High blood sugar or diabetes, has far-reaching consequences on our health as it weakens our body, affects organs and causes various chronic diseases, if not controlled. There are several green leaves which help lower blood sugar levels and prevent diabetes.

Here are 5 different kinds of leaves that act as a natural remedy to lower blood sugar levels.

A famous herb used in Ayurvedic medicine, Ashwagandha - also called Indian Ginseng - is extremely helpful for people with Type 2 diabetes as it reduces sugar levels by increasing the production of insulin in the blood. 

1. Ashwagandha leaves

A rich source of fibre and widely used in South Indian dishes, curry leaves are beneficial for diabetic patients, as they control blood sugar levels and boost insulin activity. Thus, curry leaves must be chewed in the morning daily.

2. Curry leaves

Loaded with pectin, vitamin C and fibre, mango leaves are beneficial for people with high blood sugar levels and high cholesterol. Consume it by boiling the leaves in water. Then leave it overnight, and drink it in the morning.
