Laxmi Niwas Mittal, one of London's richest businessmen, is the father of Vanisha Mittal. 2004 saw the marriage of Vanisha and Amit Bhatia.

The pair got married in Paris, and their union established the record for the world's priciest wedding, costing a staggering 55 million dollars (about Rs. 400 crore).

Isha Ambani, the daughter of Asia's richest Mukesh Ambani, wed Anand Piramal in a lavish ceremony attended by celebrities from all over the world. The wedding invitation was packaged by Dolce & Gabbana for the guests. The Ambanis reportedly spent Rs 700 crores on this extravagant event. 

Brahmani, the daughter of former politician and mining tycoon Gali Janardhana Reddy, wed Rajeev Reddy, the son of Vikram Dev Reddy, a business tycoon in Hyderabad. The Rs 500 crore wedding was hosted by Reddy. 

A five-day event at the Bangalore Palace drew 50,000 guests, including prominent politicians and stars from Bollywood.  According to several sources, the lavish wedding invitations, which cost Rs 5 crore, featured a gold-plated LCD screen with a video of the couple lip-syncing to an Indian song.

Sonam Vaswani is the daughter of Sunil Vaswani, the founder of Stallion Group and one of the wealthiest businessmen in UAE. In a lavish ceremony held in a royal retreat in Vienna, Austria, she married Navin, the son of Kamal Fabiana. While the mehendi ritual was held in Vienna's Palais Liechtenstein Park, the nuptial was held at the Belvedere Palace. The wedding costs totaled Rs 210 crores, according to media reports.

 Sushanto and Seemanto, two of founder of Sahara Group Subrata Roy's sons, got married in a double wedding in 2004, and Roy went all out to make it a magnificent occasion. 

Sahara Stadium in Lucknow served as the venue for the wedding, which was followed by a weeklong celebration. Among the more than 11,000 visitors were celebrities from Bollywood and the sports world.
