The Mughals introduced several delectable desserts to India, which reflects the rich culinary heritage of the Mughal era and continue to be enjoyed in India and beyond. Here are 8 desserts that have roots in Mughal cuisine:

Gulab Jamun: It is one of the most loved dessert in India. It was brought by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan

Jalebi: It is a popular Indian dessert, brought by emperor Akbar, made by shaping a batter of refined flour into pretzel-like shape and sugar syrup. 

Shahi Tukda: This sweet dish is also known as Double ka Meetha, is a rich bread pudding dessert which was introduced in India by Mughal empress Noor Jahan. 

Kheer: It is a classic Indian dessert enjoyed on various occasions. This dish was introduced in India by Emperor Babur.

Malpua: Malpua which is commonly enjoyed during festivals like Holi and Diwali was brought by Emperor Aurangzeb. 

Phirni: Brought by Emperor Jahangir, is a creamy rice pudding similar to Kheer but with a finer texture. 

Kulfi: It is a traditional Indian ice cream which is frozen in cone-shaped molds, resulting in a dense and creamy dessert. It was brought in India during Akbar's administration.

Anjeer Halwa: This sweet and rich halwa is a delightful treat enjoyed during festive seasons. It was rought by Emperor Farrukhsiyar.
