The management aptitude test (MAT) will be conducted by the All India Management Association (AIMA) in two formats — online and offline — this May. The written test will be conducted on May 6, while the computer-based format will go on the floors from May 12.

The two-and-a-half-hour-long examination carrying 800 marks has five sections — language comprehension, mathematical skills, data analysis and sufficiency, intelligence and critical reasoning, and Indian and global environment. Candidates, however, are scored only on the first four sections. The test will be conducted at 81 centres across the state.

Meanwhile, the MAT already published its annual schedule on its official website stating that there are no plans to discontinue the test. An official from the AIMA said, “The All India Council for Technical Education has introduced common management admission test (CMAT). The court has approved CMAT with other tests. But, the question whether it will replace all other tests is sub judice.”

A statement uploaded on the website says, “Contrary to erroneous newspaper reports, AIMA will continue to administer MAT to MBA aspirants.”
