Major telecom companies, including Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Jio, have increased tariffs on all prepaid and postpaid plans. From July 3, the tariff rates have been hiked by up to 25 per cent. The telecom companies have discontinued their previous plans and are now introducing new plans for users. Reliance Jio, which has the largest number of users, has introduced three new ‘True Unlimited Upgrade’ add-on plans.

This comes after the company faced flak for removing some of the most popular affordable plans for prepaid users. The three new prepaid plans are an add-on to the existing plan in use. The new plans are called 'True Unlimited Upgrade plans' and include Rs 51, Rs 101 and Rs 151. They all come with unlimited 5G data and an additional 4G data. The Rs 51 plan includes 3GB of 4G data. The Rs 101 plan includes 6GB of 4G data and the Rs 151 plan offers 9GB of 4G data.

It is worth noting that the unlimited 5G data is available only when connected to the Jio True 5G network, and the device must support 5G. If the network moves to 4G, the plans offer limited data. These new plans are aimed at plans with less than 1.5GB daily data. This is because Jio users already get unlimited 5G data with plans that offer 2GB per day or more data. One can check the new recharge plans on the Jio website.
