A comfortable win for the Windies! An absolute morale boosting one for them. After Shai Hope's ton and handy innings from Lewis and Russell, they posted a massive 422. In reply, New Zealand needed a powerful start but they did not get it. They lost three even before they got to 50. Williamson and Blundell then steadied the ship. The Windies bowling was very good to begin with. Till the time the ball was new, Cottrell, Thomas and Holder, all did a good job. However, once the ball got soft, their bowlers did take a pounding. Only Nurse was able to bowl a good spell during the middle overs. Carlos Brathwaite though finished as the pick of the bowlers as he ended with a three-fer. |
