Sumona Chakravarti reacted to the reports of being fired from The Kapil Sharma Show,
Sumona Chakravarti recently made headlines after reports of her being fired from The Kapil Sharma Show circulated. Some reports suggested she wasn't informed about Kapil's new show, The Great Indian Kapil Show, and was upset with the comedian.
However, in an interview with News18, Sumona denied all these rumors, saying they are not true at all. She said, “It is so weird because literally a few days ago, there was a very nice article. I had spoken to a journalist and had said exactly the opposite thing. Then, of course, two days later another publication decided to write an article which said completely the opposite. I had nothing to say because I was also in Romania”.
She added, "I have said this time and again, I was part of a show which ended in July last year and it’s not like you exited or I resigned or I got fired, the show ended in July and after that, we all went ahead. We took up our individual projects after that. I’m doing Khatron Ke Khiladi. He (Kapil Sharma) did another show. It’s just that there is no bad blood at all. Why would I be upset (with Kapil)? He and I worked before and I went to Romania."
Sumona played a very important role in Kapil Sharma's comedy shows, starting from Comedy Nights With Kapil to The Kapil Sharma Show, where she was an integral part of the cast.
On being asked about her feelings regarding the negative reports about herself. The actress responded, when she started her career 20 years ago, they did, but now she has found a way to detach herself from negativity. She repeats and believes, "your opinion of me is not my responsibility."
On the work front, Sumona will appear on the adventure reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi 14, which is set to premiere on July 27.
