In a shocking turn of events, Sheikha Mahra Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, daughter of the ruler of Dubai, has announced her divorce from her husband via an explosive Instagram post. The announcement comes a little over two months after the couple welcomed their first child.
“Dear husband, As you are occupied with other companions, I hereby declare our divorce. I divorce you, I divorce you, and I divorce you. Take care. Your ex-wife,” wrote the Dubai princess on Instagram on Tuesday.
Alongside the announcement, Sheikha Mahra has also removed all photos featuring her husband from her Instagram account.
Sheikha Mahra married Sheikh Mana bin Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mana Al Maktoum, an Emirati businessman, in May last year. The couple celebrated the birth of their daughter a year later. Sheikh Mana, who is in his 20s, is known for his various business ventures.
In May this year, the Dubai princess shared photos from the hospital shortly after childbirth, expressing her gratitude to the medical team for providing her with "the most memorable experience for bringing baby Mahra to this world." The photos, now deleted, included her husband standing by her side and holding their newborn daughter.
The couple had previously celebrated a gender reveal party in February, and Sheikha Mahra announced her pregnancy five months after their Nikah ceremony, sharing an ultrasound scan on Instagram Stories. Her husband had also shared the scan on his Instagram Stories.
However, signs of trouble became apparent in June when Sheikha Mahra posted a photo with her baby, captioned “Just the two of us,” notably excluding her husband.

Sheikha Mahra is the daughter of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the vice president, prime minister, and minister of defence of the UAE. She is one of the 26 children of the Dubai ruler and has mixed Emirati and Greek heritage through her mother, Zoe Grigorakos, who hails from Greece. Despite her parents' divorce, Sheikha Mahra maintains a close relationship with her mother, often sharing photos of them together on Instagram.
