Divyaka Tripathi reached out to Italy's Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni after she and her husband Vivek Dahiya got robbed in Florence. The Yeh Hai Mohabbatein actors were celebrating their eighth wedding anniversary in Europe, but they got robbed of valuables of Rs 10 lakhs, and even their passports got stolen.

On July 11, Divyanka sought PM Meloni's help, and tweeted on X, "Dear PM Ms @GiorgiaMeloni We were passionately touring Italy until we got robbed. Reported to the police.   But robberies are being taken so casually here that we have already lost hope along with our enthusiasm. How will I & my people ever gather the courage to visit Italy again?"

A few minutes after she tweeted, Divyanka shared another update about the embassy helping them, but she also questioned the safety and security of Italy. Divyanka tweeted, "Our embassy is helping us, but how about Italy taking up the responsibility for the safety for the tourists. It's not only about us but cumulatively all those who save up & spend a fortune to be here." She also tagged Italian officials with the tweet.

What happened to Divyanka-Vivek in Europe?

Indian television actors Divyanka Tripathi and Vivek Dahiya, in Florence for a holiday, lost their passports, cash and cards when thieves smashed the window of their vehicle while they were at a resort close to the Italian tourist town. They are in the process of getting an FIR registered and are awaiting help from the Indian Embassy, Tripathi told PTI over the phone from Florence on Thursday.

In an interview with Times of India, Vivek Dahiya said, "We tried contacting the local police, but they dismissed our case, saying that without CCTV cameras in that specific area, they can’t help us. They even felt there was no point in them visiting the location. The police station shuts at 6 pm, and after that, they can’t offer any assistance. We also tried reaching out to the embassy, but unfortunately, they had already closed for the day.” Divyanka and Vivek are scheduled to return to India, and they sought bureaucratic intervention, which they received.
