for a chat. He says that Bairstow and Warner are match-winners and they are playing really well. Adds that every game is a tough one and today is no different. Tells that the youngsters are talented players and that it is difficult for players to get game time in the tournament. Says that he has been sharing ideas with the younger players, rather than him giving advice. Praises T Natarajan and says that he has bowled beautifully for them and since Bhuvi is missing now, this |

Warner is still out there in the middle and he is joined by Manish Pandey opposite him which will worry Rajasthan a little bit. 16.2 : Kartik Tyagi to Kane Williamson, Low full toss this time, it is flicked down to long on for a single. |
0.0 : DRINKS! Rajasthan have done well to get rid of Warner as having him towards the end of the innings can prove to be very harmful to them. Hyderabad still need some big overs towards the end as they need to add some more runs to their total. Manish Pandey and Kane Williamson are both still out there and with them out there, Hyderabad have a good chance of adding some valuable runs towards the end of the innings. 19.6 : Jaydev Unadkat to Priyam Garg, OUT! RUN OUT! A wicket on the last ball. Full and wide outside off, Garg slams it towards long off. They want two. Archer at long off returns a bullet throw to the keeper and Buttler takes the bails off to find Garg short. Hyderabad finish with 158/4. |
This has been a good finish by Hyderabad in the last couple of overs and they also added 35 runs in the last 2 overs. They needed to go big if they were to cross the 150-run mark and some big hitting courtesy of Pandey, Williamson and a very short cameo by Garg has made sure that Hyderabad cross the mark and they have finished with 158 on the board. |
Hyderabad started off slow in this game and their openers Warner and Bairstow could not replicate their opening stand they had in the previous game. Jonny Bairstow fell first right at the start. Warner and Pandey did well to steady the ship for quite some time. But then Warner lost his wicket to Archer. Pandey continued to go big but fatigue plays a big part in the afternoon games as he looked tired when he gave his wicket away cheaply. In the end, short cameos by Williamson and Garg played smal |
Rajasthan started off well with the ball. They kept things slow and Hyderabad found it hard to get going. They also did well to get rid of Bairstow right at the start and they did not give him any time to settle. Archer was good once again with the ball and he removed Warner in a crucial stage in the game. Archer, Tyagi and Unadkat did well to scalp a wicket each for Rajasthan. |
Right then! Hyderabad started off slow but they picked up things towards the end of the innings. Rajasthan will have some pressure as they require this win tonight and they will need their big stars to fire tonight. Will Hyderabad's bowling strike or will the batters of Rajasthan step up and chase this total down? Join us in a bit for the chase! |
0.1 : We are back for the run chase! Both the umpires stride out to the middle and they are followed by Rajasthan openers. Jos Buttler has a new partner this time around as Ben Stokes walks out with him. DRINKS! This has been another great bowling performance by Hyderabad so far. They have choked the batters of Rajasthan and have not allowed them to score a lot of runs and have also picked up wickets along the way. With the bowling attack that they possess, it should be Hyderabad's game but in this edition of the Indian T20 League, you just never know. Rajasthan, on the other hand, will have to go big if they are to win this game. An exciting segment of play coming up. |

Well, what a cracker of a game we have had here. It seemed as though Hyderabad with their bowling attack but it was the duo of Rahul Tewatia and Riyan Parag who turned up and crossed the finish line for the Rajasthan, who have finally won a game after a slump. They will be really pleased with this performance. |
Rajasthan started off really poorly with the bat. There was a surprise as Ben Stokes opened the innings with Buttler but that experiment did not quite work out as Stokes was back in the hut right at the start of play. Smith and Buttler too followed him back into the hut and they did not have the desired impact that they would have wanted. Samson and Uthappa got them back with a well made 36-run partnership but then Uthappa fell. Samson followed him back shortly after and it looked like this woul |
This will disappoint Warner as they had the game with them and gave it away to Rajasthan. All of the bowlers bowled well for Hyderabad today but it was towards the end of the Rajasthan batting, that they eased down and Tewatia and Parag took full advantage of the same and wrapped the game up for Rajasthan. Rashid and Khaleel scalped 2 wickets each. All things considered, this will be a tough pill to swallow for Hyderabad. |
Earlier in the day, Hyderabad started off with the bat. They lost Bairstow early courtesy of youngster Kartik Tyagi. Manish Pandey was the shining light as he scored a very well made half-century. Pandey's knock coupled with the small cameos by Williamson and Garg, they cruised to 158 runs. With the bowling they possessed, they should have defended this total but the duo of Tewatia and Parag snatched the game away from Hyderabad. |
Rahul Tewatia has been adjudged as the Man of the Match for this game. Right then! We have had a very exciting clash in the first game of our day as Rajasthan had a brave batting effort in the last stages of the game and won the game for Rajasthan. The action continues as table toppers Delhi take on the second placed Mumbai at Abu Dhabi now. Switch over tabs for all the action from that game. |
