Tea is the most beloved beverage in India. People mostly take it two times a day.

However, the Indian medical body ICMR has recently advised its moderation consumption.

It warned against excessive intake of tea due to potential health concerns. Know 6 rules to take tea:

Tea contains 30 - 65mg of caffeine. ICMR advises a daily intake of just 300mg of caffeine.

It advised avoiding tea for at least an hour before and after meals.

This is because tea contains tannins, which can reduce iron absorption in the body.

ICMR said drinking tea without milk has various benefits such as improved blood circulation.

Health experts suggest one should also avoid strong tea on an empty stomach.

One should avoid taking tea just before sleep.
